Staff - Mr. Kyaw and Mr. Kyi at the front desk were VERY helpful, kind and caring. I received a very warm welcome from them. They're always willing to help you with your problems. In fact, they go out of their way to do their best to help you feel at home. They even helped me get a taxi that cost less than the price on my GRAB taxi app. They take a very good care of all their guests (from what I have noticed), which is really nice! If you need help with planning your trip within Myanmar, you can always ask them. They can give you detailed useful information and I have seen them help other guests makes transportation arrangements too. They speak English very well so you don't have to worry about communication barrier. Plus, the owner of the guesthouse will personally pick you up from the airport and take you back (anytime between 6.00 a.m. - 3 p.m.) provided you tell them your arrival and departure time in advance. I will definitely come back. Breakfast and Free Water - if you'd like to sample local dishes like Mohingar as part of the free breakfast instead of their healthy and balanced continental breakfast comprising of eggs, fruits, toast and coffee/burmese milk tea, you can make your request a day in advance. You can get hot/cold drinking water whenever in the dining area, which is also where you can use their kettle and fridge. the dining area is clean and I spent most of my time there working on my laptop. Quiet, Clean and Spacious Room - the single room that I booked came with a private bathroom. I asked for a quiet room and I got one. It was clean and I was very satisfied with the condition of the room. everything worked just fine. there was plenty of space to put all my things and there are more than 2 sockets for me to charge my electronic gadgets. if you have any problems, TELL THEM and they will fix it for you IMMEDIATELY. the water pressure was not a problem for me. All I had to do was let them know I'm about to use the shower so they would turn up the water pressure for me. WIFI - I was able to stream all of my shows online from my room and didn't have to wait for the videos to load. But, if you're not satisfied with the speed, LET THEM KNOW so they could do something about it. I was satisfied with the speed, though. Location - the location is superb. it's in downtown area, which makes it easy to get to many touristy spots. i also like the fact that there's the daily farmers market right in front of the guesthouse. across the guesthouse is a nice place to eat local food. it's clean, cheap and serves yummy local cuisines.

The location is great, not far to train station, the staff were very good at giving us all the relevent information on getting around Yangon and also the rest of Myanmar. There are a few mosquitos, so keep your door closed. Aircon worked well. very good wifi. Private bathroom is very convienent. This place is not family run.

The good value place to stay. The accomodation is extremely clean. Staffs are really helpful. They have the pick up service, at the time of our travel, it is free (maybe it is low season time). They have 3 inns, stay at Ocean Pearl Inn 3, it is right in the old quater. Nice old houses around, exciting streets, easy to find eating places. Can walk to Sule papoda

We originally booked Ocean Pearl Inn-3 but their airport pickup knowingly drove us here instead! We decided to stay; it's cheaper than -3 and our en suite room was passable. The breakfast was ok too. Note this hotel is a 10-15 minute taxi ride from Sule Pagoda in the city centre.

If you want the stay cheaply in Yangon, this might be the place. It is sparse. The bed is a thin mattress on a platform. Very hard. The attached bath has the typical shower that flows onto the bathroom floor. I had ants in the bathroom one day. YOU CANNOT DRINK THE WATER. They do provide breakfast - one egg, toast and fruit. But consider these advertising claims on their brochure. "24 hours electricity." That tells you something about the conditions in Yangon. " Free Wi-Fi" Yes, but it took me more than 30 minutes to download emails and some days there was no connection at all. "!0 minutes walk to the Centre to Town." NO WAY. It would take any least an hour and by taxi might be longer depending on the horrible traffic. "30 minutes drive from the airport" It might be 30 minutes at 2AM but during the day plan on at least 1 hour and probably 2. Here's the real problem TRAFFIC! Traffic in Yangon is horrible. You must plan on very long taxi rides anywhere you go between 8AM and 7PM. There is no avoiding this. Taxis are cheap but there are just too many cars for the roads. I went to the major pagoda at 5:30AM. No problem. But by 9AM it would take 30-45 minutes to go about 3 miles.

This modest hotel suited us well for our first 2 nights in Yangon- and we returned for our last night in Myanmar. It's clean and comfortable and the breakfast of fruit, toast, tea/coffee and fried eggs was filling. Bottled and/or purified water to refill your bottle is freely available as is wifi-this works best in the foyer area. And we used the free shuttle bus (only 2 of us so it was a taxi) to the airport. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and the manager in particular was very helpful. It's a great location for the night market, the Yangon River and for walking around the Colonial buildings. We also enjoyed drinks and dinners at a couple of nearby bars and restaurants.

Room was smelly and moldy. Which also includes the toilet. Wifi was not working inside our rooms, only at the reception and it was quite slow. Although staff were nice and friendly. They are near fastfood and supermarket.

Althought i usually look for cheaper places, this hotel was pretty good for my arriving in Myanmar... For a reasonable price, i got a private clean room with attached bathroom... Not far from the city centre (fifteen minutes walking from Sule Paya) They provide free pick-up from the airport (very useful, after a seventeen hour flight...), and friendly staff... I enjoyed my two days there...

First of all, it is important to mention there are no lifts in this hotel. The free Wi-Fi works pretty well on the first level, but grows stagnant upstairs. When we went to stay, some of the rooms had a ceiling leak, which makes matters complicated due to it being directly on the bed. The staff were helpful, offering a change of rooms, but yet that new room was also leaking. Thus, we ended up having to squeeze extra people into one of the good rooms as they were getting tired of changing rooms. The management took the feedback well, and even gave us a refund on the faulty room, which was very kind of them. On the whole, this place is more suited for light travellers, not for those staying long term.

Our stay at the Ocean Pearl Inn was comfortable and pleasant, thanks 100% to Mr. Kyaw, who was helpful from start to finish and beyond. We were a bit stymied — and very nearly decided not to visit Myanmar at all — by being unable to purchase domestic airline tickets online, but he helped us around that. This entailed a great deal of trust on both sides, but he came through exactly as promised, producing our requested airline tickets when we arrived. He also organized a car and driver to pick us up from the airport, which was WELL worth the $10 that we had to pay because we arrived after the hours during which pickup is free (something to be aware of when booking tickets) — otherwise, the whole airport scene seemed pretty chaotic. In a lot of places, we just figure something out upon arrival, but we were hugely glad we hadn’t done so in Yangon, where travelers who did, were in quite a pickle, facing an extremely long wait and enormous expense. The Ocean Pearl Inn was well-located, walking distance from the Botahtaung Pagoda and with pleasant street restaurants literally right outside. The breakfast was delicious and ample. The room was fairly standard — nothing extraordinary — but the wifi and AC both worked well, which were our primary concerns. We did have trouble accessing certain sites (banking and email), but that seemed to be a common issue throughout Myanmar rather than anything specific to Yangon. If you see nothing else in Yangon, visit the Shwedagon Paya at sunset — tied in our minds with the temples of Bagan as most scenic in Southeast Asia. Would stay again.
