We stayed for two nights. The hotel is clean and well maintained. They are very strict about requiring masks in all public places which made us feel safe in spite of covid-19. The breakfast buffet is delicious and all organized on separate covered plates or served from behind glass partitions.

We participated in a free 1 hour tour of the German Colony offered by the hotel which was of high quality and really interesting, I recommend it. The location of the hotel is great, just steps away from the First Station and if you walk in the other direction there are some shops and boutiques.

The rooftop pool is gorgeous, just it gets a bit windy and chilly in the hours leading up to closing time (8pm when we were there), even in the heat of summer. We loved sitting there and relaxing both in and out of the pool.

We decided to forgo the old city view to save a bit on the cost of our room and honestly we didn't feel like it was a 2nd class room. We were overlooking the first station and it was pleasant to hear the music from there at night if we opened the window. The room felt very luxurious, the bed was extremely comfortable (firm mattress) and the design and decoration of the room and bathroom was really stunning, as well as the artwork in the hallways and light fixtures throughout the hotel. It's clear that a lot of thought was put into the design and selection of the furniture and materials, which were all of very high quality in the rooms and public areas.

We were surprised the parking garage was so costly but the front desk directed us to a free lot nearby. We were very happy with our stay there and only wish we could have stayed another few days.

We have stayed at the Orient hotel at the beginning of July. The hotel reopened on the 2nd of July after being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We had a family room which is very spacious. It has two TVs and two air-conditioners which is wonderfully comfortable. On the other hand, there were some odd choices: there is only one garbage can in the room (other than the toilets). Furthermore, for a hotel with two swimming pools, there are not many places to hang wet swimsuits. In addition, being 4 persons, we only had 3 water bottles and 3 towels.

Breakfast was delicious. The dining room is very spacious and there is a lot of space between tables. It has also been nicely adapted to the age of the virus, with food being served behind dividers. Sometimes it meant food was being served slower, but that is reasonable considering the situation. Being our second time at the hotel though, it seems the pandemic was used to reduce the previously immense variety. Missing, for example, were the bubbly morning drinks, condiments, spreads, and traditional Jewish foods.

On COVID-19 the hotel seems to adhere to the national standards. There are posted instructions and the staff is asking guests politely to follow them. Nevertheless, since you will find people not following the guidelines outside the hotel, you will also find some of these in the hotel. I would expect the hotel staff to be stricter in these cases since it will allow them to continue to operate.

Another unfortunate note is the food found in the hotel is priced way too high to be accessible. We have only eaten at the rooftop restaurant and, although there were quality ingredients, the result was disappointing. You can always go outside across the road to the station or the German colony for cheaper meal.

Other issues we had included a request from guest services, which did not arrive. An hour later we called again, and then guest services arrived twice! Then again, we had another call to guest services, and they have arrived immediately. Public toilets had maintenance issues, one toilet being clogged and empty soap dispensers.

In summary the hotel appears either still to wake up from being dormant or just not coping yet with the summer load. Nevertheless, we had great fun and a great vacation!

We have just returned to the Jerusalem Orient Hotel for a second visit in August, which must speak for itself to come back within 10 days. The hotel being relatively new is clean and fresh with a great atmosphere, and the staff could not be friendlier. We are fortunate enough to be staying in a suite, that gives us access to the business lounge, which in itself leaves little to be desired. The refreshments and food there are of a top quality as are the staff managing the lounge. The standard rooms, which we viewed are also of a high level being modern, of a good size, with the same quality bathroom as we have in the suite. Some even have an Old City view.
The breakfast in the main dining room leaves nothing to the imagination as there is such a variety of great hot and cold foods that it is hard to decide what not to eat as all is excellent !! Possibly the best breakfast we have encountered anywhere in Israel. We have also eaten in the evening at the roof restaurant next to the swimming pool (open for pool users during the day) and the food and wine were great as was the magical view of the Old City walls illuminated at night.
There are 2 swimming pools, one indoors and one outside on the roof, as well as there being full spa facilities and massage available, although we did not use these.
Position wise the hotel is well situated on the edge of the German Colony and walkable to the Old City and many Jerusalem sites.
All in all, the Orient is a hotel we would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Jerusalem.

Visited for one night with my wife.
Lie no 1.- they charge you the "modest" price of US$600/night!!! for room with small balcony and view of old city (according to hotel website) - well madam hotel manager, from room 723 you have to be acrobat and do snapling to try and see something from the old city.
Lie no 2 - we have been told that sunset view from rooftop bar is something not to be missed. Upon check in We double checked that rooftop bar is open. We shortcut a meeting to be on time for sunset just to find out that bar was closed!
Just few more 'small" things:
A. When we first enter the room, we found that someone was in the room before us and it wasn't properly cleaned. Dirty towel, papers on the floor (we are still in Corona time madam hotel manager!)
B. For the outrageous price of US$600/night, you can be a bit more generous and put 2 bottles of water for couple.

One good word about the staff of the main bar who try to handle the story and comfort us the best they could.

Stay away!!!

It is a nice property, location too. The room in Heritage building is very tiny and when you enter that building there s a smell of some heavy cleaning products. The bathroom is very strange as you have a window in your shower? The walls and the bathroom doors were all in some strange stains. Tried changing the room but with no luck. I guess they didnt care to even check or find a solution. Just to mention we were a group of 200 ppl, hotel doesnt know how to deal with such a large group and make an individual care and not treat “us” as non important customers.
When calling a FD or room service you get an answer like “ we ll see what we can do”. Then u need to call several times in order for something to happen.
During dinner we tried ordering tea, cofee and they declined saying that is against “hotel policy”. Even addressed the issue to the manager and he said also if u want to drink tea or coffee go somewhere else. Didnt experience such an attitude ever in my life!
During breakfast Shelly came by as she remembered some of us from summer stay and even she was surprised by hotel policy not to accommodate a simple request for tea, cofee…
Anyway would stay only in Waldorff Astoria when in Jerusalem, and would recommend to anyone that understands “true five star experience” to do the same

A very solid 5 star hotel with a great soft and superb hard products. From checkin to checkout we had a very comfortable and relaxing stay enjoying all the facilities the hotel had to offer; their indoor pool and sauna were great places to chill after a long day out on foot, the business lounge accessible through Suite room bookings on the 8th floor was a surprise at what was on offer, the staff at the front desk were always available for any requests we had and the gym was functional. The breakfast buffet was absolutely superlative with every wish met from smoothies to pancakes to vegan and local delicacies. Our suite 344 was outside the main hotel building and had the most comfortable bed with luxurious linens; cleaning was impeccable and the mini bar was sufficient. The hotel was easily accessible by taxi/Uber from TLV airport with a speedy 1 hour drive. They require a 500 NIS deposit per night and a welcome drink was offered. The location was an easy 30 minute walk to all main tourist spots and a bus stop was just outside the front door. Room service was standard and prompt. The hotel has really invested in all the right areas to make everyone feel welcome. Highly recommended and would return.

Another great hotel by Isrotel.

It was our first stay at the Orient and we loved it. The whole hotel is fantastic, the staff are great and really good choice that we would highly recommend to other travellers.

The hotel lobby is lovely and there is a lovely bar/ restaurant in the lobby.

The rooms are great and my tip would be try to get a ground floor room as you get a private patio area too. The upstairs rooms have balconies but the patio is great.

There is an indoor swimming pool too so if you are travelling in the winter you can still swim!

The breakfast is a typical Israeli breakfast and has a great range of gorgeous foods

Location wise the hotel is next to Emek Refaim and around a 15 minute walk to Mamilla.

We loved the hotel and will def look to book again when we next visit Jerusalem.

Modern hotel between boutique hotel and big hotel.
Staff were amazing, smart, nice and help guest for everything. Is good point of hotel.
Good location Also front of new train station is food market really good if you have kids you can give them eat before you go out and also play area for kids.
Spa gréât indoor swimming pool wow amazing little bit cold water.
Breakfast fast fresh but miss some items for 5 stars hotel some buffet are very small as bread or croissant .
Lobby and interior court very beautiful.
Room modern little bit small for Jerusalem compare to other hotel in same category. Really need to improve cleaning in room 3 days the powder of milk baby stays front on tv. Bathroom spacious only raw material are bronze so is looking like old or not clean.
Don’t waste your money for old city view can’t see is to far and need to be on side of terrace to see.
Bad point rooftop swimming pool really not swimming pool for 5 stars hotel. Not transat only chairs impossible to relax in middle of week not space to seat. Too many people on the water isn’t intimist. The view is really beautiful but for relax time you have to choose other hotel in Jerusalem.
For winter is good place to be.

Positives: the hotel is attractive, in a good location and clean. The food is very good, plentiful with a lot of choice. The staff is friendly and, mostly, efficient.
If you care about “being green,” this is not the place—I kept thinking of the carbon footprint! The lights never fully go off if you are in the room and the towels are washed and replaced every day. There is no way to have a completely dark room- even at night as there is a “Night” setting which lights up the floor and ceiling with low light. Additionally, there is a large “cloudy,” translucent window between the bedroom and bathroom so if the bathroom light is left on at night, the light comes in through the window into the room.
The hotel is not very friendly to Sabbath observers. Among other things, and the most annoying thing, is that there is a computerized system involved in keeping lights on for the Sabbath so as not to trigger the sensor system. Lots of workers were in and out of our room to get the lights right. Despite lots of reassurance, the lights did not function as they were supposed to on either Shabbat and we were, literally, left in the dark. Shabbat dinner was very expensive and not well organized.
Not a big deal but annoying: One of our rooms had no clock; the attendant assured us she would request one; it never came. There was no brewed decaf coffee – only instant. We were unable to change money on three different occasions- they did not have shekels.

We booked this hotel for a 50th Anniversary celebration. We won't make this mistake again.

We requested a large room in a Heritage Building. We were told there would be no terrace and that it would be a low floor. In what world does this mean a basement room with no windows or light?? And this room was an upgrade and quite expensive. When we requested a change, we were told we must go down to Reception. We went down, and the person who checked us in ( Fadi) proceeded to scream at us, in full view of everyone in the lobby. Finally, we were given a nice ( but outdated) suite in the main building. We were told by workers in the hotel that the room we had initially been given was so dismal, that every person who checked into it requested a change.

The hotel was insanely overcrowded. Apparently, because of the lack of tourists from overseas, the hotel booked large groups. At some point, we waited 15 minutes for an elevator.

Breakfast, while plentiful and varied, was similarly crowded and very noisy. Again, overbooked. And breakfast was served until 10:30. Why not extend the hours in the face of such crowding??

We paid extra for The Lounge.
Out of the three days we were at the hotel, The Lounge was closed for one whole day, and opened late another day.

The rooftop pool was beautiful. Too bad that it, too, was very crowded with alot of young adults who thought the best way to have a good time was to speak as loudly as possible and treat the pool as their private playground.

The only good service we received was from the cleaning staff, who were unfailingly polite.

In summary.....The Orient was a huge disappointment.

Suffice it to say, we stayed at The Inbal a few weeks ago, and both the room and the service were exemplary. We should have stayed with a safe bet.

Dear yagoodi, I was sorry to read that your last vacation at our hotel did not match your expectations. The stunning Orient Jerusalem, part of the Isrotel Exclusive Collection, offers a vacation experience of unparalleled elegance amid the bustling cosmopolitan city. Its central location makes it the perfect starting point for exploring a vast array of local attractions, including the First Station (the historic train station-turned-entertainment hub), sprawling Liberty Bell Park, Mishkenot Sha'ananim (the first neighborhood to be built outside the Old City walls), and a wealth of restaurants and boutiques within the German Colony. It is important to note that the dates of your stay are characterized by high occupancy in our hotels and therefore you may have felt light loads at some of the service stations in the hotel. At the same time, I would like to point out that the Isrotel hotel chain prepares, as it does every year, ahead of time for the many guests who want to stay in our hotels All of your comments have been taken to our attention and brought to the attention of the parties concerned.
