The Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel garners praise for its amiable service and stylish ambiance, with the riverside location and shuttle service being a highlight for many guests. While the rooftop pool and river views are popular features, some visitors are put off by the loud music and wish for improved changing facilities.
The modern, well-appointed rooms with picturesque views are frequently lauded, though occasional late cleaning and a need for air conditioning filter maintenance have been noted. Opinions on value vary, with some guests appreciating the reasonable rates and others pointing out costly dining options.

This stay is due to the fact that the conference is held here, the airport is about 40 minutes away when the car is not in the car, there is no express in the vicinity, so if you do not drive, you need to call a taxi, or take a shuttle through the river to the opposite there is a express. The lobby is on the 11th floor, and at the time of check-in, a pre-brush of 5,000 Taizé will be used for in-house consumption. The room card is special, it is made of wood, so far only one time when staying in Sweden. The room is large, gives a king size bed, super flat bed linen! Although without the requirement of not completely replace bedding, but each bedding is pulled very flat. The bedding is also quite smooth and well covered, the mattress will not hurt the back. Due to the environmental protection, there is no toiletries, only towels. Bath milk, soap, etc. are made in New York in 2004 (MALIN+GOETZ), taste good. It is worth noting that the chair in the bathroom, you can sit down to take a bath, there is also a handshake along the wall, because the injured hotel gave accessibility room, careful Refrigerator and snack bars for drinks and food are charged, but there are already 4 bottles of water, is Chang branded, there is also coffee powder and tea bag; the fan is Panasonic , there is also a spoon and a large spoon board, and a safe box. It is worth noting that the prepared leaflet is self-adhesive! It's the first time I've met. Digital TV doesn't feel very good, but there's NHK that can look good. The whole service I think the best is the 1F lobby luggage gentlemen and the transfer driver, attitude and enthusiasm, relatively clean people take away the little money on the bed, but forgot to supplement instant coffee, the chaotic fan and windshield also retained the original condition, feeling not very good.

Everyone commented that we were far outside the centre of the city but it did not really impact us. A shuttle boat at the resort next door can be used to go up and down to 2 different river piers. Taxis are cheap and we used Grab easily to get around. The mall downstairs is useful for getting some products and use of ATMs. The highlight was Lost & Found bar which had some really great performers in an underground bunker setting.
The service was great, the room was fully stocked with amenities to make the stay comfortable.
We really enjoyed staying and would definitely stay again

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveler reviews.
We’re first-time visitors to Bangkok, and chose this hotel based on reviews and general advice from friends about the merits of staying by the river.
First things first, the ride from the airport is about an hour and cost us 600BHT. On arrival at the hotel your bags are swiftly collected; reception staff (up on floor 11 via the deliciously-fragrant lobby!) couldn’t have been more helpful and efficient.
We were on the 19th floor; with a ‘Panorama’ room. It has everything you need, enough but not excessive space, efficient air conditioning, comfortable beds, and very nice Malin+Goetz toiletries.
The rooftop pool is pretty special; there are no changing facilities or lockers, so leave valuables in the room and go ready to get straight in the water; towels are available to help you dry off. The adjacent rooftop bar is pretty exclusive; if you want to fit in, you might want to change your clothes and dump your shopping bags before you head up there; but again the service and drinks are spot on, and the view is beguiling. It’s pricey but worth it.
The free boat shuttle service to Sathorn Pier in the centre of Bangkok deserves special mention; it runs like clockwork every half hour til 11pm, and only takes 15 minutes pier-to-pier. The crews are friendly, and moist lemon-scented towelette provided when you’re heading back to the hotel after a long, hot day sightseeing is appreciated. The quality of the shuttle service also totally negates the fact the hotel is slightly to the south of downtown and beyond easy walking distance from the main attractions. From Sathorn Pier it’s easy to transfer to other boats and points of interest up river (I’d recommend the all-day hop on hop off “Chao Phraya Tourist Boat” for 150BHT) or to get on the BTS above-ground railway (which also links into the metro)
Anyway, back to the hotel; breakfast is amazing value; with an unparalleled selection of food (certainly based on my own experience), and efficient, friendly service. It really did set us up for the day.
And on check out, the service was as efficient and pleasing as it was on our arrival.
We’d go back to this hotel without hesitation!

Spectacular view of Bangkok and the Chao Praya from the rooftop bar with infinity bar and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff
Pros: Very good location, as it is in the middle of Bangkok, MRT and other public transport are easy to reach by Grab, taxi or boat Free shuttle boat that takes you to the other side, directly to Siam Siok, or connecting piers to continue your journey by boat Clean, stylish rooms with a breathtaking view of the city The room service provides 4x 500ml water bottles every day if you have the room cleaned The Avani app is useful and helpful. In addition to reservations, you can also order any other services, such as laundry service. The breakfast is good - plentiful, varied: intercontinental and local, even Gouda and Emmentaler as well as feta cheese were available on some days. The only thing I personally missed was a terrace, but the rooftop bar with the fantastic infinity pool made up for it.

The hotel reception is located above the shopping mall for which you access from the hotels own entrance. We arrived a little early but we only needed to wait 5 minutes before our room was available. As with all rooms in the hotel they give an excellent view of bangkok, and we we could quite happily look out the full length window at night taking in the city and river traffic views. The room was quiet with ample power sockets and USB connections. The bed was comfortable allowing an uninterrupted nights sleep. The Bathroom area could be closed off from the living area by the sliding doors. The breakfast was acceptable but a few more items to select would not have gone amiss. Just a very minor comment. The restaurant at the top has excellent views and the food is what you would expect at this range of hotel. The high winds can cause and issue as my main course ended up being blown out of the waitress hands. I did also have to chase up my drinks order a couple of times. There are some food and drink options in the Mall under the hotel, including Starbucks, Burger King and a Pizza restaurant amongst others. The Hotel is located a distance from the centre, but the complementary boat from the adjacent Anantara hotel to either the ICON Siam Shopping Mall or Saphan Taksin skytrain station , where you can get to most areas direct or transfer to MRT avoids the Bangkok traffic and takes about 20 minutes. The river journey can be a bit choppy due to the wash from the other river traffic. A taxi to ICON Siam costs about 70 baht.

The riverside view was crazy. The day view, night view, and morning view were all impressive, and the morning swim in the infinity pool was unforgettable. The breakfast was okay, and the egg menu that could be ordered separately, as I heard, was delicious. You cannot use the elevator without swiping your card key, so you must have your card key with you. It was very spacious and comfortable, and I was surprised that the staff left without saying a word while I was out of the room, but it was nice to refill the water. If you have important items, you should always carry them with you or put them in a safe, just in case. It was nice to be able to use the free boat to Sathorn Pier, and it was nice that it operated until late at night. Because it was a busy day, late check-out was not possible, but other facilities were still available afterward. There was nothing around, but it was nice to have restaurants on the first and third floors, and Icon Siam was nearby, so it was nice to visit. Most of the amenities were toothpaste, shower cap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, but I remember there was no toothbrush. The bedding was good, and it was a wonderful experience to be able to enjoy the spa while looking at the night view. In the junior suite, the view from the bed is more of a city view than a river view. The bathtub has a river view, which is fantastic. suggestion.

This is just a bit of a ‘Wow’ place really. The rooms are spotless and clearly designed by someone who understands people need lots of surfaces to put stuff and places to hang stuff. We were met by the concierge team and our bags were taken to our room whilst we checked in on the 11th floor. Our room overlooked the River with floor to ceiling windows. We used the gym on the 25th floor and the absolutely stunning pool on the 26th floor. The hotel itself is located next to a small mall so you can pop down to 7 eleven or Starbucks if you need anything. It has access to a pier from where you can take a boat to IconSiam or the other side of the river. Great food options and the concierge was extremely helpful. I would recommend this place heartily. Perhaps it’s better for people more achingly cool than us but really, I don’t think you can complain.

Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet my expectations at all and I am rather disappointed with this stay.
I am writing this review as a GHA Discovery member with Titanium status.
First of all, I would like to thank you for the room upgrade to a suite on the 25th floor due to my membership status. The room was a dream with a fantastic view of the Chao Praya River and the city of Bangkok.
The welcome greeting on the bed with hearts and balloons was unfortunately too much of a good thing for my taste and was actually rather inappropriate, as I was traveling with my best friend and we were not a couple. Unfortunately, it was also not taken into account that we had requested two single beds and I had also communicated this several times in several emails beforehand and pointed it out.
Overall, the hotel makes a new, high-quality impression. The elevators are gray, however, and you somehow know when an elevator is coming and where it is going. One morning we waited about 5 minutes for the elevator and it didn't even let us out on the floor we pressed, but drove past. We then walked up the stairs to our floor.
We had a room on the 25th floor and the breakfast restaurant was on the 11th floor. We could smell the stench of the food all the way up to the 25th floor and it was actually very unpleasant.
As a European, I found the breakfast in this hotel very disappointing. I was in Bangkok for the 3rd time and this was actually the worst breakfast buffet I've had in a 5 star hotel so far. When you were seated at a table, you weren't even asked what you'd like to drink, you were seated and left.
The dining area was like a big waiting room and everything was somehow so cold, everything was loud and everything was somehow impersonal and not comfortable.
The waiters were rather unfriendly and you didn't see a single smile from them. The egg station was done with a piece of paper that you filled out and then handed in at the buffet. Special requests were therefore rather complicated. Incidentally, my eggs Benedict arrived cold and were probably only warmed up briefly. The vegetable selection for breakfast was a disaster, there was actually only some salad and beans. Oatmeal was also nowhere to be found and if you asked for something you were put off rather than helped. The smell of all the food and cooking was also rather unpleasant and the things smelled of food after breakfast. I've never experienced anything like that before.
The Seen Restaurant was more for people with more show than substance. Seeing and being seen was the motto here. At a table right at the edge you had to spend a minimum amount of money. Everything was rather impersonal.
The rooftop pool was closed to guests one day because a private event was taking place there. Unfortunately for guests who are only staying 1 or 2 nights this is a very bad experience because you may have only booked the hotel because of the pool.
I have to say I am very disappointed with this hotel and especially when it comes to the breakfast it is below average for me personally and not 5 star level.
Unfortunately the hotel did not convince me and unfortunately I cannot recommend it based on my experiences here. What a shame

Wow wow wow! The infinity pool at this hotel is insaaaane! If you are like me and enjoy a sunset drink by the pool then this is the place. Amazing views from the pool and the SEEN bar which is next to the pool. Pool is open until 8pm. Gym is 24 hours and well equipped
The rooms were fantastic, I was upgraded to a panorama river view and the beautiful view from the huge window was stunning. 16th floor rooms very quiet. Room was well equipped with all the expected amenities.
Breakfast on the 11th floor was beautiful nice comfortable chairs. Good breakfast selection. I loved how you get to tick what eggs you want and they bring them to you rather than you having to queue as I have in other hotels so 10/10 for this! Truffle eggs Benedict yes please!!
Staff were fantastic, Geen looked after me so well by the pool, remembering me and offering a big smile- much appreciated as a solo traveller.
Location is further out from central Bangkok but the riverside is a very popular area to stay now and I prefer it personally. I didn’t use the shuttle boat but I just got a Bolt to icon Siam and Asiatique which was only ten mins. The hotel is situated in a mall. There are not loads of Thai restaurants in the local area but there are some very cheap authentic local restaurants if it’s not your first time in Thailand these will be the sorts of places you would gravitate to but if it’s your first time and you are looking for more touristy restaurants you may struggle a bit locally but ten mins taxi to either venue I just referenced and there’s literally hundreds of options street food and restaurants. There’s a little massage shop five mins walk.
If I’m being super pedantic I would say that the sunbeds by the pool were a tad uncomfortable as they are a fixed shape and you can’t adjust them to sit up or lay down. Happy hour by the pool would have been great as drinks were a bit pricy. Whipped cream with the pancakes for breakfast would be a great addition.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The room offered a beautiful view of the Chao Phraya River and was impeccably clean and comfortable, with minimalist toiletries. From the moment, I stepped into the hotel, the friendly staff left a lasting impression. The variety of food options at The Pantry catered to all nationalities, and the excellent service during breakfast brightened my day. The check-in counter staff were helpful and even assisted with confirming my advance taxi booking. Overall, my stay was pleasant, relaxing, and comfortable. Additionally, the shopping mall next door provided a good spread of alternative meals options. The regular shuttle boat services to the Saphan Thaksin and Icon Siam allows guests to travel to other tourists’ attractions conveniently.

Yes, the king size beds are big enough. I was on a business trip and the room size was enough for one person. In my opinion it is too narrow for 3 people. Have fun and exciting moments in Bangkok.
