This was the third of three hotels we stayed in during 10 days in Vietnam and was by a long way the least impressive. The room was really quite small. Yes it was a double bed but it's nice for us to get out both sides without any clambering over one another. Narrow space overall. Housekeeping didn't happen (partly our fault for leaving a Do Not Disturb sign on there for a few hours by accident but the handbook's suggestion that they're on until 10pm turns out to be a lie.

A breakfast pack ordered 2 days in advance for an early departure to the airport turned up 10 minutes after the taxi should have left - it had obviously been forgotten about. The breakfast buffet was limited and uninspiring. It's a pity because the staff downstairs seem very smiley and nice, just a pity their hotek doesn't match up.

Dear Geoff, Thank you for choosing The Odys Boutique Hotel for your recent stay. We are very happy to hear your kind comments about our hotel's room bed. However we are also disappointed to hear some inconveniences from breakfast box service and Housekeeping didn't offer service maybe caused of the DND signage to respect your private . We highly appreciate your valuable comments to our hotel that they help us to provide a better service in the coming time. We hope to welcome you back to The Odys Boutique Hotel as your home faraway from home. Thank you & Best regards. Odys Team

While international travel is out of the question and domestic travel is still pretty weary, a staycation at The Odys Boutique Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1 sounded like a fantastic idea. A weekend getaway was the perfect way to fill that travel void I’d been craving these past couple of months!

Just walking up the stairs into the main lobby of The Odys we were instantly excited for our girls trip! We were greeted with a warm welcome from the front desk and made to feel right at home. After checking us in, the staff gave us some great recommendations as to what could be found close by (Marcel Gourmet Burger, Godmother Bake & Brunch, Gringo Tacos). Being a hotel in District 1 meant the options were absolutely endless!

Our room was absolutely perfect. It was clean, fresh and had all the amenities we needed to make our stay more than perfect! Each room was equipped with a mini bar, street food tasting offer, complimentary wifi, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, safety box, flat screen LCD TV with cable and air-conditioning. We were incredibly excited to kick back and relax.

On the 10th floor of The Odys, is the tasty Búp Restaurant which gives you 360-degree views of Saigon. Typically serving up a buffet breakfast and a la carte dining throughout the day, Búp’s menu is full of authentic Vietnamese cuisine! Yum!

Our mini-vacation close to home was exactly what we needed to switch things up. Waking up to a continental rooftop breakfast with views of Bitexco Financial Tower and afternoon strolls through the Fine Arts Museum was a pretty cool way to spend the weekend if you ask me. I just cannot recommend this hotel enough and with their rooftop pool nearly completed, there would be no better place to stay in Ho Chi Minh City. So, whether you’re looking for a fun staycation in the city or a fabulously located hotel in Saigon, The Odys should be your top choice!

One breakfast we had extremely salty pancakes, the pastry chef must have mistakenly put salt in the pancake mixture. But the waiting staff has offered their apology and immediately removed the offending pancakes.

Every day, the croissants served were an unforgivable sin and insult to the French cuisine. The croissants served were crushed, either the Pastry chef doesn't know what he is doing or the delivery boy should never sit on the croissants. The French baguettes were limped. Other food served at breakfast were underwhelming and below average for a 4* hotel.

The hotel looks nice, but upon closer inspection (if you stay longer), you will quickly begin to realize the substandard quality. Examples: the room safe is so light (made in China), i could literally fit it in my duffel bag. One ply toilet paper for a 4* hotel.

But wat makes my stay bearable and pleasant were their friendly and every helpful staff. I just pick up the phone call front office that my wifi is unstable, they instantly sent someone to fix it. Good job to the staffs minus the pastry chef

(Check photos) This hotel was the 5th one on our Vietnam trip and we thought we'll treat ourself to a bit more luxury and we were extremely disappointed with our stay. Yes the decor is nice but just don't look any closer...
🔹CLEANLINESS : When we arrived in our room I was surprised that our bed sheet were wrinkled which is unusual in hotel so I looked closer and it was covered in stain on the pillow case and the duvet and I even found hair on the pillowcase, looked like the bed sheet hadn't been changed. My bf tried to reassure me that it was maybe "clean stain" but than on top of wrinkles seemed weird to me. Turn around and there was flower/plant residue all over the floor and the bin, carpet had those residue as well and hair, there was no complimentary water (which should have been there as they were there the 2nd day) and the bathroom only had half a "bath foam" for shower gel. So as we went out to explore I stopped at reception and very nicely explain the situation of the state of the room, specifically for the bed and floor and ask for it to be changed and the floor to be done. When we came back only the pillow case had been changed and the floor had only been badly swept around the bin as there was still residue around the bin and carpet was definitely not done... That's shocking. A mistake can be made but coming back to a half done room after "complaining" of the first mistake is unacceptable especially in the time of the coronavirus epidemy, its simply a disgrace.
🔹STAFF : staff was just OK, definitely nothing compare to all the amazing staff we encounter at the beggining of our trip. We really felt that they were just there to take our money and goodbye. We called as our safe wasn't working the man came and unlock it and left straight away without checking if it was actually working now which it wasn't so we weren't able to use the safe at all, not that they cared.
🔹Rip off = we booked the shuttle from the airport which they charged us 500k dong for and that was fine except that on our way back to the airport we took a taxi as they didn't do the shuttle and the taxi charged us slightly over 100k dong. The hotel charged us 5 time that price for a lower quality car which was 10 minutes late to our pick up. On top of that we were charged 140$ for the room all included except that as I packed my bag leaving I thought that was high compare to what was the Vietnamese price in my booking reservation, went down and ask for the receipt that we were never given at check in and the total said 130$ which means the 1st receptionist overcharged us a full 10$...

Simply don't go there

I just would like to outline 2 huge missing points that made my stay extremely disappointing.

1. The hotel did not clean my room. Later afternoon (around 5pm) when noto ed that still nobody bothered to clean up my room, I went down to reception to ask why that wasn’t done and the answer was that they were busy that day so they just decided not to clean my room. So unacceptable! That’s the very basic service when booking a hotel, but they just decided not to clean my room up without even asking or informing me

2. I requested some ice to apply on my arm as I was in Saigon after undergoing a surgery in the past weeks. The staff simply replied “you need to go by ice at the shop next door”. This is the only hotel in the world not providing ice for guests! So I wonder, if I ordered any soft drink from their bar would they serve it with no ice? I don’t think so. Well that means they just didn’t want to provide ice that time.

Such a big let down for my stay. I won’t certainly return back as the staff attitude was very bad. I hope somebody from the hotel management will bother to reply back to me, but it looks like they never reply guests reviews so I guess they don’t care that much either.

I’ve been here for a few events and one night stay. The rooms here have a classic vibe but with all new decor. I love this hotel, the friendly service, best spa in hcm, and authentic Vietnamese food up at BUPs restaurant. The rooftop restaurant has a breathtaking view in the morning, highly recommend you to have breakfast outside on the patio. Pricing is great value for what you get, especially for such a new hotel located in the center of hcm!

Looks nice, greeted friendly. The room is cozy. One of the few hotels where good pressure in the shower and water does not flow outside the bathing area. That's a plus.

We weren't at breakfast because we stayed one night and left early.

BUT❗️ this one night I hardly slept because from the nearest cafes music plays very loudly, plus constantly honking each other's drivers are very disturbing to sleep.

Yes, there will be pre-prepared earplugs next to your bed, but they don't save.

No pool at the hotel. We went to a restaurant for dinner. I took pumpkin soup - it's mediocre, it barely feels pumpkin. Rice (pink) with seafood - I couldn't eat, the extremely unpleasant texture of seafood and the spiciness of 🌶️ didn't taste good to me. Dessert - banana flambe - is delicious, for amateurs. My man ordered bone marrow and steak - he loved it. Maybe I was just unlucky with the choice. The view from the restaurant to the construction does not add value to this restaurant. But the staff is helpful. Trying to help and please.

This is a beautiful hotel with good food for their breakfast buffet and the dinner menu options also. The views of the city from their rooftop restaurant are refreshing while eating breakfast and relaxing at dinner as the city lights up at night. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and pillows. With all the loud noise of the city outside the rooms are so quiet that I never heard any of it. Staff at this location work hard to accommodate your needs and solve any issues that may arise. I booked with agoda, who messed up my reservation, and the night desk worker Brian worked with the manager, Ms. Kate to fix the issue. Between Ms. Kate, Ms. Alice, Brian, & the housekeeping staff you can't find for a better or more relaxing hotel to stay at. They made my stay in Ho Chi Minh City the best so far. Thanks again to this wonderful manager and her staff for providing a luxurious stay at an affordable price.

The Odys Boutique Hotel, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I knew I was in for a truly memorable experience. The hotel's perfect blend of elegance, charm, and contemporary design immediately caught my eye.

One of the standout features of this remarkable hotel is the spaciousness of its rooms. The moment I entered my accommodation, I was greeted by a tastefully furnished and meticulously maintained space that exuded a sense of tranquility. The room was thoughtfully designed with a modern aesthetic, incorporating soothing color schemes and stylish furniture. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the plush bedding to the well-appointed bathroom, which boasted top-notch amenities.

This is a fabulous hotel, beautiful rooms with terrific views over Ho Chi Minh City from the roof top bar. It is immaculately clean, you even see the large glass windows and doors into the reception being thoroughly cleaned every day. The bedroom we stayed in had it's own jacuzzi in the bathroom which doubled up as a shower/bath. The breakfast and food is first class. The whole hotel is niche and chic, it's so stylish. Don't bother staying in soul less chain hotels, this has to be the best hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. It's ideally located in the heart of the city, easy to go anywhere via short taxi rides. It just oozes class from the minute you walk in, from the girls on the reception desk dressed in traditional vietnamese attire to the decor and niche items such as the very old motorised bicycle which probably dates back to about 1910 in the USA which sits proudly in the restaurant.

There's a real lively buzz in the rooftop bar/restaurant at breakfast and at night and you get to have many great interactions with fellow guests who all love the hotel. We met the owners who are a wonderful young couple and I let them know what a fabulous guest experience they had created. If your planning on going to Ho Chi Minh City, don't look anywhere else, book into the Odys and enjoy the same wonderful experience we did.
