This Hotel should be the first choice to everyone who has to wait longer for their flight. Comfortable,Clean, and a welcoming, kind and helpful staff. There is also a big shopping mall near, only 15 minutes to spend some extra time. Totally I would reccomended!!

When I explained to the taxi driver at a plush 4 star hotel on the Asian side that I wanted him to take me to a budget hotel near the airport he looked at me as if i was mad. I only read the tripadvisor reviews on the way and did have some trepidations - in general however I was very happy with my one night stay. To address a few comments I read in other reviews. -15 minutes to the airport… at 07.15 on a Tuesday morning with (for Istanbul) light traffic it was more like 25 - The airplane noise keeps you awake… I’m a light sleeper and I managed to sleep well. - It’s in the middle of nowhere… Yes and no - if you are thinking rural retreat think again, this is on a busy road with a few shops and take aways within a 2 minute walk. I had full 4G+ and was able to download 6GB of the Portugese F1 GP in a bit over an hour. This is an airport hotel - if you come here for local amenities you are likely to be disappointed! Reception staff were supremely friendly - the “bellboy” / porter who in my experience in Turkey usually talks until you tip him just showed me to the room and left. My room was large and clean - ample mains and USB sockets. The “desk” was on the small side, but I managed to use a laptop comfortably for a few hours. My plan for my one night stay was to get a few beers, join a Teams meeting for 30 minutes, then drink the beers and sleep well…. The room service menu was alcohol free. The supermarket which shares the same building on the ground floor was similarly dry… There was a large, very impressive mosque very close and none of the shops / restaurants locally seemed to serve alcohol. In the spirit of burning a few calories before drinking them I walked about 10 minutes down the hill and managed to find an off license. The room had a fridge - a few beers, some water for the night - job done. I did pop out again later for some food. I love Turkish food, so 17TL (less than 2 GBP today) saw me with enough Cig Kofte for 2 people comfortably - international options are also available but for a bit more money. Big problem now - unfortunately when I woke up and tried to have a shower at approximately 6.30am there was no hot water. I left the tap running for a full 5 minutes - not even warm. The only real disappointment in what was otherwise a great - value - hotel. I booked the hotels transfer service. I could have paid a third the price by taxi, but the Mercedes van was a nice touch. Only downside was that the seatbelts were not working - I’ve lived to tell the tale, but adverts with elephants crashing through windscreens have left their mark on me! For approximately half the price of a “close to airport” hotel and less than a third of the price of an “on airport” hotel I would certainly stay here again if the occasion arose.

WARNING!!! this hotel has now changed its name to HIDDEN HILLS.still shows up on google and booking sites as menalo suites express istanbul airport.my taxi driver could not find it at first as it had just changed its name.the hotel is in a residential village with a supermarket next door and plenty of places around to eat.the hotel cost me £23 with breakfast, instead of the stupid price of the on site hotel YOTEL £120.its a 50 lira(£5) taxi ride maybe cheaper if your taxi driver knows where he is going.the hotel itself is clean and the rooms reminded me of a radisson blu sort of layout and room design.the internet speed at this hotel is the fastest i have ever had at a hotel over 70mbps .if leaving the hotel early in the morning . suggest using the hotels shuttle service more expensive at 150 lira.but better than hailing a taxi at 4:30 in the morning.will let my pictures do the talking to show how good this hotel is (see below)will stay here again if i need an airport hotel for IST.many thanks to the front desk staff
