Honestly, this hotel is not a fancy one. However, you will find it is very Vietnamese when staying in this hotel. People here are so nice. They are very very friendly. I am treated like a family member of theirs, especially from counter staff. Moreover, I would like to send my warmest thanks to Mr. Manager with a big tattoo on his right hand. He gave me a perfect guide tour for us around the City. I hope you guys will keep this spirit forever. Thank you
Spotlights * Convenient Location to Anywhere Popular in Saigon * Various Restaurants & Shops of All Kinds in Walking Distance * Ben Thanh Market Area just within 7min Walk * Retro Romantic Decor * Beautiful Rooftop Swimming Pool Area * Huge Bathtub for Total Relaxation * Friendly & Helpful Staff Pity * The Door Soundproof was quite weak. I could hear the other residents coming in/out with doors shutting sounds and talking in the hallway. * Not into the scent of the toiletries (from Shampoo to Body Lotion): they smelled like vegetables. Was happy to start with then things went downhill. The room was OK but very small. Shower flooded all over the floor. Had a venture around the hotel. The pool was small then realised this was used by the other hotel as well. So it got packed very quickly and no room just to relax. Breakfast first day was good then the next days we had to go next door for breakfast which was very disappointing. Only 1 lift so had to wait ages to go up to room or come down. Some staff were friendly others not.
We were moved here after the sister hotel closed, but the move was good as this was in a great location for our sight seeing. We did not use the swimming pool or spa. When we went up there there we had no idea where all the people came from, but apparently it was from other hotels in the chain - which was bit odd. We also did not like the amount of smoking there, it’s something we’re not used to any more. Our room was very comfortable- another great bed, which meant a great night’s sleep. Despite all the difficulties caused by Covid 19 the hotel produced a good breakfast every morning. The location of this hotel is particularly good, within easy walking distance of many of the main attractions. The staff were always helpful, special mention to Dung who was always friendly.
The Alagon D'Antique hotel is not what it seems the photo,s of the ------pool,spa,bar,restaurant etc on there web site and booking.com and other sites are very accurate HOWEVER what none of these sites tell potential guests is all these facilities are shared with 4 other Alagon hotels ***The Alagon Saigon / The Alagon Plus / The Alagon City / and the Alagon Central ****making a total of 5 hotels sharing the same facilities and with each hotel having an average 90 + rooms each, that's 450 rooms with possibly 1350 guests if all rooms were full with an average of 3 guests per room if all were full all sharing 1 pool and 1 Jacuzzi with a total of 20 sunbeds 1 pool bar with around 30 seats as well as the spa which i did not see so cant comment. The buffet breakfast is served on the ground floor with all 5 hotels having its own section in the restaurant although they were all connected and guests were seated in the reception of the Alagon Saigon and it was manic although the food choice was very good and well stocked. So if you are looking for a hotel chain which buys up old hotels (even leaving the old hotel name blazoned on them) and uses the same facilities with modern clean rooms with good wifi free mini bar and free toiletries in a good position near most of the main HCMC sights and you don't mind sharing a with hundreds of other guests then good luck but i for one will not be staying again…
