Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.

We stayed here for 3 nights in the club rooms and would say that it is well worth the upgrade to get all the extras. We requested the highest floor and this was granted, being given floor 58. The range of toiletries were brilliant including a lovely wooden hair brush & comb in

Every time I come back to the room after business meetings, I find it very clean and orderly, and with a cute surprise which is the towel turned into a bird's nest. I met my room attendant, Kewalin, and she was very proud about her work and is well supported by her supervisor,

Hi, the weather in Bangkok in January &early February when we were there was superb. The temp was about 32C every day with low humidity and no rain. The only issue with Bangkok at the moment is the pollution which is very bad. Hotels, shopping centres and the like are all well protected by good air con, however city touring has issues with the traffic congestion.

When will the refurbishment in the hotel be completed?
There has been refits to the two bedroom suite. Best to email the hotel to find out if they have finished the refits. We stayed in a newly refitted 2 bedroom suite much light and better this was in Jan.

The taxis in BKK are inexpensive and relaible - the Grand Palace is 15-20 minutes depending upon traffic. If you stay at the Banyan Tree, there is a staff member whose job is to call a taxi for guests and to instruct the driver of the destination. But MAKE SURE that the driver acivates the meter - the charge is 35 Baht to begin the journey, and charge by time/distance thereafter. Do NOT get into a taxi which does not have a meter.
