Stayed 3 nights at the Golden Tulip Mandison suites located in a quiet soi in the Sukhumvit business area of Bangkok, but still very accessible (10 minute walk) to the Ashok Skytrain station. It is just 4 stops from Siam Central and 5 stops from there to the pier at Saphan Taksin for the riverboat. The hotel is modern, with reception located on the 4th floor next to the small pool - just great for a dip after a hard day's sight-seeing! - and has its own on-site reasonably-priced restaurant (OPIO - also does room-service) directly opposite. Breakfast is also served here, and caters very well for all possible tastes - local Thai, South Asian, Westeners and Vegetarian/Vegan. Rooms are large, clean and comfortably furnished, with included safety box, in-room mini-bar/fridge, as well as tea/coffee-making facilities (2 bottles of complimentary water replaced each day). Bathrooms have a large walk-in shower with all the usual trappings and sockets for appliances. Air-con works a treat - even down to 16 degrees - keeping rooms nice and cool. Staff are mostly young, polite, discreet and well-trained. Only grumbles are (1) the in-room plugs/sockets for appliances are not clearly visible and are located underneath the bedside cabinets - management might want to relocate them ABOVE the units to save guests having to crawl on their hands and knees to find them; and (2) staff on bar-duty need more specific training on western drinks & how to serve them properly - eg. I ordered a Pimms No.1 and it came as neat Pimms in a small glass, with a second glass full of ice, rather than as mixed with fruit /cucumber/ mint/ lemonade over ice in a high-ball glass. A small detail but still important. PS: The hotel also provides a tuk-tuk shuttle to Ashok station on demand, but I never discovered whether they also picked-up from the station - perhaps another reviewer can advise.…

Room # 802 - 1 x Night Stay via Agoda It is always like 'Coming back Home' to return to stay here. Staff at reception always make you feel welcome. Rooms are spacious, feel luxurious and are quiet. Breakfast is always something special to look forwards to. Although the carpet was looking a very bit worn on our floor ( #8 ) our room was fine. We look forwards to our already booked, next stay with you in June 2020
