My husband and I along with our 5 children just got back from the most magical trip. Staying at the Oriental Siam Resort had a lot to do with that ! The owners of the resort treat you like family, from making your breakfast to ensuring your room is clean and fully stocked every day. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and feel like a private oasis at the end of long days of adventure. The pool was so refreshing! Also, the air conditioning in the rooms was great. The food is all delicious and home cooked. Nat and Kobby can help you with setting up a driver, booking excursions, etc. You will not stay anywhere with more kind or hospitable people. This is a true traditional Thai lodging experience. So much character as you can see from the pictures. We were all sad to leave and already making plans to go back!

Relaxing atmosphere in nature with excellent Thai hospitality. It was an oasis where I could rest comfortably in a very clean room (actually like a Thai house of my own with patio and back deck, a large bathroom). Their restaurant is by their small pond in which you can admire watching beautiful fish, big and small, swimming around; an added beauty to the already well cared nature. The pool is small but you feel like you are in your own villa’s pool and it is crystal clear. My special thanks to the owner Miss Nat and the lovely staff who are doing a wonderful job making your stay comfortable; every detail is taken care of. Food is delicious, you can also pre-order whatever you would like to eat. I stayed 5 nights and I will miss here; definitely recommended for a peaceful cozy holiday with a traditional elegant Thai touch.

We visited during the very high season, and our 2 joining rooms cost 360 USD a night so we were expecting high quality. While the visit was very nice, I could definitely recommend other places that are better in Chiang Mai for equal or less the cost. Here are run downs of issues:
1. While out of town a bit, it is not country. We were up listening to bar music or fireworks 3 out of 6 nights there.
2. The breakfast was the same everyday- just noodles or egg options, fine for 2 or 3 nights but not a week.
3. The bed was rock hard and the bathroom shower leaked onto the floor.
4. The owners, who speak English, were out of town for the last 2 days there and our complimentary car back to the airport was a mess scheduling with the workers who did not speak English. They tried getting us into a compact car with 5 people and luggage. A bit odd.
5. Finally, the workers were nice, but almost overly so. They would ask us “where are you going?” every morning and asked my daughter about her scar on her body, which was extremely uncomfortable for the family.

There were many wonderful things about this visit, the swimming pools are excellent for quiet time or with family, and the general quietness of the area was great. The grounds are well laid out, and there are some slides and swings, albeit older, available for kids. Our airport transfer on arrival was smooth and well received, especially when we arrived late at night.

All that being said, this is too expensive for the value given. The chain hotels such as the Shangri La or Le Meridan in town would give much better value if you are planning to spend that much on a hotel for a night.

Dear Mr Jarrett B., Thank you for your forthright review of your stay in the resort we are sorry that you had some issues. Fireworks are now strictly controlled in Thailand however your stay was over the New Year celebrations, this is a time of year fireworks are allowed and expected. We don’t understand the comments about the breakfast, we offer both Western and Asian breakfast. We serve choices of beverage, fresh fruits platter, he eggs choices vary: boiled, fried, poached, scrambled and omelette accompanied with hash browns, bacon or sausage and a bakery basket consisting of toast, croissant as well as pancake waffles and various cereals. Asian breakfast choices include noodles soup, rice porridge and menu of the day. The beds are hotel quality with the firm mattress, we have mattress toppers for guests who request something softer. We are investigating the issues with the complimentary car transfer to the airport and we trust that you arrived safely and on time. We apologise for the staff asking awkward questions to your daughter, the girls in question were internship students and were culturally unaware, we have now provided additional training to enlighten them. We hope your concerns did not detract from your overall enjoyment of your visit to Chiangmai. The Management and OSR team

Visited with family, great and relaxing atmosphere. The resort is clean and the flora was beautiful, rooms were cleaned properly and were modern but still had a traditional Thai feeling with beautiful wooden carved furniture. Swimming pool was clean.
The staff was incredibly helpful with making sure we saw all the highlights that Chiang Mai had to offer, as we came without a plan. Breakfast was delicious and the resort offers dinner options on days we didn’t feel like going out.

Overall a wonderful experience for me and my family, we’ll be coming back.

We took over the whole resort for a Sunday wedding in December 2019. Nat decorated the venue beautifully with flowers, the meal was delicious, and the ceremony and celebration blended a broad variety of customs. Nat even danced with her sister, wearing costumes similar to those in the 'About' page of the website. Accommodation most comfortable, with a pool and outdoor breakfast. South East of Chiang Mai, about 1 km from the Route 11.

A lovely, peaceful, family run resort with a handful of spacious bungalows and a lot of lovely green. Nat and her sister who run the resort are lovely, and so helpful and kind. Breakfast is on a terrace outside next to a lovely pond with a waterfall, and a very restful start to the day. Very nice coffee!

In our 3 week trip to Thailand, this was by far the BEST hotel we stayed at. The care and friendliness of all the staff was simply second to none. They couldn’t do enough for you. When we had some tours cancelled due to the pandemic, Nat, the owner, sat down with us to plan out a couple of days. They arranged a private driver for our family of 5 to take us around the Chiang Mai area. The food was delicious! The hotel is set in a beautiful oasis of florals, water with fish and greenery. The pool was well used by us and Very clean. The whole resort was extremely clean and well taken care of. You must stay here! You will not be disappointed!! We can’t wait to go back one day!

Dear Happy Family visit, In my opinion, the location of our resort has easy access to get around places of interests either you wish to visit the city center or the countryside as we are located we are located behind a beautiful temple & away from hussles & bussles. just in between the city where the day & night markets are and tourist attractions i.e. handicraft village, 3D museum, temples, you can drive through beautiful scenery & rice paddy field to visit hot-spring and relax in a mineral pool / bath, walk up to the cave, do activities i.e. zipline, balloon flight, microlight flying, golfing, children learning center (be a farmer in a day), or visit the elephant sanctuary, etc. Furthermore, our trustworthy & experienced English/Chinese speaking tour guide/driver is available to take care of your family privately during your visit in the Northtern region, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Pai, Mae hong Son, Lampun and Lampang. We hope this helps to give you ideas where to stay, where to go and what to do to treat your family. Please do not hesitate if you have any further questions, we are always at your service. We look forward to your visit and assure you of our personalize services throughout your stay.
