Jerusalem Garden Home is a family run Bed and Breakfast, located in the quaint area of Baka, in South Jerusalem. The Ella family have lived here since the 1930's, and have recently renovated the historic home, and opened it to travellers and guests who like the experience of staying in a local neighborhood, and to feel integrated with the local people. The rooms are comfortably furnished with Queen Sized beds, a small kitchen corner and newly renovated bathrooms, yet the Old House has kept it's original character, with the high ceilings, painted floor tiles and original 100 year old doors and windows. Jerusalem Garden Home also has an adjacent restaurant with a large Fruit Tree Garden, where breakfast is served, and is for the use of the guests at all times. The owners- Roni and Adi live near by and are available at all times to assist and give useful tips and recommendations regarding Jerusalem's Site Seeing.

The building is historic and beautiful. The location is suitable for my purpose, in a quiet neigbourhood with similarly old and beautiful buildings, and near public transport.
The room is essential, relatively small, with little storage space, yet suitable for me since it was for a night. The heating was good, the basic bathroom convenient, clean, with a bathtub and lots of hot water, the kitchenette was equipped with a kettle, tea and coffee. The breakfast was excellent, and the atmosphere in the dining room was pleasant. The owners and staff were friendly.
I enjoyed my stay.

The staff are very helpful and nice. Good varied breakfast with home made bread. The room is well furnished, simple no frills. Well heated for this time of year. The shower lacks water pressure, you have to switch on the water heater. The overall price is reasonable for this area of Jerusalem. The garden is lovely. We enjoyed our stay.

Really wonderful hosts, beautiful outdoor area, great for families- it’s a sin to stay here and not take the 5 minute walk to the first station. The ONLY issue is that I tried to reach someone before I arrived and I couldn’t get a hold of anyone by phone. Other than that, was great and I’d come back!

Roni and Adi own and run Jerusalem Garden Home. What they offer is not available at your typical large hotel establishment.Let me give you an example . My wife and I arrived via airport shuttle. Adi saw us pull up and was there to greet us. Upon unloading our luggage we noticed my wife's bag was missing. As it turns out, one of the other travelers on the same shuttle bus had gotten off earlier with my wife's suitcase instead of their own. Potential nightmare ! It was late at night , we were weary from a 12 hour flight ordeal , and this wasn't good. Long story short, Adi herself drove to the location of where the luggage was and retrieved it for us in less than 30 minutes! The complimentary breakfast is not only authentic Israeli and delicious, they will provide it way past the usual 10 a.m. of commercial hotels. This is great if you happen to sleep in a little. They will also provide you with local knowledge far exceeding a typical concierge. It's personal service they deliver. Arrive as strangers, leave as friends. Don't make a mistake and stay anywhere else.

So cosy hotel with wonderful garnen when you will have tasty and rich breakfast under the flowering and umbrageous trees in sunny morning! Room is comp small but absolutely enoughe for the rest - and the bed is very comfortable. Cleannes of the room and of the hotel in general without any blames! I'd like to thank the owners of the hotel - Rony and Adi, they are splendid and marvellous people and always ready to help and to answer all the needs and questions. Important to say: The Old City is in walking distance and the region where the hotel is situated is very pleasant and calm. Next time in Jerusalem I'll try to be in this hotel and will advise to any to stay there.

The owner of the property Roni and Adi are warming and amazing hostess. My mother and I stayed there for about 6 days the last month of January 2019 and they made us feel so comfortable. The breakfast is delicious. You can choose different types of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. I love the scramble eggs, fresh salad, bread, cheese, olive ae served every morning. They help us to arrange our tours and gave us directions on how to go travel around Jerusalem. Roni and Adi made me and my mother felt like we were home. They treat us so good, they kind and genuine good hearted people. The hotel is located in a nice residential neighborhood where you can find restaurants and food markets. The bus is 1 block distance from the hotel and in 10 minutes bus ride you get to the old city of Jerusalem. Also you can take the train I believe it’s 2 blocks away from the hotel. It’s close to the Western Wall, the Davidson Center, 10 minutes away in bus.

Without a doubt, value for money with added friendly service. You’re immediately made to feel at home, welcomed, and in a very nice residential neighbourhood in Jerusalem. Either a short bus ride or 30 min pleasurable walk into Old City.

Please ignore those comments saying “very very basic”. Am always astonished by the naivety of people of expecting Mercedes at a Hyundai price. But, if you want comfort, clean and very hospitable stay in a nice residential area of Jerusalem, this IS the place for you. Thoroughly recommend it for couples and families.

Stayed in the family room. Lovely place, host very helpful, were able to leave luggage with them until we got back. Once you have found a parking place, leave the car and go by taxi around town. Very reasonable prices, location not too far away from the old town.

So, I've read some of the negative reviews. I wouldn't tell anyone they're wrong, but let me give a different perspective. I'm a pretty seasoned traveler. Been in 4 star's and crappy YMCA's. First of all, this is NOT the King David. If you want that, it's up the road for $500US per night.
Nor is it the one at the Mamilla Mall...I think that was even more.

If what you want is a great family-run B&B in an excellent location, you found it. Our room was clean when we arrived, and cleaned every day. It had a little refrigerator, large bathroom, working tv/satellite, strong wifi. Each morning we were served eggs, tomatoes and cucumbers, cheese, bread, coffee, and hot chocolate for my girls. Every morning. Parking was everywhere on the street and it's free. Turn left and you have restaurants, places to buy food/fruit, dry cleaners and laundries...turn right and about 10 minutes(walking) away you have a parking area with a shuttle that for free takes you to the Dung Gate in the Old City. It had everything we wanted. My wife, three children(7-11) and I loved this place. The owners are warm and friendly and extremely knowledgeable.
