I almost cancelled this booking based on past reviews but am glad I decided to proceed! Not sure if its really a 1 star accommodation but this hotel definitely exceeded my expectations! Water pressure was strong, bed was firm and room was big enough to accommodate the 4 of us. They have a beautiful rooftop terrace that feels like you are somewhere in Morocco. Rooms are well ventilated with windows and working A/C, close to Bui Vien Walking Street and the nearby Baba's Kitchen serve delicious Naan! Got this hotel at a really really good deal considering the fantastic location in the heart of Saigon. Staffs are good looking and polite too. Just a suggestion; It will be nice to include a vanity mirror in all your rooms please....

My first stay at La Memoria and found it was great value and good location. The breakfast has several choices with the English brekky having plenty on the plate. The iced milk coffees were so good we had 2 x each morning. Room 104 faced out to the verandah above the street and room 102 was smaller but faced into the courtyard of the hotel so more quiet. Good blockout curtains in room 104 and the shower pressure in both rooms was amazing. The mattress was firm but comfy, pillows were fine and TV had movie channels. AC worked well in both rooms and there is an elevator to reach all floors from the restaurant on ground floor. The only thing I could fault was the green pool water which meant I was not getting in for a dip. The pool is small but fine for cooling off if they can get a pool cleaner who knows how to test the water. The drink vending machine and glass door fridge in reception area were appreciated and the staff were lovely. I would definitely recommend to budget travellers. 😊

I can’t put into words how amazing this hotel was, definitely a hidden Gem within Saigon.
To begin with the receptionist was lovely and very attentive. When it came to booking tours through the hotel the process was very quick and easy. They sort everything out for you and do the heavy lifting!
We had breakfast included during our stay which I would highly recommend adding! There’s different choices between Vietnamese dishes to full English. You definitely have to try the iced coffee. It was so tasty and the best way to start the morning. The young man who serves breakfast every morning was always so kind and helpful.
The rooms are spacious with a beautiful modern design. The bathroom was very clean with necessary amenities and the hand soap smelt amazing! A big desk and comfy bed, it’s every thing you need whilst staying in the city.
What stood out the most for me was the care and love that was put into the plants through out the hotel. The long dangling plants from the ceiling roof to the ground floor was the best feature by far.
The location of the hotel is in a very efficient area. We never had a issue getting a taxi. The best thing was most of the areas we wanted to go to such as the war museum, apartment cafe and the post office was only a 5-10 minute drive. This would come to a £2 taxi ride!
If you’re on a budget trip or want to find a relaxing hotel to stay whilst your in Ho Chi Minh I would highly recommend this hotel!

Despite good reviews we were sadly disappointed with our stay for the following reasons:
1. When first venturing out from the room on one of the upper floors we were greeted by a large rat. How this was on the upper floors I'm not sure (would expect ground floor) but clearly it is a problem and there were no visible pest/rodent control measures in place at the hotel. We also heard what we assume were rats scratching from the floor above throughout one of the nights too.
2. Our room was city side and was exceptionally noisy until about 1am each night with music from across the street and traffic continuing throughout the night. The rooms have no sound insulation with a visible gap below the door. I recommend bringing earplugs and an eye mask in order to sleep.
3. The room service was minimal, no coffee/tea provided (just the kettle), no hand soap provided. This is substandard for 3* IMO.
4. We were disgusted to find that when the cleaners emptied the toilet bin they dropped my girlfriends used female sanitary products on the floor and just left them. I understand this was likely by accident but it was in the middle of the bathroom and even with the most basic glance they would have spotted it, this shows a severe lack of care and attention to detail.
On the positive side, the young lad who serves breakfast is really nice and attentive so kudos to him!

We loved our stay at La Memoria, the hotel is almost a little oasis in the middle of a very busy city. All employees we spoke to were so so friendly & helpful in arranging tours, recommending activities etc.
Location was great, lovely staff & beautiful hotel with a unique energy, will recommend to everyone!

Great budget hotel in a perfect location. Fast free wifi , good air con .Lovely breakfast. Small pool but is lovely for a swim after a hot day sightseeing . Comfy bed.
Rooms are basic but the price reflects this. The staff are very nice and extremely helpful. A bit noisy but you are in city centre so this is to be expected . We quite enjoyed the Asian sounds! Bathroom is basic , towels thin, and floor got a bit wet. A long mirror would be nice but overall for the money we paid and the city centre location it was perfect.
