Was at this hotel for 1 night and my review as follows:
1) Location:
This hotel is located not near the usual riverside of the city which is where most actions are. However, it has a few chinese restaurant surrounding the hotel and the chinese restaurant just two units away from the hotel serves good chinese cusine although it is a bit pricey (but it wasnt that expensive). I did not see any fast food nearby the hotel nor any minimarket. Therefore, I am not very sure whether the hotel location is good and handy as we arrive in the evening and was just staying at the hotel for 1 night before we start our journey from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap.
2) Hotel Outlook, Lobby & Check In
Hotel does look tiny and miserable from outside but once u enter the hotel, the lobby seems to be on the modern side and very nicely heavily decorated. It does look luxury. Check in was ok but could be faster. Hotel serves some welcome drink (some herbal tea) and cold towels during check in. Check in was ok but not particularly fast.
3) Room 306a and 307a
Room 306a is a superior twin room while 370 is king bed suite i think because it was very spacious. Both rooms were modern, nicely decorated and trendy. Air cond for both rooms works well too. Bed and pillows were good for 4 star hotel standard. Overall, I am happy and did have a good sleep.
4) Rooftop Pool
Unfortunately the pool was not infinity.
5) Buffet Breakfast
Despite a lot of reviewers raving about how good this hotel buffet breakfast, I seem to have a different opinion about the breakfast spread. In terms of food selection, Yes, there is an egg station and noodle corner but the hot food selections are a bit limited. Breakfast area was also tight and crowded. What I didnt like was there was no fresh fruit juices being provided - instead the hotel is serving two types of bottled juices which were too sweet for my liking. I really hope the hotel can offer fresh fruit juices in the future. Anyway for a 4 star city hotel standard, I still think this hotel can offer better breakfast standard.

This hotel has 2 elevators and it was nicely decorated.
Overall, i think this was an ok hotel in central Phnom Penh. The Buffet Breakfast spread is just average and can be improved in the future.

As Americans living in Siem Reap, we have been staying at the G Mekong every month for a getaway during the Covid-19 crisis. First I want to praise Kanahry Keat at the front desk desk for always being super helpful upon our arrival as well as her prompt emails for our requests. But all the staff are incredibly helpful including the friendly restaurant employees and housekeeping. The food at their hotel is four star and they offer a 30% discount on food and drink as well. While many other hotels have closed their swimming pool, sky bar and gym, the G Mekong has all their services open. Just simply the best. Looking forward to our return November 6th 2020.

Clean and comfortable beds.
Nice breakfast.
Friendly staff.
Disadvantages:
Heavy smell of tubes in the room.
Zero day light in the room with a window (it faces three concert walls).
The restaurant downstairs did not suit us for dinner and we had to go outside (slightly overpriced, the menu does not correspond to what they really have available).
Washing sink is not separated from the bedroom and there is always a feeling of sleeping in the kitchen.
Resume:
Personally I would not come back, the hotel does not make me feel comfortable.

This hotel is tired and shabby the pool area is dirty and the pool furniture all broken. They also ask for a $50 deposit on arrival and no other hotel done that when we were travelling Vietnam and Cambodia. The staff at breakfast are rude and unhelpful more interested in chatting to themselves. The bedroom we stayed in was tired and dated and but beds were comfortable. The location is not good either area really dirty and we felt unsafe walking about. To top it off when we were checking out the rude staff member who checked us out gave us our deposit back with a ripped $20 which I didn’t notice until went to use it at airport but of course unable to use it. Contacted the hotel by phone and emailed them to say but not even decency to respond or apologise. Honestly don’t go to this hotel was the worst one we stayed in on our 3 week trip.

The hotel offers a decent roof top pool gym and a rich breakfast. Rooms are modern, large with a minimalist style.
Though slightly away from the center with restaurants the comfort and easy access makes up for this.
Despite a small I hick-up at check-in (beware some rooms have windows facing a wall!) the management immediately rectified the issue in a superb professional way.
All staff very helpful and the friendliness of a small hotel.
As for many Cambodia hotels they are slightly behind on tourists activities but I would not consider that a fault of the hotel as that service is still new in this wonderful country.
A small hint 80 meters to the right exiting the hotel there is a huge bookstore with great amps and guide books on first floor.
Though slightly away from the center with restaurants the comfort and easy access makes up for this.

The lobby when you enter the premises looks really good until you get to the the reception,you then see a lot off Chinese people taking their temperature and that is not reassuring at the moment! If they are supposed to isolate themselves they shouldn’t be in the public areas including the restaurant.
The staff are very helpful and courteous
The housekeeping is not that good and the the rooms need to be refreshed very soon.
We were upgraded to a suite but I would have preferred a standard room in a good state with a door to the toilet that you can shut!

I'm sure this hotel was wonderful when it was young, but now it is clear that the owner doesn't care about investing in upgrades and modernization. The rooms are decent size, and I found the bed comfortable, but the rest of the furniture was mismatched and in bad condition. The polished concrete floors are nice, but the cheap, cracking vinyl flooring is unacceptable. We spent a lot of time at the pool, and the checkerboard tile deck is filthy and should be washed with bleach every day. The grout is all falling out on the pool tiles, and in-poollights are 'hanging' out of the walls - very intimidating!! The staff are very young, very friendly but speak little English so prepare for exhausting ordering and conversations, and they seem to work excessive hours. Maybe that's their choice. So overall, we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay, but this tired old hotel needs a major overhaul!!!

First problem- whoever designed this hotel has never stayed in a hotel. There’s no rack or hook or anywhere to hang your towels and clothes so you can only put them on top of the toilet. The reading lights on either side of the bed share the same switch so both partners have to go to sleep the same time.
Second problem- getting service here is difficult. The first day we checked in, the bathroom door does not work we had to call 3 times eventually had to ask to speak to a manager to get maintenance to come fix the broken door. Today we had to called 3 times and waited for 2 1/2 hours to get someone to do the daily cleaning for our room. When asked to speak to a manager or supervisor on duty I was told they’re off on Sundays and other holidays.

Very disappointed with this hotel, we are currently on a tour of Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam and had booked all 4* hotels through the tour company but feel that this hotel is not 4* standard!
Our 1st room had no air conditioning working and the TV didn’t work, we immediately went to reception and asked if we could be moved rooms or the problems resolved! They said they would send someone up! No one arrived!!!!

Breakfast was very basic! Very Asian which is fine as we are here to experience that but very little fruit available!
We went to the pool one day and had to wait for approx 30 mins for a drink!
All small issues but combined would prevent us from returning!
We wouldn’t recommend!
Our 1st room had no air conditioning working and the TV didn’t work, we immediately went to reception and asked if we could be moved rooms or the problems resolved! They said they would send someone up! No one arrived!!!!

There are 12-15 halal restaurants within 1 mile, and 3 that are within 1/4 mile. I think they are only open lunch and dinner.

When we stayed here, the pool was open every day and has views over the City. The pool isn't heated, but still nice with the warm weather
