Welcome to L’HÔTEL du LAC - an immersive experience of Vietnamese culture for your next stay in Hanoi. Nestled in Hang Trong Street, in the beating heart of the old quarter, we are proud to bring back the theme of traditional folk prints - the popular paintings that had set their place deeply in the soul of Hanoian and remained its glamor once upon a time. Your vacation in our place is promised to be full of color, joy & happiness. “Born and raised in Hanoi, I adore the cultural values of the ancient capital. Hang Trong paintings, the most festive and vividly eye-catching tapestries, become the main inspiration for me to build up every detail of this hotel. Please enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime vacation and make your time memorable!”

Along with so many others here, I am so grateful to have found L'hotel du Lac. I cannot say enough about the excellent service provided by Emma, Chloe, and every other member of the team. From the warm welcome and tea at check-in, to a positive and easy accommodation of every request, our family felt very at home and cared for on our visit. The staff was able to easily add transportation options such as airport transfer, and the service was punctual, clean, and easy every time. All arrangements were confirmed and well-communicated before and during our stay.
The hotel itself has smaller rooms but they are well-appointed and comfortable, and you cannot beat the location in the heart of the Old Quarter. We also enjoyed having a drink at the Sky Bar for a quieter way to overlook the bustle of the Quarter. Although it was cold one evening on the rooftop, they provided cozy blankets and heaters so we could still enjoy the view!
We have stayed in many high quality hotel chains during our travels, but I cannot think of a time that the service has been better than what we experienced at Hotel du Lac. I would choose it again for a stay in Hanoi and easily recommend it.

L'Hotel du Lac Hanoi was definitely the best choice for our stay in Hanoi. Located on a busy street full of shops, restaurants and beauty salons, it is perfectly located in close walking distance of the lake and surrounding Old Quarter - which is ideal for tourists!
The hotel itself is quirkily designed with bold colours and striking patterns. On arrival, we received a warm welcome and were greeted with drinks and a lovely dried peach snack (which some of our party bought to take back home with them!). The hotel is small and boutique, as to be expected of city hotels, but the rooms are a decent size and the bathrooms are modern with large shower areas. There is a nice rooftop bar which is worth visiting for the views of the city.
The breakfast area is on its own floor and the lift opens directly out on to the buffet. We were really happy with the choice on offer - there is hot and cold food, nuts, dried fruit, cereal, bread, pastries etc. They also have a menu from which you can order various dishes, and a separate vegan menu too.
The staff at this hotel were excellent and we experieced some of the best customer service here, both in the restaurant and on the reception desk. This is the first hotel we had visited in our years of travelling where they serve water in glasses to you if you are sitting around in reception for a chat and where the receptionists remember your first name and come to speak to you. These small personal touches is what makes this hotel first class and worth the five stars review! A special mention to Chloe who was extremely friendly and helpful, sharing tips and advice, even after we had departed. All of the staff really do a great job in ensuring you have a wonderful stay! If we are ever in Hanoi again, we would not hesitate to rebook at this hotel.

The hotel is in a great location, in the heart of the Old Quarter and a short walk from a number of attractions including St. Joseph's Cathedral and Hoa Lo Prison. It's also around the corner from Lake Hoan Kiem, a lovely area to walk around, especially on the weekend when roads are closed to traffic from Friday afternoon to Sunday night.
Our 9th floor room didn't have great views, so it's worth seeing if there are rooms that overlook the Lake area. Nonetheless, the room is very comfortable with large bed, TV, small fridge, safe and toilet/bathroom with the usual collection of toiletries. The shower had three outlets including two shower heads. There was no shelf for luggage which had to be kept on the floor but it didn't get in the way. The hotel provides complimentary tea/coffee and two bottles of water daily.
The famous "train street" is only a fifteen minute walk away but if you want to see the train go through the shops and restaurants, check the times carefully as locals seem to have different timetables. The Friday night market is also a great experience while the traffic provides a constant specatcle.
The staff are wonderful and can't do enough to help. We appreciated the assistance of Chloe and Lily who very patiently identified a number of places to visit using the excellent tourist map.
We were only there for two nights with the main purpose to visit Ha Long Bay, but wish we could have stayed much longer. I can happily recommend this hotel.

Actually there from end of September to beginning of October.
Good hotel in Old Quarter. Many shops and restaurants nearby. Things are very economical. Behind the hotel is the lake, which I'd seen in the daytime, but quite by chance going down a different street at night, discovered the lake area was the place to be in the evening. Many restaurants, attractive lights, bands playing, street dancing, etc. Wish I'd known sooner, but at least I discovered it for my last 2 nights.
Only complaint is no Western TV, nothing in English for my 5 nights, even with many Western guests. I've since been told they are installing smart TVs, but I suggested that that option is not the best for many, who want regular TV channels, especially CNN (which I had in Saigon) and BBC. Smart TVs give you the Internet, but that's not real TV. Plus, Netflix and such require a subscription once you figure out how to log on.
Breakfast was good and ample, and they will special order you eggs, pancakes French Toast, etc.
Mostly, a good deal with a few hiccups. Their Do No Disturb or Make up Room sign was attached to a rubber band like cord that could twist around after you set it in place. I'd attached it to the door knob for Room Service when I left for a 12 hour tour. When I returned, the sign had swung around to Do Not Disturb and so no one cleaned my room. They did so apologetically, even late at night, but they should get cards that don't present this possibility. Staff was friendly and helpful.

If I have the opportunity to return to Hanoi, I would definitely stay at L'Hotel du LAC Hanoi again. Location in the Old Quarter was perfect!!
Everything was perfect from the moment we were greeted in the foyer until our trip ended. The staff are genuinely friendly and go above and beyond to assist you and make you feel welcome.
Our room on level 5 was beautiful, bed was very comfortable and we couldn't hear any street noise.
Restaurant breakfasts every day were delicious and the perfect start to our busy days. We dined in the restaurant for dinner three times during our stay and each time was perfect!
We visited the roof top bar a few times. Very handy location for sunset drink/ nibbles. The staff were very friendly and attentive, even remembering our orders.
Many thanks to ALL the staff at L'HOTEL du LAC Hanoi for looking after us so well.

Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at in Hanoi! From sending us WhatsApp messages before arrival to the welcome drinks, the amazing customer service was consistent and continuous during our whole stay! The staff are all so kind and make sure you’re taken care of. I arrived to the hotel on my birthday and they surprised me with a cake, card and even decorated my bed with roses!
The breakfast had the best pho I had in Vietnam! They have ready-to-order choices from pho, bun cha, crepes, omelettes pancakes and more. They also had a hot/cold selection buffet with fresh fruits, desserts and a variety of coffee, juices and teas, all included for free!
The manager, Mary, helped us book a 2D1N Halong Bay cruise. The hotels have direct relations with many managers of the cruise lines so she was able to get us a cruise that was almost half the price of Expedia’s!
The staff do everything they can to make your stay feel enjoyable and comfortable! They want you to feel relaxed and really enjoy the stay at their hotel. In between stays we took a short trip to Sapa and they even let us shower and rest before going on our cruise( this is days after checking out of the hotel!!) 😱. They are so thoughtful and generous. They think of ways to serve you that you wouldn’t even think of. I highly recommend this stay if you want to have an stress-free and comfortable time during your visit in Hanoi!

When I was browsing on the Internet, I was first attracted by the bright dopamine color scheme of L'HÔTEL du LAC: gold-inlaid arcades, parquet floor tiles, bright hanging paintings refer to the ancient customs and customs of Yanfang, and the counter The handfuls of colorful incense sticks spreading out in an arc at the back are not only decorative, but also pay homage to Vietnam's long-standing tradition of incense making... However, these local images are reproduced in modern and trendy images, which brings a unique and fresh feeling.
Compared with the colorful public spaces, the hotel rooms reflect the simple and elegant French style. Although the space is not large (many boutique hotels in the old city maintain a consistent layout of narrow and deep facades), it is tastefully decorated; I admire the bronze-green leather table lamp in front of the dressing table, paired with the tassels hanging from the dome. The freehand-shaped lanterns, with their self-contained seclusion, outline an atmosphere that is different from the noisy atmosphere on the streets of Hanoi at this time. Instead, they are suitable for travelers to sort out their thoughts and reminisce about the past and present of Indochina in a peaceful environment.

First of all the staff is extremely helpful, competent and friendly with excellent english levels. When we noticed we had put in our laundry to hotel laundry services at 7pm without asking how long it would take or asking for a rush order since we were leaving at 9.30 am the next day, (we noticed around 11.30pm), i went down to reception, described our predicament and was met with a “I got this don’t worry sir”, and out laundry was with us pressed clean and folded neatly at 8am with hour. The breakfast buffet is great with changing dishes every day, a very decent fresh order menu including pancakes eggs in any way etc, always came within 120 seconds of ordering, also featuring noodle soup and other vietnamewe items, all excellent, fresh and made to order. The rooftop bar is sweet with two floors, a competent barkeeper and excellent service. The spa was good with very fair prices as well! We upgraded to a junior suite for our last night and they surprised us with a little flower arrangement, charming competent and excellently situated directly adjacent to hoan kiem lake and the old town with most attractions well within easy strolling range. The rooms are not exactly sound proofed (as almost nowhere in asian hotels beneath the super deluxe 5star level), however when i gave reception a ring to ask for the discreet christmas music in the hallway to be turned down the immediately switched it off completely with profuse apologies. All in all absolutely great experience, would reccomend 10/10, great value for money especially considering the great location and amenities. No gym btw, but a walk around the lake next door will get you there just fine if cardio is what you’re craving.

We stayed here for 8 days in a room 802 and had a lovely stay. The rooms are perfect, the breakfast, although not the biggest buffet selection etc, was still great, and you can order off the menu for things like eggs etc. The decor is beautiful! Bright and vibrant, yet still authentic and traditional! And the location is perfect! Fruit and won in the room on arrival. We were also presented with a decorative fruit platter on our last full day too. But the real stand out, and the reason you should book this hotel is the staff! From the moment we stepped out of the airport taxi (which we got the hotel to arrange for us too) they were running out to get our bags for us. They seriously cannot do enough for you! Always acknowledging you when you leave and arrive back after a day out. Everyone seems to speak good English. On the day we left, we had an early flight, so had to check out at 5:15am, and they had a packed breakfast ready for us to take. I don’t think we’ve ever stayed at a hotel where the staff are as attentive as here.
Just a small issue we had was noise! Not noise from outside as this was surprisingly quiet, but noise from other guests (I’m assuming) Every morning early between 6 - 7am without fail we would be woken by other people seemingly slamming the doors as they were leaving their rooms (it was very loud and they were definitely not taking care to close them gently like we did) And not just one or 2 times. It seemed to be continuous. I’m not sure why it was so loud as the hotel does state sound proofed rooms. But we did have an issue with this. In our room we did have a internal window area which opened out and looked down onto the floors below us (we were floor 8) so I’m assuming this isn’t sound proofed and the noise was travelling up. Would I let this stop me coming back? No, not one bit! But it is just something to be aware of as it was an issue for us as there was no chance of a little extra sleep in the morning as soon as 6am came every day, the noise started again. We loved Hanoi, and everything about the city. And we loved the hotel! Thank you to all the staff who were all 5 stars!

While traveling in Hanoi, our 3 day stay at L'HOTEL du LAC, was a wonderful find offering a respite to the chaos of the large city. As soon as you walked through the front door, you were met with a warm modern Asian decor with staff immediately available to assist you. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning, watched the sunset from their roof top bar and enjoyed their outstanding full service spa. We loved the convenient location to the major attractions in the Old Quarter. During our stay the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They offered to store half of our luggage, free of charge, while we trekked for 5 days in the upper part of North Vietnam. And to give further credence to the staffs helpfulness, upon checkout, we had left our power bank. The staff contacted us and set up a way for it to be transported 1.5 hours south to our location in Ninh Binh. Unbelievable kindness and service! I can not recommend this gem enough!
