I stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and I decided to revisit this place and see whether they have improved or not. Apparently, the hotel did not improve.....it turns out to be worse than before. The bed is full of ants and the toilet bowl is clogged and could not be flushed. The linens are stained and the breakfast sucks. The staff have a lackadaisical attitude, that made the whole stay very unpleasant. Best to avoid unless you want to sleep with some insects in your room.

This hotel is built initially to accommodate a casino but the whole deal turn sour and the hotel is not being "abandoned" at best. Even though the pool and rooms look splendid on the picture, when you are actually at the property, it is not the case. The location is way out of the city and there is a karaoke that operated till the wee hours of the morning. In for an adventure? You can try it out.......you speak for yourself after experiencing it.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Arrived here after backpacking for a month and sleeping in rooms that were as cheap as £4 a night so we thought we would treat ourselves to some luxury. When we arrived we quickly realised we were the only guests in the whole hotel - the place was eery to say the least. Checked into our room, dumped our bags and decided to take a look round... Let's just say it looked NOTHING like the pictures on booking.com ... Pool full of algae, bars closed, cafe closed, and no guests. Pool was full of locals using facilities for free.
We decided that our money was being wasted so tried to get our money back and leave which resulted in a 40 minute battle with the staff who spoke no English.
The hotel manager tried to charge us money to get back into Vientiane. No apologies or sincerity, I was scared for my life as they laughed and spoke Laos to one another.
Worst experience we have had in Laos/ south east Asia... back to the hostels we go!!!

Checked out after 1 night, best avoided.

Pros: new building, big swimming pool, well apportioned rooms renovated to a good standard.

Cons:
Very few staff speak enough English to make communication possible. This resulted in frustration from multiple staff blunders incl just one (wrong) meal being delivered when there were obviously two of us dining, with chilli despite our going to the trouble of asking for no chilli in Lao ('Bo Pet').
Internet was fast enough for a skype voice call at 6PM, but by 8 PM onwards both the wired room and reception wifi had dropped off to snails pace. Staff were clueless, and after wasting our time eventually admitted that this had been happening for the past week, but meekly blamed their ISP.
The swimming pool is dirty, staff appear to be unable/unwilling to vacuum the entire floor, leaving lots of debris floating and settled on the floor. A dubious design has their two over water bridges so low that you can't swim beneath safely - an OH&S issue in western countries, especially for kids. My partner and I both were subjected to a member of staff charting towards us to demand that we tell them if we were staying at the hotel and for our room number - leaving us feeling as if we were unwelcome criminals who had broken an entry.
Charges: An attempt was made at check-out to charge a US exchange rate that was 4% less competitive than the 4 other hotels and multiple restaurants had charged us. Despite the member of staff serving being the only one who was proficient in English, he point blank ignored multiple requests to talk with his manager. On request number 5, he eventually acquiesced, called his manager and reduced the rip off down to 1% instead of 4%. Most establishments in Lao are honest and don't try scalp you on the USD exchange rate.
Restaurant: They defend smokers rights in the in-door restaurant, so if you're a non-smoker you're out of luck. This is uncommon in Lao. A member of staff explained that this was due to their being a Chinese hotel.
Don't bother to set your wake-up alarm, as the plastic boxes impersonating rocks outside will wake you at 6:30AM, and will continue playing throughout the day. Trying to be Disney World?
Live music near the pool finished about 11:15PM. Practically no drink options at the bar. Next door hotel offered decent options.
Breakfast: since there were only 4 rooms occupied, no breakfast buffet was served. We were allowed to order from the menu, but needed to pay a premium for items that were not considered equivalent to breakfast.
This hotel is VERY far away from the town, and so should be a discounted to compensate.
We got the feeling that this hotel was created for older gentlemen seeking pleasures of the night away from home after seeing scantily clad young ladies in reception and and in the karaoke area, then noticing older gentlemen follow. The sensational advertising and pricing of the karaoke had us scratching our heads wondering what value could be delivered at prices that were way way higher than Sydney's.

A member of staff blamed the multiple issues with the fact that their hotel had not yet officially 'opened'. Sounds like an application developer claiming that bugs are to be expected due to the app being 'beta'. Beta apps are normally either free or very cheap. This hotel by contrast is VERY expensive compared with others in Vientiane.

Won't be returning, and I wish the owner the best of success in getting it right.
