This hotel was our absolute favorite during our entire Turkish vacation! The way that the hotel is laid out, made it feel like we were experiencing Istanbul as a local, and not a tourist, almost like we had our own apartment in this lovely city. The room itself, was spotlessly clean. The staff is really going above and beyond to make guests feel safe during Covid -- handing out sanitizer, wipes, and even disinfecting our passports on arrival. The room was decorated beautifully, and the bathroom was HUGE with a large shower and separate tub area. The breakfast was delicious, a huge spread of baked goods, olives, etc. and also hot meals like eggs and pancakes to order as well. We ate one night in the courtyard restaurant (not all of the restaurants were open when we were there) and the food was delicious. It was a small menu, but a decent variety if you are looking for something light and quick. My husband and I used the jacuzzi or the Hammam one day, it was included in our Hilton Gold status. I'd definitely recommend, it's truly a unique experience. You rent it for one hour at the front desk and have it completely to yourself, it's very relaxing.

The one thing to note is that it's very hard to locate the hotel, Google Maps takes you to a random location, that's not the front desk. Luckily, this must happen a lot with guests and a nearby shop owner ended up calling the hotel on our behalf. Within minutes a staff member showed up with a golf cart to take us the rest of the way. I'd recommend giving the hotel a call when you arrive, and they will come to you.

Great overall stay and can't wait to come back again soon!

Any first time visitor to Istanbul should consider staying at this hotel for its location and easy of pedestrian access to anything located in the old part of Istanbul. Our visit was marred by our arrival and the transfer that was arranged through the hotel – no one was at the airport to greet us and we had to wait for hours as the hotel continued to assure us that someone would be there soon. I found it odd that we had to pay the ride company directly in cash – why the cost could not be added to the hotel bill puzzles me. That aside, the hotel itself is scattered across several buildings around the Hagia Sophia – which adds a certain level of charm and intimacy to the rooms and accommodation. Most guests are met, then whisked to check in via a golf cart. I could imagine this being very crowded on busy days. The check in was quick, the staff was overly attentive in my opinion (as a result of the ride mix up upon arrival). Still, they were polite enough to upgrade us into a larger room. There are no elevators (lifts) in the buildings but the staff is happy to carry your bags. Our porter, Jack, was one of the most polite people we met in all of Istanbul. The rooms were clean, well designed, and cleaned regularly. In the bathroom, there were some items that were missing and upon request, took some time to obtain, such as a wash cloth. Just odd that a hotel bathroom would not have a wash cloth. The breakfast served on site was awesome, a mix of local Turkish items and traditional breakfast items. The coffee was good and the quality of the food was good as well. I am aware that we are in a central and historical area, so improvements, construction and refurbishment is a given. But the hotel could let guests now when they assign them rooms to lessen the noise or other issues.

Booked a twin room for 6 nights and was not disappointed with room 2801. It is ground floor, short walk from hotel courtyard/reception and eastern side of the Hagia Sofia. The historic buildings are a beautiful tourist attraction in itself and attract quite a lot of attention from passers by looking for the perfect instagram photo. Rooms are beautifully decorated, clean and well maintained (I believe the rooms were decorated in late 2019). The twin room that we were allocated was incredibly spacious with 2 large beds, a corner sofa, desk and huge bathroom. 2 free water bottles are provided each day (4 for Gold status). Slippers and bathrobes are included along with some reasonable quality toiletries. There is a kettle with tea/coffee and a fridge.

In order to use the pool, you need to call reception to book a 1 hour slot in advance. There was not an issue in getting time in the pool. They also offer massages should you so desire in the rooms below the pool, further underground. This spa space looks beautiful, clean and very inviting.

Keep in mind on arrival, the hotel lobby is located north side of the Hagia Sofia. My friend and I arrived to where google maps pointed us to the building on Kabasakal Cd next to the Istanbul Crafts Centre. However that building is currently closed due to covid (no sign saying the building was closed). The good news is that the shop owner next to this building called the hotel who promptly sent one of the staff in a buggy to collect us and our bags and whisk us away to the main lobby. The lobby feels covid safe, with all staff wearing masks, social distance notices on the floor, sanitiser station at the entrance and also requests from staff to wear mask should you forget.

The hotel rooms are adjacent to the Hagia Sofia Mosque, so you can expect to hear the call to prayer very early (around 5.45am during our stay). The call echoes across the city, so this is just an expectation when you stay in Istanbul.

The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Thanks to all on reception who were willing to advise and help with all of our questions during our stay.

The only slight issue that we had was that the entrance door to our building (2801) was a little noisy, so staying on the ground floor meant that you could hear the door clicking (and slamming) as and when other guests (and staff) come and go. We advised the staff upon our departure of this and they have promised to fix this.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, and should I return to Istanbul, I will be looking no further than to stay here. I loved every moment of my stay. Thanks Hagia Sofia Mansions for making our Istanbul holiday so memorable.

My wife and I just returned from Istanbul after spending 3 nights at this incredible property! This was one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in anywhere in the world!

We are Hilton diamond members and were treated like royalty every step of of the way. We had booked a standard King room but were automatically upgraded to a beautiful Topkapi suite. This room was very large with a separate sitting area with a sofa sleeper and extra half bath. The main room had a very comfortable king bed and you could see the Hagia Sofia from the window. The master bath was really nice, with a double vanity, a large soaking tub, and a huge shower with a Turkish bath. The room was tastefully furnished in an Ottoman style which was very fitting for the location. Our diamond status also got us free breakfast daily at the Sofia Terrace, and got us complimentary access to their amazing pool/jacuzzi which is built into an actual Roman cistern—we were able to book this privately just for us to be used for 45 minutes, it was breathtaking.

If you are wanting to hit the main historic tourist attractions in Istanbul, the location cannot be beat. The hotel is a series of buildings (mansions) on a cobblestone pedestrian street between the Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace, making these locations as well as Sultanahmet square and the Blue Mosque all within short walking distance. If you want to use public transportation, the Sultanahmet and Gulhane tramway stations are both within walking distance as well.

The staff and service was top notch. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and they made every effort to make sure our stay was perfect. Special thanks to Betul in the guest relations department who went above and beyond with a couple of our requests. If there is anything you need while you’re in Istanbul, they will take care of it for you.

One thing to note is if you’re taking a taxi to the hotel, the drop off location is a bit far from the reception—you need to call the hotel to let them know when you arrive so they can send a golf cart to pick you up with your luggage and drive you to reception. They will then drive you and your luggage to your room after you check in. Regular cars cannot access the pedestrian road where the buildings are.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone planning a trip to Istanbul, particularly if you want to be in the Sultanahmet district.

The hotel is laid out a little like a resort, in that there were over 50 mansions, all laid around a courtyard behind the mosque - it makes it so peaceful and serene.

The rooms were decorated to such a high standard, with so much marble in the bathroom, and beautiful blue and white mosaic tiles, with a free standing tub. The bed and wood work were so ornate -so luxurious.

The check in staff were incredible, so friendly and polite.

The breakfast was in an amazing spot, with a view of the hagia Sophia mosque, and it was table service - i think they are getting used to the Corona adjustments, as on days the table service was a little slow, and the staff did need reminding but completely understandable.

I'd reccomend this hotel without hesitation, and would certainly stay again.

First, Hlton owning and running this property comes as a shock as one normally associates Hilton with more commercial establishments. Having said that, the staff, supervised by the resident manager Mr Zaman are a superb team, from the buggy and bell boys to the waiters and the housekeeping. A special thanks to Rukiye the super nice, and friendly concierge and tour operator and resident guide. I am genuinely indebted to her for her help in pointing me to the right shops and great restaurants. She accompanied me with some other guests to the bazaar and was so patient and smiling despite having had a long day.
Muammar and Mehmet [hope I got the names right] who helped me on several occasions driving me around the old town in the much welcome buggy [for rainy days and when one is tired holding shopping bags] are super helpful and lovely people.
Breakfast is amazing. far better than the Four Seasons Bosphorus breakfast I had on checking into that hotel after 4 nights bcs of a previous booking schedule.
The hotel is on a small pedestrian street but that is not an issue as the buggy is always available to drive guests around and take them to the taxi station or drop them at other restaurants in the area.
Topkapi and Hagia Sophia and the Sulemaniya Mosque are all closely located and a short walk away. The hotel comprises rooms and suites in several villas along the street and its main enclosure. The idea is lovely and the interiors are stunning. My suite the Topkapi suite was beautiful. The bedlinen and towels are high end, the mattress and pillows a dream to sleep on.
The bathroom was stunning all blue and white tiled with a marble private hammam and a lovely bath tub in the main bath section. The floor was heated and very welcome as it was cold during my stay.
I absolutely loved the beautiful suite which is so romantic and belongs to another era, one of class and elegance and comfort.
The housekeeping was so thorough and sanitising was one of very high standards with packed towels being brought in daily.
I just wish they had better toiletries as I didn't like the lotion which was a bit grainy. Otherwise I cannot fault this hotel for anything. The value for money was amazing and one gets the experience of a lifetime. Its gorgeous and I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Istanbul. This was my sixth visit to Istanbul and I had planned to stay in Sultanahmet this time so I was very happy I got to discover this gem, run by an amazing team. Hilton higher ups should be really proud of this team.

This was my 5th visit to Istanbul.
We recently stayed at Hagia Sophia Mansions by Curio Hilton.
You cannot get a better Location if you want to stay in the Historic Sultanahmet area in Istanbul.
The hotel is in between the walls of the Topkapi palace and the Hagia Sophia.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
As a Hilton Diamond Member we were given an upgraded room.
The indoor pool is unique and worth a visit.
Bookings have to be made to use the pool facilities due to covid restrictions.
We felt like VIP’s when we were shuttled around Sultanahmet with the hotel golf carts.
Please note the hotel rooms are spread out over a few buildings and the google maps location is not that of the main reception area. The roads around the hotel are closed off to traffic and you have to call a hotel golf cart should you need to get to a road with public access.
We will definitely return to this historic hotel.

We have stayed in this hotel for 3 days, and we did not have the best impression of it. In the beginning, the reception staff did not notify us that breakfast is an additional charge. While at night, the security was shouting, laughing, loudly talking with each other near our room, so we could not sleep. Rooms are very tight, no space for free walking. The bathroom did not contain basic dental and shaving kits. The conditioner is relatively weak and cannot make the room very cool.

The location of the hotel is the only great thing since most showplaces are very close. The hotel's overall concept is interesting, but I wouldn't say I liked that the paths we walk to reception/cafes are overcrowded with tourists who are not guests of the hotel.

I could write a essay on how fantastic this hotel is, however I don’t want to ramble on too much.

Firstly the welcoming was so nice, we were greeted by staff and taken in a buggy to the hotel main entrance.I could already tell by the reception just how classy this hotel was.

We were upgraded which was most appreciated we stayed in the Topaki suite and wow it was just out of this world. It has a lounge room with separate bedroom and bathroom. The decor of this hotel is striking it’s designed in such a way that you feel the historical style but it’s also such a modern feel they really got this right. The bathrooms are absolutely gorgeous with a stand alone deep bath and a separate shower and Hammam. What I love the most are the stunning bedside lamps in the bedroom. I can’t fault a single thing.

The housekeeping were very good and we allways felt it had been cleaned well, bed sheets changed, new robes left and the bedsheets were off superb quality as I’m very picky.

The main restaurant is closed due to covid but I absolutely loved the little outside cafe by reception it had such a peaceful feeling and I enjoyed nothing more than enjoying my evening lattee. Let me tell you I have stayed in 5 hotels during my 18 night stay in Istanbul and this is the only one that had delicious lattee with the correct milk to coffee ratio etc.

The cistern jacuzzi is amazing, you have to book a 45 minute slot and it will be all yours. I didn’t even bother visiting the cistern basiclia as I had the opportunity to swim in a fraction of it underground. I didn’t try the spa but it looked great and the gym and changing rooms spotless and gorgeous.

This hotel is one of a kind and I truly can say you won’t find better in that area. It’s literally a 2 minute walk to topaki castle! Location is amazing and you can’t get any closer than what we did.

The manager Zamanfer was gracious and is doing an amazing job within management. He always made sure we were happy with our stay and always asked us if we needed anything.

Book this hotel you will not be disappointed, im a fussy traveler and this place was 10/10 for me no questions asked. You will find many hotels with 5* in Istanbul but the curio delivers in every single area and does not undercut it does everything to ensure the guest is king.

The first thing that hits you about the Hagia Sofia Mansions is the beautiful location, As soon as you get off your taxi you are whisked away in a buggy right across the main gate of the Topkapi Palace, down behind the Hagia Sofia to reach your hotel. The rooms were excellent and spacious, although the bathroom bidet had this habit of overflowing due to extremely high pressure. Watch out for that.
The breakfast was excellent although the service could have been faster. The waiters looked a bit flustered especially when more people came in, although this might be because of covid regulations where you have to sit and be served instead of being served buffet style.
The one real hiccup we had was with our luggage. When we checked in we left our luggage at the reception expecting it to be sent up immediately. Our room was only one floor above so it should not have taken long at all. We had to wait more than an hour! Since we had to small kids in tow this was very annoying.
Another point to note is the noise at night. Every time a door shut in the building our bed would shake! Since the hotel is in an old restored mansion this is might be understandable but not at all expected if you are used to staying in a traditional purpose built hotel.
All in all a great place to stay!

You can try contacting them via the main Hilton number.

There are two buildings where they do check-ins and have staff working constantly. Each of these buildings has a public area. A lot of their spaces are outdoors, BUT the restaurant does have indoors dining. There is a bar (that I have not visited) on the property. The pool is a fun (and warm!) place where people can gather, but you need to book ahead as it is very popular. There are also many restaurants near by. You'll find many gathering places have outdoor spaces still open with outdoor heaters. Have a terrific time! I love Istanbul!

Could you make arrangements for transfers from the airport to your hotel?

When getting a transfer to hotel, be aware that there are two separate parts of the Hagia Sofia Mansions. Try to find out which one you will be in. Also, the hotel is in the pedestrian area around the mosque, so a shuttle has to pick you up. Cars can't go directly to the door of the hotel. Other than that, it's great.
