I am lucky enough to spend 45 days every winter in Thailand.
However the high spot for me are the final three nights I spend in The Centara Grand Central Plaza, before flying home.
Its location, just 25 minutes from the international airport by one of the hotel's limo's, is just perfect for a relaxed trip to catch my flight is perfect
As the hotel is within the superbly upscale Central Plaza shopping mall, I am easily able to satisfy my retail therapy requirements.
I am able to relax and top up my tan around the huge open air pool, which is set in three acres of stunningly beautiful gardens.
I have a great gym to exercise in, and a beautiful spa to pamper myself in.
In the evenings, I have the choice ofseven great restaurants to dine in.
As I always take a club room, I breakfast on the 24th floor lounge, where I also enjoy a complimentary light lunch, followed by complimentary afternoon tea, and in the evenings I enjoy complimentary pre-supper cocktails.
The staff throughout the hotel provide standards of service equal to the finest I enjoy in any of the hotels, in any of the cities I visit throughout the world.
Truly, the high spot of my year.

I stay here for three nights every February, and every year it gets better.
It has so much going for it...
The location, midway between the two international airports, just 30 minutes from either via the hotel's excellent limousine service, and within 20 minutes of Bangkok's busy downtown, plus being situated within the first class Central Plaza mall.
Its beautiful and extensive gardens and swimming pool.
Its world-class gym and luxurious spa.
Its choice of seven fine restaurants.
Its staff, from the wonderful head doorman, who unfailingly remembers me every year upon my arrival, through reception, chambermaids, and waiting staff, all are welcoming, warm, and unfailingly helpful.
I always take a Club Room, which I recommend to achieve the full Centara Grand experience.

I’m glad that I stayed at this hotel for my recent trip. The staff was ever friendly and helpful. From the early correspondence prior to my arrival and until I arrived at home from the trip, the staff were prompt with their replies. I was happy that the hotel still honored the room upgrade offer made about 2 years ago before the pandemic and the room was big, nice and comfortable. The Airconditioning was working well and the shower was strong. With the pandemic yet to subside, the hotel had the various protocols in place though sometimes I’m confused with the breakfast setup as some days we were allowed to pick our own food while other days were not. The laundry service was exceptionally fast; it’ll be ready on the same day if it was handed over before 10am. The hotel also has a medical center which could take my pre-departure RT-PCR test for a fee, saving me the time and hassle to hunt for one in town. If there’s a chink in the armor, it’ll the the TV programmes available. Probably due to the pandemic and the lack of tourists, most if the paid channels are not available. Thus for the whole stay, I’m only watching Al Jazeera in English for I don’t understand the Thai language. While I had the choice of hotels to choose for this trip, I’m glad that I chose this hotel and it’ll be again when I’m back again.

I used to stay here once long time ago and the service was good but not like this time. This experience was unexpected. I know hotel try to save cost and use this time for renovation. No inform before check-in or make the booking. From 10am-4pm, banging noise are everywhere; lobby, or in the room.
Service .. no standard on hygiene. Our room was open before check in normal. Other room will have the certificate showing about the room is clean what quality check with a sticker on the door. So no sticker on our room. It was ok as covid in Thailand is not that bad. I was ask for baby cot, housekeeper bring it and did not were a mask, but when we went for breakfast without mask. We were ask to wear mask, ... standard?, we were told that mask was provided in the room. “Nothing is provided”. We went back and get our own mask. When we finish our breakfast. Other guests can entering the breakfast area without the mask. Where is the standard???
In the Breakfast, hygiene was there. Water was provided behind the bar, but no one there. If you were choking, you probably die before getting water. About 2-3 min later, Here the bartender.
Call Center, Reception, do not know any thing. Asking about car park service they transferred to security of the mall, ... unbelievable. Asking about the hotel’s restaurant with the credit that we have, also get about 5 min to understand even in local language.
It feels like they are hiring the cheapest staff for a 5 star service.
Be aware or the cheap price promotion.

Very large hotel so never felt crowded. Our room was on the highest floor and we had a package with Club Lounge access. Huge bath towels and full-sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion were provided, which was a nice touch and appreciated. Four large glass bottles of sealed water were replaced daily in our room. Very clean hotel and the staff are all amazing! So helpful, friendly and attentive. Special thanks to Sasitha in the Club Lounge, who is a wonderful hostess and could not do enough for us. She is such a valuable asset to the hotel. In fact, we could not fault any of the staff we came across during our 5-night stay. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. There is a medium sized outdoor pool in lush gardens. Wonderful buffet breakfast is provided but get there early as it gets very crowded. The Club Lounge also provides breakfast but not as much choice. The trade-off is it's less busy. Food is provided during the day and evening in the Club Lounge, and although it's delicious, it was usually cold. Soup for instance, was provided at lunch time and was kept over a gas burner. However, it was always lukewarm at best, as was other food which should have been hot. It was a shame as the food was delicious. The hotel is next door to a large shopping centre, accessible from the hotel through a covered carpark. The shopping centre has a supermarket and a food court with everything you could wish to buy. Very clean and a huge range of vegetables and fruit which is beautifully displayed. There are also Money Changers in the complex, which took us a couple of days to find. From memory, they are in the 'Tech area' on the second from top floor. Very easy to get anywhere from the hotel. For us, taxi's were the best bet which the Concierge will call for you. There's also a railway station attached to the shopping centre. We did a full day Ayutthaya day trip by bus, with a river cruise and buffet lunch provided on the way back. Well worth it. We also went to Jim Thompson House in Bangkok, again well worth it. All in all, we are very happy with our stay and the hotel lived up to our expectations.

Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao is one of the legendary hotel in Bangkok. The hotel has almost 40 years of excellent Thai hospitality, including well maintained guest rooms, delicious F&B, good facilities and outstanding hotel staff.
My mother and I had 2 nights stay at Club Deluxe Twin room on 20th floor. Our room was very clean and well maintained. Housekeeping staff on 20th floor, Khun Patchareeya, was very nice and friendly. She handled our special requests very well and promptly.
All staff and F&B at Club Lounge on 24th floor were the highlight of our stay. Khun Tik, Khun Mook, Khun May, Khun Fang and Khun Pop are very friendly and made our visits at the Club Lounge memorable. Club Lounge has variety of good foods, which came from hotel legendary restaurants eg. Dynasty, Hagi, Suan Bua and Don Giovanni. We confirmed all foods at Club Lounge were delicious. By the way, Khun Tik and Khun Mook are excellent barista, comparing to professional baristas.
We visited Dynasty Chinese restaurant for lunch and Chatuchak Cafe for buffet breakfasts. Khun Naphassorn (or Khun A) and her team at Dynasty were excellent as usual for more than 20 years. Chef Somchai at Chatuchak cafe took a good care of all guests. We realized Chef Somchai was very friendly but very serious about quality control of buffet breakfasts. These are reasons why we loved F&B at the hotel.
We recommended Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao for good location with direct link to Shopping Mall, well maintained rooms, excellent F&B and outstanding staff.

It is 700 meters from Ha Yaek Lat Phrao BTS station and 600 meters from Phahon Yothin MRT station respectively. You can walk from the hotel to Central Plaza (5 min), Chutuchak Weekend Market and J.J. Mall (35 min). The hotel offers shuttle buses to the latter two though I have not used them.
But I had a bad experience asking the hotel staff to get me a taxi. I showed the staff my destination clearly on a google map. But the taxi driver tried to take me to a different place farther away. I don't know whether it was caused by poor communication or dishonesty. I will stick to BTS, MRT or buses in the future to avoid problems with taxi drivers.

This hotel was wonderful and very clean. The breakfast in Chatuchak Cafe is absolutely phenomenal - there are at least 100 options of different foods and juices.
Additionally, TRUST ME and get a Traditional Thai massage while you are there. It was the best massage I've ever gotten and the price was great. I got it on our last night and tried to schedule another one for the morning before I left, but they were booked up. Honestly, I am tempted to go back to Thailand just for a massage at this hotel.
The restaurant Suan Bua at the hotel was really subpar. We were the first people there when it opened, and it still took us over 2 hours to eat and get our check. We asked for our check and a dessert to go simultaneously, and it took 30 minutes (we timed it) to get both. We were falling asleep at the table and so ready to go back to our room!
The pool is beautiful but the hot tub was broken. We were excited to go sit in the hot tub after a long day, but it was cold when we got down there!
We went up to the rooftop restaurant (which is a French bistro), but it wasn't anything special so we didn't eat up there. The skyline was so polluted and cloudy that we didn't even take pictures. (not the hotel's fault but worth noting if you are looking forward to that)

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel.. really felt welcomed… from the arrival till the end of our stay. First we booked for 2 nights only as this Hotel is far from Bangkok Centre but we add another 2 nights in this same Hotel . All the staff were very helpful and cheerful. Its very easy to take BTS (skytrain) as this hotel is connected to the Central plaza ladprao and very easy to hop on the BTS

There is no laundromat in the hotel itself, but maybe you could find one in the adjacent mall - anyhow, laundry service by the hotel is available with reasonable pricing

The hotel has a car pickup service but it’s not free. There is a reasonable rail link/metro if you don’t have much luggage which is very inexpensive. Otherwise use Grab or one of the taxi operators.

I would suggest you check with reservations if you need an additional bed. The room that i stayed was only one king bed. Get a room on the swimming pool side i.e. the front side of the hotel for a good view.
