Somewhat walkable
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Pre-arrival administration was sound and the check-in process was quick, efficient and polite. The rooms are not perfect, but certainly very workable with excellent beds, good hanging space, good lighting and excellent air conditioning with interchangeable 220V power outlets. We had breakfast included and the selection was very good indeed; certainly with a middle eastern bent, but you can obtain a western style breakfast here without appearing presumptuous or fussy. Pastries, breads, salads, eggs to order and an abundance of fruit and salads are the highlight. Hemingway’s bar and the outdoor area close by are unique. An excellent selection of drinks and a quality food menu are in evidence. Not wide ranging, but what they do; they do well and consistently. There are pools, a gym and outdoor areas to cater to anyone’s needs. Guests can use LBP, USD and international credit cards with safety. There is valet parking at reasonable rates.
This hotel has one outstanding feature; the staff. Across the board from reception, to wait staff to cleaners to housekeeping they are all respectful, helpful, friendly and (generally) multi-lingual. By day 2 in the Hemingway’s lounge, all staff knew what I wanted and when.
If you are visiting Beirut, seriously consider this hotel, not because it is the best hotel in Beirut, but because it mirrors Beirut and Lebanon; a wonderfully eclectic mix of cultures, languages, food and services that has something for everyone…..and that perfect sunset.

The Movenpick Resort was truly a wonderful and happy experience! I would go there again and again. My customer journey began with Mr. Joe Turk who provided stellar customer service which made me want to book in the first place. He did everything to ensure a delightful experience! The front desk guest relations were always helpful especially Karima and the housekeeping staff always ensured we had everything we needed upon request; Supervisor Mohammed Jallad, Ahmed, Yousef,, Rana and Fatima always asked what they could do for us. There is also Ahmed Siblani Manager of Hemingways who really went above and beyond to make our sunset meals special. I look very forward to bringing my family there again and utilizing the business space for future events. T

We arrive to Beirut and stayed at the Movenpick for 8 nights. Checkin process was pleasant Rana was welcoming and arrange everything that we needed. The acknowledged our Accor memberships and provided welcome drinks. I needed physio and Eli at front desk arranged everything for me. I can not thank him enough for his help.
Room All the rooms had Lebanese sweet and fruit waiting for us. The hotel is starting to upgrade the rooms so some of our friends got to experience the new rooms during our stay. The new rooms are quite modern and stylish, they only had a hand full and I was given the existing room. The sea view room is a must so you can enjoy the amazing sunset. The beds I would have to say are one of the best beds that I have slept on while away. If I could rate the beds it will be 5 stars. The shower have good pressure which is great. House keeping will go out of the way to make you room homely. Only issues the old room don’t have usb charging station.
Breakfast at Madinati Restaurant One of the best breakfast I have experienced while travailing oversea. From traditional Lebanese food to modern western breakfast. The staff Ali and the lady making fresh Saj where amazing. They went above and beyond everyday making sure we where well looked after. We also had dinner here and it was one of the best Lebanese food we had during our stay.
Pool The pools get used by hotel guest and also external guest who pay to swim and spend the day. It does get busy in summer peak time. Only suggestion will be if hotel considered keeping an area reserved for hotel guest, as we had issues finding a sun beds. Ali was a waiter at the pool and again was always there to assist us. He was kind, professional and always smiling.
Spa Used the spa for a massage and I was quite pleasantly surprised. There is room to grow in term of spa treatment experiences. Though I’m it will as time goes by.
A big thank you to the manager Charbel who looked after us during our stay!
Will be coming back and looking forward to once the renovation are completed.

I am not sure why this hotel can’t seem to get it together. Not family friendly. I stayed for 3 days with my husband and 2 children. My husband left during day for business as he is from Lebanon. I am not, and was treated as such. One day with charged one price and paid in cash next day order exact same thing for kids charged $8 more paid in cash. The exchange rate doesn’t change that much in 1 day. The pool was lovely, life guards were not. Adult men screaming and blowing their whistles at small children fro splashing each other. If they weren’t doing that they were talking with their friends. Be warned they open the pools to the public for a daily fee. So not all the people are the level of the clientele staying. My husband decided to move Is to a different hotel. Hope this help the moms with kids traveling, not a place for us. I should have read all the reviews, my issues were the same as others.

We had an issue with swimming at the main outdoor pool which ended up with us leaving the location. While pool staff were not too friendly and forthcoming, overall, we were impressed by how hotel management resolved the issue.
Another strange policy is no availability of any food during the morning hours, meaning waiting till 12 noon to have a snack, not being allowed to bring any snacks, even for kids. A bit hard having paid $60 just to get in. At least they could open a small shop if not scared of losing a few $ with people brining too much food.
A bit to strong on

The Hotel has sweeping superb views of the Marina and the Mediterranean Sea. It has a private beach and huge sea facing rooms. I loved having breakfast at the Madinat with its huge open outdoor seating and magnificent sea view. Evenings we dined at the Hemingway which had great views, live music, continental food, and an amazing cigar lounge. One gets to see the crem de la crem of Lebanese here. We stayed for four days and had a wonderful time. The cleaning staff was most accommodating to various requests. I totally recommend it.

The hotel Movenpick in Beirut is an outstanding hotel. The services are first rate. The cleanliness, professionalism, and courtesy of the staff is exemplary. Mohamed Jallad and Abdullah Sabline from the hotel staff provided great service preparing the room and answered any questions I had about the hotel and the area. The bed was clean and tidy and the bathrooms were sanitized and taken care of in a timely and spotless manner. I highly recommend this hotel.

The security is top notch at location and the house keeping Manager Ahmed Jaafar was just an amazing guy who was always willing to help in any way possible to make me and my guests feel welcomed. Had a pleasant stay here for a week. Check in was smooth , the staff were very nice and informative. Room was large , extremely clean and had a lovely view of the ocean. House keeping did an amazing job thank you to Ahmad for checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed in the room. It was always a pleasure to see his smiling face each day. There was also a lovely lady doing the rooms , sadly didn’t get her name but she was also very helpful when we had a small issue with our door lock that she promptly resolved.
Breakfast was nice , staff were friendly but needed a little more training.
Pool areas are very clean well organised and you will never have a problem with finding a bed and umbrella. The staff work extremely hard to make sure you have everything you need. We didn’t use the beach as it was very rocky.
Had my hair done for a wedding in the salon and really loved it, very professional. Would highly recommend going there.
The Hemingway restaurant/Bar looks absolutely lovely, my only regret is we never had time to eat there . Definitely is top of my list to do on our next visit.
