The Arava Hostel upgraded Me this o a second floor room with a balcony, a view, great water pressure and quiet. Special thanks to Ruth, to Tony and other hostel staff for making my stay relaxing and comfortable. The included breakfast was always fresh and theres a full kitchen for the guests to use. There’s a dorm for the more budget traveler and family rooms as well. The beautifully landscaped gardens are a lovely place to kick back, read and slow down. The only drawback was the 20 minute walk to the beach. Thought it was a lot closer. Recommend Arava to those who prefer lower key, more personal and less expensive lodging.great place to start a hike as well.

The hostel was great for my stay of a week in Eilat. The location is perfect as the city Center highlights and beaches are all walking distance in 10/15 minutes. The hostel staff are very helpful and friendly. They helped me with all my travel documents and tours, during my stay and I only have good words to describe my time here. The private rooms are good in size, very clean and mine even had a private terrace to enjoy the Israeli sun although the common garden space downstairs is where I found myself most of the time, they have a lovely garden with hammocks and outdoor seating set in a palm tree filled oasis, perfect for resting you feet after a long day walking. I would totally recommend this hostel which also includes free breakfast!

Door would not stay latched. People laughing and talking in hallway till midnight. At it again at 7:00 a.m. Leak in shower head sprayed water out over the stall. Soaked entire bathroom. Used towel to mop it up. But then found out they charge for any extra towels! Breakfast was good. But, then they told me I had to wash my own dishes! Place is quite worn with rough maintenance being done. Walls are very thin. Room is cramped. Not a chair to be used. This is my first day here. Staying one day. However, Hotels.com told me "the review period has expired". Sounds like they are discouraging reviews? The "HI" chain of international hostels is exceptional. But the little local ones are not reliable. I will not stay at one of them ever again. Sorry, but you need to hear this.

Dear Sir. I'd like to say, I am sorry that you feel this way and that you were disappointed. I always advise our guests to approach us at the front desk and point out the problems that you experiencing, if you do not say anything how will we know? About your saying that we have a poor maintenance I disagree with you since we have 2 maintenance man that all we ask them to fix they do it immediately! Some things that you complain about were childish and you need to review yourself. Every business have their on rules! it says that we give towels and every extra one will cost 3 shekel and if we ask everyone to wash the plate after they eat you should except that and do it like all our guests do! The hostel management checks every legit complain and do all we can to correct! you can see the reviews from prior guests. You need to look at the good things in life I think you will be happier! Be well, Ruth

We checked in on Friday afternoon and the arrived to our dormitory. The room was small and modest but for 100 shekels it was reasonable. On Saturday morning we left early to the Red Sea and arrived back at the hotel in the afternoon. Upon arriving back, we were "greeted" by an angry man who was yelling at us that we arrived past 12pm, which was apparently the check out time. Upon check in, we were not told that check out is at 12pm. All we did was leave one bag in the room and for that we were told we would have to pay another night to retrieve our bags because we arrived past 12pm. So after a wonderful stay on Friday night, and a beautiful day snorkeling in the Red Sea, we left Eilat remembering two staff members of the hostel yelling at us for a mistake that was not our fault. If you are so insistent about the check out time being 12pm, then please remind me when I check in. Friendly is the last word I would use to describe this place. I left on Saturday without being able to use the bathroom because I was kicked out. I will certainly never come back here and I suggest that if you come here, watch out for the angry staff. Life is a beautiful thing, and to get angry for little things and ruin someone's vacation is not worth it. Shavua Tov.

Great single rooms, nice terrace, great breakfast buffet, helpful reception, tours can be booked at the hostel. What else could you ask for in life. I need one more sentence to get to 200 characters. ;-)
