We had a lovely short stay at Amata Lanna Chiang Mai. This is a real haven in the city, with a beautiful swimming pool and courtyard area and each room has a lovely balcony area. Complementary coffee is great, as is the breakfast with various cooked to order options, as well as delicious fruits, juice and sweet treats. Definitely try the mango sticky rice! The rooms themselves are beautiful with ornate woodwork throughout and we had an amazing bathroom with jacuzzi bath which we weren't expecting! Location-wise the hotel is also good, a short tuk-tuk ride to the old city and an easy 10 min max walk to the night markets. Most of all, the service is fantastic here and the staff couldn't be friendlier. Korb khun kha!

First stay at a boutique hotel, this place is amazing. The most relaxing hotel I've ever stayed in. Beautiful room and excellent facilities. All the staff were wonderful, very kind, friendly and helpful. Mango with sticking rice was a lovely treat for breakfast too. Location is also good, 5 minutes walk from the night market and close enough to the old town bars and restaurants. Will definitely stay here again if I am lucky enough to come back to Chiang Mai. Thank-you very much Amata Lanna 🙏

Amata Lanna was our base for the Chiangmai portion of our honeymoon. Any and all expectations were exceeded! The small number of rooms are gathered around the focal point of the pool. This is not a commercial hotel with hundreds of people and rows of sun beds, it’s authentic and relaxed, and beautiful. The building and rooms are adorned with authentic wood carvings that are breathtakingly ornate, and the rest of the simplistic style compliments them perfectly. The beds are large and comfortable, and the jacuzzi bath is a very welcome addition after a long travelling period. Once you step through the gateway, you are immersed into a tranquil oasis. Lush tropical plants surround you and soft Thai music floats over the sparkling pool. The welcome is always warm, day or night, and the staff go give and beyond in any way the can to help you. Tea and coffee is made fresh to order 24/7 and is always beautiful - this can be served to you by the pool area, or in your room if preferred. This service really isn’t necessary as there are some facilities in the rooms, but it’s just an extra step to make you feel well looked after and relaxed. My husband’s birthday was during our stay and the staff surprised us by knocking on our room door (once they knew we were back from our trip) singing happy birthday and presenting him with a personalised cake. It was such a lovely touch and provided a really special memory for us both. Thank you Breakfast offerings cover everything you could want. It’s all cooked fresh to order, in a very timely fashion. The food is tasty and plentiful. BE SURE to have some mango sticky rice, even if it’s all you have for breakfast, you really can’t go wrong! Chiangmai, while much calmer than Bangkok, can still be a little hectic at times but this is the perfect base to escape it all, and it really feels as though you are hidden away from it all. The lighting round the pool on an evening is so serene, we loved sitting amongst it and playing cards. As is suggested in that sentence, we are not ‘party party’ people, but would highly recommend here to anyone who is looking for a more peaceful destination. The location of Amata Lanna was perfect for us, just a short walk from markets and hubbub, but not fully amongst it. Over the road is a gorgeous French eatery - we usually always eat local cuisine but didn’t realise it was French until we’d arrived, and we’d already fallen for the place so we stayed - we highly recommend here for a meal or drink on the river. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we may be back one day!

Perfect vacation to relax, clam down, soothe your soul. It's a small boutique hotel away from city rush. As you walk in you are welcomed by the marvelous lana style wooden homestyle hotel. Rooms are very big, along with great bathrooms. Very clean as well. What is memorable is the staff and the hospitality. 24h coffee/ tea at your service and thats complimentary!. Balcony has nice cozy set up to chill. Breakfast arrangement is surprisingly great!. It's not a traditional large spread boring buffet, rather a small selection of fantastic Thai ( western also) cuisine. Location wise it's a walk in distance from night market and very close to the river. There are no in-house restaurants but grab food delivery compliments without an issue. They can arrange airport transfers as well. There is a small pool to plunge in, but since it was Dec we didnt try that, instead we used the bathtub with hot water jetting. The only thing I would improve is the WiFi. What I would remember: The super polite and wonderful staff, cozy set up, and the breakfast. I am go8ng back again.

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights of our honeymoon and couldn’t have picked a better place in Chiang Mai. The thing that really makes this hotel magical is the friendly staff who took care of us and were always ready to help with anything. The property is spotless with gorgeous architecture, and beautiful wood carvings everywhere. Breakfast was delicious and filled us up for a day of site seeing. The old city was maybe a 5 minute Grab away and cost on average 70-90 Thai Bhat. Our room had great AC and a smart TV where we could log into Netflix. The staff even decorated the room with flower petals and towel swans which made our honeymoon perfect! We hope to return again on another trip and would recommend anyone to stay here to experience the best of Thai Hospitality.

Spent three nights in Chiang Mai at the Amata Lanna and cannot rate if highly enough. The peaceful garden and pool were beautiful. Rooms were furnished in local fashion and to a very high standard. The beds were really comfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpful. We would stay here again if we are ever in Chiang Mai and recommend it to all of your friends.

Pleasant and very helpful staff that couldn’t do enough to help us, recommending restaurants and helping us with Grab, the local Uber equivalent but so much cheaper. Very comfortable room A comprehensive breakfast was served on the patio overlooking the beautiful garden.

We chose Amata Lanna on the basis that it looked tasteful, artistic, boutique, slightly away from the busiest areas, and had only 12 rooms - a perfect little private oasis amidst the bustle of Chiang Mai. We were not disappointed! In fact even with that elevated expectation, we were blown away by the beautiful, natural interior, including teak wood floors, carvings and cute decorations. The thing that probably sticks most in all of our memories was the Thai pork meat porridge and stick mango rice pudding which could be ordered for breakfast. Only small issues were it was a bit cold while we were there (Feb) and there is no heating. Make sure there are extra blankets available if so. Also the doors/windows are old, so there is not very good heat or noise insulation in case you are highly sensitive to those. We stayed in another hotel within the old town later on our trip, but this one definitely was the highlight. Definitely a case of quality over quantity, and for Chiangmai it’s great to be able to beat a retreat from town centre at the end of the day.

I had an amazing stay here. It was based in a great location, maybe a 10/20 minute walk away from the centre of Chiang Mai. We had breakfast by the pool daily and the mango stick rice was the best I’d tasted. We had dinner delivered to our room one night, which again tasted great and was freshly made. The room was perfect, with a table and chairs outside overlooking the pool, which was quite small but empty so I used this daily. The staff were so friendly and helpful, I will definitely be staying here again if I return.

I can't say enough about this beautiful little hotel. It has a traditional feel that is charming and welcoming. The rooms are great, pool and property are all fantastic. The best part of our stay was the staff. They helped us arrange transportation, day trips, cooking classes and restaurants. We were always greeted with a hello upon entering, and they couldn't do enough to help us. The food is also fantastic - be sure to try the iced coffee and the mango sticky rice. We had a fantastic stay!
