I stayed 8 nights at the Eldan in October of 2022. I had booked a small room and they upgraded me when I checked in. The room was quiet and functional but the TV didn't function. Management said they were having internet problems in certain rooms The times and asked to change rooms but they said none were available. I was given a free bottle of drinking water for my trouble. The Eldan has a wonderful location, across from the King David and the YMCA 3 Arches hotel, and one can easily walk to the old city from it. That said, should I return to Jerusalem I wouldn't stay there. The rooms are tired, the breakfast is nothing special, and having no TV just further cements my negative feelings.
Lovely boutique hotel in a nice part of town close to the old city.Pleasant stay and nice breakfast. Although bar was not open we went to the near by convenience store and had wine when we wanted to. Didn't use car park just taxis and so easy to get on the gett app as all taxis are Registered on this app.
I never write bad reviews, but our experience at the Eldon was devastating and I need to share it with future travellers. My family and I checked into the Eldan Hotel for a week. On the second night we had a substantial amount of cash stolen from the safe, which we locked and put in our own passcode. I called the police and also went to the police station. The manager of the hotel was sympathetic and initially committed to sharing video footage with the police. After taking 24 hrs to gather and review the video footage I was informed that only hotel management and police could see the footage and that they suspect a new employee stole the money since the employee entered the room to do housekeeping and then called in sick for the next few days. When I requested management to look into claiming from The hotel insurance coverage I was told that they had no evidence that I placed money in the safe. The manager also claimed to call the police to share the video footage, however there was no evidence that the Eldan manager contacted the police. They sent me a letter saying that there is nothing they can do to help or compensate me. The manager did however suspend the employee based on her suspicion of theft. I do not recommend that you stay at this hotel at all. There is a total lack and disregard for customer safety and in this case a total lack of urgency or interest to deal with theft on their property by their own staff. Another staff member admitted to me that they had experienced theft themselves on the property in the 2 weeks preceding our stay. If that had been taken seriously we would not be out of pocket a substantial amount right now. There are many other hotels to stay at in Jerusalem, I strongly recommend that you do not stay at the Hotel Eldan.…
I selected this hotel because of its location and relatively low price. This was a big mistake. As stated in other reviews, the hotel is seriously outdated and needs significant improvement to its rooms and service. Reception -- Shining light. They let me check in 2 hours early. Bathroom - no hot water at 8:00 am and had to take cold showers. The toilet was not plumbed properly because it kept flushing every couple of hours. Housekeeping -- There were only two bath towels in the bathroom, and one had a large biologic stain (yes, it was THAT). The second night, the towels had been changed and hand towels were provided. Heating -- Kept running and running all night and I had to get up several times to turn it off and turn it on when the room cooled. It was a good thing I was waking to the noise of the toilet flushing. Internet -- The internet worked sporatically, and the TV had regular lags and no service notices. I had to watch CNN/EuroNews on my laptop, Hair Dryer -- I answered "Yes" to Trip Advisor's question about hair dryers. It is an early model mounted on the wall with a hose. Avoid this hotel if you can, I should have. …
Even with a reduced staff this hotel is as comfortable as before Staff delightful efficient and VERY friendly Breakfast has altered to meet the new restrictions but is even better than before The rooms are scrupulously clean Great value so..... come and support the Eldan and renew our love of Jerusalem
The only good thing about the Hotel was is proximity to the New and Old City of Jerusalem. The Hotel was very outdated and worn. No air conditioning and no hairdryer. The bathrooms really right and equipment was so outdated. The staff was not as helpful as we had gotten in TelAviv at the hotel we stay at there. The hallways were dirty and items such as Chairs and cleaning supplies were just left there. I can’t speak about the food because we didn’t have breakfast there. We wouldn’t recommend this Hotel to anyone and we won’t be going back. Sorry Hotel Eldan. I give you. D. You need to step up your game.
This hotel is located far from any restaurants, making a taxi ride a necessity if you want to eat dinner. We sat at the same table for breakfast for four days, and the crumpled napkin under the table never moved. The lobby is shabby, and one elevator didn't work, and no one seemed to make an effort to have it repaired. The staff was unfriendly. I would definately suggest another hotel.
From check-in to check-out everything inside the hotel was up to snuff. Staff, the bed, the bathroom, even the breakfast were fine. the only near problem was the very, very tight parking facility below the hotel. Our standard-size car ...well, I am just happy that we had no competition for space while leaving. My advice: walk in, taxi or bus in or drive a very compact car to this facility.
This small hotel is in a great location but the service leaves much to be desired. Front desk person usually answers most questions with “no” and doesn’t bother to even say “good morning “ or look up when you enter. Paid for a “superior” room but room had no desk and no hair dryer. Staff was totally unhelpful. Breakfast and Shabbat meals were fine. This could be a real gem if they ever decided to focus on their customer service.
Bathroom was not clean and small.food in breakfast not fresh and coffee machine dosent work . When i ordered a shampoo in the evening time to take a shower its took about 2 hours to get it cause they dont have staff just one person on recipient he do all the job in the hotel
