Loved this hotel and did not have some of the issues others mentioned. I was in "la Travaitta" (111). First I hadn't realized there was an elevator which was small but convenient (or you can walk up just one flight of stairs). My room overlooked an outside courtyard. The bathroom was modern and had a nice large shower and just outside the shower/toilet were the double sinks. There was oddly a tub in the corner of the room (not in the bathroom) so if you wanted to use the tub you would have been in the main room area. But I just shower so not awkward for me. Also there was plenty of hot water for my shower. I do think the room across the hall from me was the one that faces into the atrium - and the gentleman who was staying there said it was very noisy. So perhaps that is the room to avoid if you need quiet. I liked the sit down/made to order breakfast. I found the food came quickly and you could get refills on any item if you were still hungry or wanted more (eggs - bacon - fruit - breads - etc).. As everyone notes - the staff was super helpful and arranged a car/driver for me one day to tour around the city (driver was great and spoke some English and I speak some Spanish). You typically leave your key when you go out and then ring the bell to have someone let you in (especially evening). I didn't find this a problem as the door was always answered quickly but perhaps some people would. There were several common areas to sit down and relax in. Also wanted to mention the hotel is spotlessly clean. The location was awesome. It is just a block away from the Botero Musem and the Casa de Moneda (free). (go to the end of the block and turn right). If you went to end of the block and turned left - the street was closed off and there were street vendors selling food and crafts. At the end of the block was the Juan Valdez coffee (like a Starbucks). In the next block was La Puerta Falsa (famous local restaurant) and then at the end of the block - the Plaza de Bolivar. On the weekend a great place to hangout with lots of vendors and people watching. You are also just a few blocks from the emerald shops and about 6 blocks from the Gold Museum (10 minute walk). Also the hotel is about 2 blocks from Santuario Nuestra Senora del Carmen (Candy Cane Church). All in all a great place to stay.…
Wonderful staff, wonderful room, wonderful public areas and wonderful breakfast! All of this from a fabulous hotel in a great location in the central historic district of Candelaria, close to everything you need to see in Bogota. Thank you for making our short stay so memorable!
This is friendly very convenient hotel in the heart of Candelaria. It’s well decorated with lots of interesting things around. The breakfast is good. The difficulty I had with it was that we had a room which only opened onto the interior courtyard. That’s ok but the smell of bacon in the morning was very intrusive and unpleasant. Also the bathroom was weirdly situated as a room within the room with the toilet on one side and the shower on another and a separate basin. Very hard to describe! But (except for the bacon smell) don’t be put off by that!
This hotel is in the historic part of Bogota within easy walking of most of the sights. It is a hotel full of character. We had a large, ornate and comfortable room with a huge bathroom, slightly dated, but everything worked. The staff were really pleasant and breakfast was good - not buffet - so you had to wait a bit. It does not do other meals. A very nice place to stay.
Staff couldnt be better, breakfast was AMAZING and location literally steps from all the sites. Love the old world charm and sophistication. Would want any friends/family to stay here! Yohan and Fransico were amazing! THANK YOU!
"I would suggest a room that faces the street - the windows are double paned storm windows and do a great job of keeping sound out."Read full review
