Detailed Reviews
This is a lovely little guesthouse right in the heart of Myendong Seoul. The proprietor makes breakfast for you in the morning and the courtyard out the back is very lovely to relax in after a hard day walking through the markets. The Korean mattress on the floor was surprisingly comfortable. Tiny little bathroom was fine. Mr Pho took us to the airport limousine bus and let us keep our luggage there for the day after we had checked out. The laneway is quite steep up to the house so if you are aged and infirm dont stay there - although there is a back entrance which if you arrived by cab would be the better entrance. I liked the steepness and the alley -was part of the experience.

Wonderfull welcome! The house is very well located, in a central spot of Seoul, not far of many bars and restaurants. But the place is very calm. The room are not very big but comfortable and clean. Moreover, the prices of rooms are not expensive. I highly recommend this address! We spend a good time with my friends.

The guesthouse was a bit difficult to find, most cab drivers doesn't know where it is. The rooms was okay, if only the loft with a bed underneath had more head room! I was the unfortunate one to have bed under loft. As a solution, I moved my bed right beside the other bed on the landing to be able to atleast sit up without bumping my head on the loft.
The floor heating took a while to heat up the room so you'll have to wait a couple of hours before you feel the room warming up.
The hosts don't speak English, except only for the guy that welcomed us but I never saw him on the remainder of our stay. They serve bread and hard boiled eggs in the morning, they had coffee as well and marmalade for the bread. Very friendly hosts i must say.
It is near Namsan Tower but a bit far from other tourist attractions. Having said that, we had to take the cab to almost anywhere we go, although it is winter and it is snowing and we prefer to take the cab than to walk in the snow. So i guess if it were a different season going around the area was a bit easier.

I loved the fact that the location is perfect for a quite night as well as it’s so closed to Namsan tower for a beautiful walk in morning, Myeongdong for shopping and sightseeing in evening time and many places I can get to in less than 15 mins
The guest house is perfectly clean , they have a healthy breakfast as well as a projector where I played my favorite movies at night before heading to sleep.
The family are so nice and always there to help me with everything I needed ^_^
I recommend this place for long term and short term stays~~

Despite of our last minute cancellation on our first guesthouse booked 3 months before our travel...Mama guesthouse accepted us and welcome us in their humble home...easy to talk to since she speaks english fluently and her daughter can speak japanese as well....they are very hospitable...Don't expect too much on their breakfast but you can also have breakfast in nearby cozy cafes...don't try starbucks...i recommend their local coffeeshops...
enjoy your trip...

There are two Mama Guesthouses in Myeongdong under the same owner. The one that we stayed have to walk up a small slope to the guesthouse and about 10 mins walk from Myeongdong station. Just lack of signage to the guesthouse. The owner and family can speak English and friendly. Breakfast, wifi and laundry services are available. Rooms are very cozy and comfortable.
