The staff at Hotel de la Opera took good care of us in this beautifully situated refurbished hotel. Our room had an utterly striking view of the city. Breakfast was fantastic - especially before the conference attendees arrived! Homemade tamales, arepas, changua - incredible! We slept very well; the only downside was that people are not courteous by the elevators and the sound resonates quite a bit. Only used the pool once, but it was great! I am selecting "couples" because I was there with my partner, but the reason for the visit was to give a talk.
Such a charming quaint hotel. Refurbished colonial building, but maintains plenty of charm and nostalgia. Excellent staff and quality food in lower restaurant. Excellent breakfast with omelet/fried egg service . 4th floor restaurant closed during our visit. There is an elevator and they do have handicapped rooms, but lots of steps everywhere. There is a spa, but I did not check out the specific services offered. Plenty of antiques everywhere. Small chapel on 2nd floor.
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Our room was very quiet and had everything that we needed. It is a lovely quaint building and is in the perfect location for visiting the old town. Although there are many restaurants nearby we only ate out at one as were slightly nervous of venturing too far at night - maybe it was unfounded but we ate a couple of evening meals at the hotel - both of which were good. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. We have no idea what we paid for our stay at the hotel as it was part of our package from the UK.
This is a lovely hotel and from our experience not at all shabby or dirty. Staff are very friendly and despite limited English for them and limited Spanish for us we had no problems. Our room in the newer part of the hotel was spacious, a large safe. Fluffy towels and plenty of toiletries. A lovely view across roof tops, part of the city and the mountains. The thermal pool and sauna were a great way of relaxing after being out with the crowds and the heat. Only disappointment was it is closed all day on a Monday which after a long day of exploring was a bit annoying. Breakfast consists of the usual fruits, cereals, meats, cakes, jellies, breads and hot egg station, juices and tea, coffee and chocolate. It was quiet but only a minutes walk from the main square.
Historical hotel. Excellent hospitality, incredible dinner We stayed two nights as travel group. This hotel also has excellent location. My first recommendation for Bogota We appreciate to all employee. Hikmet Uluğ
