M&A Eco Beach Bungalows is a private, safe and secluded resort located towards the Northern Part of the big island of Babeldaob. We boasts the longest stretch of beautiful, white, sandy all natural beach with crystal, clear, warm ocean waters. We have hammocks & lounge chairs where you can relax under a shade of overhanging trees and enjoy the fresh breeze or read a book. A great place to snorkel among the corals or walk along the reefs during low tides. Great place for families with children.
There are many amazing features to the M&A bungalows: they are clean and beautiful; it’s quiet and private; Arlene, the owner is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The chef on the property makes beautiful meals. It’s the perfect place to go for quiet reflection and a fantastic beach.

Sooo beautiful! This is the ideal place to relax and be pampered. To be pampered by the deliciously prepared breakfast and dinner, the pleasantly furnished private bungalows, the private beach, the warm waves, the fresh coconut and the wonderful excursions. Relaxation while snorkeling and kayaking directly in the lagoon in front of the beach. Relaxation while looking at the reef and the starry night sky. Just the right mix of luxury and right on the sand under palm trees on the beach. Arlene looks after and helps wonderfully with the organization of excursions and the rest of the trip in Palau. I spent a dream week in M&A Beach Bungalow.

Brought in the New Year with friends here. The team works exceptionally hard to ensure the natural beauty is always shining. It's incredibly clean and quiet here. The beach was not crowded and the kayaking and snorkeling were a blast! We had several bungalows booked to include a 2 bedroom and studio hut which were both comfortable.

We stayed in the family bungalow and had a nice time there. With three kids, the Long Beach and it’s shallow water was an asset. Food on site as well as the rest of the service was excellent considering where you are. The bungalow was very basic but super clean, the staff took a lot of effort each time when servicing the room. The same attention was given to the rest of the site and everything was super clean and a pleasure to walk around.
If you are looking for a remote place to disconnect, this is it.

My husband and I stayed there at the end of Dec 2012 for 9 nights. The room was nice and the hotel was very close to the beach. It could have been the perfect place wouldnt have it been for a few things. - you are charged for completely EVRYTHING. It was my birthday and the owner charged my husband to decorate the table with a few flowers (even though they grew all around the place). We also organised a car rental and the owner drove us to pick up the car from Koror (which is about 40min by car away). She went to Koror regardless as she needed to get some groceries, yet we were charged 50USD for the one way journey and considering she had to go there anyway we felt the amount was a little over the top. Make sure you always ask how much she charges before you committ to anything because if you dont ask, the price doesnt get mentioned until you are presented with the hefty bill at the end of the trip. - we had a few times dinner at the hotel's restaurant and the cost was 22USD per person. The food was alright, fish and vegetables and sometimes some local dishes. During our first few nights there were a few other guests staying who also had dinner with us. As there were more guests great effort was made to cook the dinner, local dishes were served, local vegetables and fish and a homemade dessert. However, once the guests left and we were the only ones, the quality of food decreased significantly. We were served dry salad, a large amount of rice, a large amount of noodles with hardly any sauce or vegetables and some fish. For dessert the 2 of us received one (!) shop bought something which even still had the price tag on it (just over 1USD). Considering this is a restaurant it is unacceptable to serve shop bought dessert and also to serve plain rice and plain noodles and some fish and still charge 22USD per person. We eventually stopped eating at the restaurant as it was just completely overpriced for what was served and instead drove to Koror where you could eat in a restaurant and pay less for more food, better quality and not having to eat just rice and noodles. Overall we felt we were taken adventage of and the owner just sees a dollar sign for each guest. You are charged for every little thing yet when she served me only one a small banana and one apple for breakfast (as I asked for fruits) no deductions were made. The owner said that due to the typhoon there were no fruits available. However, we went to Peliliu for one night which was badly hit by the typhoon and somehow we were served large amounts of melon, oranges, apples bananas (the hotel we stayed at was just as small and nothing fancy) - so something couldnt have been right there as the mainisland has hardly been affected in comparison to Peliliu and you could also find plenty of fruits in the supermarket in Koror.. Also twice we found fungus on the food. You were always served some kind of dessert at breakfast (always some shop bought cake or something) and twice is was going off and mould was growing on it, so make sure to take a close look. The rooms are nice (although a lot of things kept breaking, the main lamp, the fan, the main lamp again and so on which was a little annoying as something broke almost every day) and the location and beach is great. Overall I would not recommend the hotel as the owner didnt feel to be genuine or honest and I would not stay there again as it was completely overpriced for what it was. Another aspect I didnt like is that they have a bat in a tiny little cage, hardly big enough for the bat to move at all and they keep it in there for the whole time.. keeping an animal in such a tiny cage, where it cant move or fly is just plain cruel.

We did not find there what was expected when looking at the other reviews. The manager was helpful only as long as it was serving her purpose. We had asked if there were boat trips available to the northern reef or Kayangel. Surprisingly, she said no boatman wanted to take us except her husband. He did not take us to the northern reef as planned (an hour boat drive) but 200m from the dock, pretexting that the sea would be rough further when there was absolutely no wind, a blue sky and no waves. The price they asked (450US) was above what we had paid for a whole day in the rocky island which is hours of boat trip. On the last day just before leaving we wanted to rent a kayak for an hour but the rule was that it was only to be rent for the day: no exception! We were the only customers, she is the one making the rule and everywhere on the island you can rent by the hour. Where is the friendliness here or at least the honesty ? This is also the only place I have been where a 7 years old kid pays a full meal price (that is 22US for fish/rice/salad/canned fruits, no special cooking skills involve here). She also charges per person and not per trip if you want her to pick you up that is 25x5=125 US one way for our family. Rooms are very dark as it is varnished wood. They cleaned one day out of three and we had to ask for shampoo as there was only soap. I would not recommend this place, it is much better to stay closer to Koror and rent a car for the day if you want to see the rest of the island. The road is brand new and very well maintained with flowers all along the way. There are nice views from hills, and all the touristic sites are well sign posted. There are a few nice beaches but with shallow waters and no close reef.

I work for Delta Airlines and I have the luxury to travel anywhere in the world I want to travel. I have tchose to take my family here 2 times in the last 2 months. This place is perfect. It all starts when you land in Palau. The airport is staffed with a very wonderful staff who welcomes you to their beautiful country. Once you get thru customs and go to exit thats when the true fun starts. you are then greeted by Arlene or her son Mac with a true welcoming smile. They take you to your resort bungalow where upon arrival they already have the air condition on Arlene has the frige stocked with goodies. you get a wonderful nights sleep then wake up to Arlenes full breakfast. The breakfast is better than any breakfast you can find. She puts her entire heart into your needs and interest. The resort is family owned and I love the whole family. Arlenes husband and son go out of their way as well to make sure you have a good vacation. If you have time i highly recomend chartering a boat trip or fishing trip with Arlenes husband. They have a very nice boat and he is a true native of Palau so he knows the water and the area very well. you will have the time of your life and it is money well spent. The beach at the resort is something so pretty it looks fake. The water is perfect and the resort is so safe and secluded. While my family and I was there we met the Senator of Palau who was also on vacation with his family there. He told me that when he wants to relax he always comes to M&A. I had the previleage to sit and talk with Senator Diaz for long time and I gained more respect for the country of Palau. Their political views and values are better than my countries are with the idiot president we have ( I am from the United States). The country goes above and beyond to keep the island the way God made it. I feel like time stopped 30 years ago on the island. The people are very friendly and have family values and the crime is very low. My family and I have traveled the world and we like this country better than any other country we visited for a beach destination. If your looking for a true relaxing unforgettable vacation come here to M & A.

I'd like to share with you a rather unpleasant experience our group of three had in Jan 2016 in the M & A resort.
We arrived at the beach a bit after 4pm and wanted to check it out to see if we like it. There was nobody at the reception (it was locked) so we proceeded to the beach, thinking that a member of the staff might be there. We spent around 10 mins at the beach, did not enter the water or use the sunchairs and came back to the parking lot. We were greeted by a member of the staff (a girl) who said we need to pay 10$ each. We argued that we just wanted to see the beach and since we didn't spend long on the beach it was an unfairly steep price to pay. She insisted that this was the policy and no exceptions could be made. A by-stander guest from the bungalows who was witnessing the exchange joined the conversation and said he had exactly the same experience the day before. We asked the staff member if we could see the manager and the staff said they're out and will be back in 30 mins. However, she managed to find someone immediately. That lady did not introduce herself and had a very unwelcoming attitude. She used a raised tone of voice when talking to us right away and treated us aggressively like unwelcome trespassers. We argued that the sign said the beach was open till 4pm and that we arrived after that time and spent very little time at the actual beach and that we felt the 30$ charge was unfair. The person threatened us with filing a trespassing charge against us with the police since we came after the closing time. She said we wouldn't be able to leave without paying the full charge and was deaf to our arguments so we paid the full charge and left shocked by the hostile attitude.
I later sent an email to M&A describing the situation. They apologized and said that they were not aware of any such situations before (hard to believe given that the other guests had the same experience a day before us) and didn't offer to make any amends. They clearly do not put their money where their mouth is (they could've offered a free stay at the beach in the very least as a nice gesture that doesn't actually cost them much, if anything) and treat customers with disrespect.
The best way to get such people out of business is to vote with your feet and take your money to people who understand customer service. If you have to resort to threatening people to get their money, then maybe you should change business sector.
This encounter was the only "stain" during our otherwise flawless stay in Palau, among its very warm and welcoming population
NOT RECOMMENDED!

Alii(hello) We would once again like to apologize for the unfortunate experience you and your group had while visiting our resort on your short stop over. We were not aware of the situation till you sent us a letter but since then it has been brought up and discussed among our staff members that this type of performance will not be tolerated. We assure you that this will not happen again. Our beach hours is from 10:00am-4:00pm, 7 days a week for outside visitors not booked with us. If you had come during our operation hours the situation would have been different. Because you said you arrived after our operation closed after 4:00pm and made your way on to the premises even though you saw the sign posted for our hours of operation, the fees we charge and that the door were locked, we honestly do not know who you spoke to at that given time. Also just for your information any checked in guests do not pay any additional fees to be at the beach or anywhere on the premises after hours. They are the only ones allowed to roam around the resort at any given time. There would have been no by-standers around at that time because we shut down operation at 4:00pm everyday. Most resorts in Palau charge between $50-$60 to enter, so we believe that our $10.00 fee is more then reasonable. We hope that should you ever come back to Palau in the future that you would stop by our resort during regular operation hours and experience our true customer service.

On Saturday, April 16, my colleague and I took 9 high school students from Guam to spend a whole day there as a means to relax before our nine-day visit begins. I was somewhat skeptical because I am a Palauan but I did not know that such a place could be built and operated in my homeland. After our arrival, I looked at the surroundings, the bungalows, the river, the beach and it became apparent to me that there is no words in any language that could justify describing its beauty and its serenity. Arlene, the owner, greeted us with a smile that made my day after a long drive from Koror. After Arlene explained to the students what the place has to offer, we decide to explore the area. The bungalows are built with local woods but with nearly all of the amenities of a regular hotel. Since I may not do justice in describing the beauty of the place especially the bungalows, I took a number of pictures which I will post here for others to see. Arlene prepared a sumptuous lunch for us. As you may know, high school students are hard to satisfy when it comes to food since they are more into fast foods. But they were eating their lunch like it was made by their moms. Then the students went to the beach (you will see the two pictures of the beach that would take your breath away) while others went kayaking. Arlene and her husband could be described as environmentalists where they have tried as much as they can to preserve the natural beauty of the area by building the bungalows and other units around the trees rather than cutting them down. The place is immaculately clean and the "sound of silence" is so noticeably ubiquitous that the only sounds you hear are the birds singing and the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach at high tide. We arrived at the area at mid-morning and we stayed practically all day. It is isolated enough so that you do not have to look for privacy, it looks for you; there are so much greenery that makes you feel so "natural" since most hotels are built with concrete cement that would destroy the natural beauty of an area; and the beach with its sands that are so finite you feet would literally sink when you walk, and there are many lounge chairs inviting you to rest your body and discover your soul. We finally had to literally and figuratively peel ourselves from the area because we did not want the day to end. This means the only drawback from this place is......once you get there, you do not want to leave. When we returned to Guam, our students, in their reports of the trip, said that among the three best things they enjoyed in Palau, this was one of them. I totally agree....but that is one man's opinion. I urge and I strongly recommend that travelers consider this place so you would be able to see and experience its beauty and its elegance, its serenity....so priceless.... as we are not selfish enough to keep the experience a secret.....we are happy to share. I will be back soon....real soon. Yoichi

I spent two relaxing, delightful and too-short days at M&A. I stayed in one of the bungalows with a patio and it was solid and nicely finished with beautiful dark wood. It is furnished with a large comfortable bed and reclined deck chairs on a patio surrounded with well-kept vegetation.
The grounds and beach areas are meticulously kept and a wonderful place to recline in a hammock and watch the wind on the water.
The Palauan proprietor, Arlene, arranged an amazing snorkeling tour of the under-visited marine conservation areas north of the largest island of Babeldaob. They also have kayaks that you can take out into the lagoon to see the corals and fish of protected reef areas.
Arlene is also an amazing cook and I had the best food of my entire Palau trip at M&A.
The bungalows are less than an hour north of Koror and absolutely worth a trip to experience one of the few stretches of sand in Palau.

Alii Kilrwat, Thank you for choosing to stay with us while you were in Palau. Thrilled that you were one of the few who had a chance to snorkel at the Conservation area in the North where everything is still so pristine and untouched. Thank you for such warm comments about our resort and the service we provide, we will be sure to pass the warm words on to our staff. It was our pleasure to serve you with fresh local food that Palau has to offer. We hope that you will come back again for another visit. Sulang
