We only stayed in the IBIS for a night, since our flight left in the middle of the night. The rooms are pretty small and only have queen sized beds but they are equipped with everything you need: safe, small fridge to store things, tiny bathroom, a little bit of storage space. The location is fantastic with the BTS and two big malls around the corner. There is also a 7/11 in the building. I personally would only book IBIS if you’re on a budget and don’t have a lot of luggage. There is no space to open up your bags than on the bed.

We had originally booked 4 nights but on reflection near the time as we were arriving at BKK 0630 and of-coarse not being able to check in until 1400 what to do well thought book the night although it was more pro roata than the previous booking, then we could get in as soon as we got there. At reception I was told that the one extra night had been paid from my Booking.com account because it was at short notice and l had only to settle the original booking. I was a bit disappointed that the one extra night was around £10.00 more without breakfast as the original bookings were with breakfast. I think I need a refund. Reception was ok and we went to our room 1416 ,oh they omitted to say what floor anyway we worked out floor 14 room 1416. Pressing buttons going up and down with other guests coming in going out this went on for 10 minutes never stopping at our floor. Enter helpful lady guest “have you ever tapped your room card on the Wi-Fi symbol to activate the card “ no, no body told us that. Thanks reception. I swear our room was built as a single. Luckily we travel light, just hand baggage. Even so we had to use the seating bench for our bags 💼. Were you to have normal size cases plus hand baggage you would not be able to get into the room. There is just no space to lay down a suitcase 🧳 let alone two. You would be constantly tripping over them. Bathroom towels, of course the norm to replace them leave them on the floor. Unfortunately here there are no towel rails or racks. The towels are folded on a lattice square underneath the sink, so when you have used say the bath towel it now wet and with no rail to hang it on it’s never going to dry. Just a small hook. So no where else to leave them it goes onto the floor. Bad for the environment. Second morning being picked up at 0630 to go on a tour. Breakfast started at 0600, happy days, In there at 0600 🧐 the hot food dishes all four of the lids were off. Put my hand over the food didn’t seem to be very hot. I plated what I thought was a sausage and fried egg. We’ll, put that back as the white of the egg was not cooked properly on the top, wobbly jelly hate that. To be fair the server did go to the kitchen and brought me out two more freshly cooked over easy. Oh and the sausage was cold.

If you are looking for a budget hotel in a good lacation, nearby everything like malls, restaurants and easy access. This is your choice. Hotel is lacated in the one of the busiest area in Bangkok on Sukhumvit Road, Phrom Phong which is called as Japanese community. Surrounding with Japanese restaurants and shops. Small tiny clean room with a comfy bed makes a good sleep. Even it is the same building of Mercure Hotel, you are unable to enjoy their pool, fitness and restaurant on 29th floor. It is not allowed. Only restaurants on 8th floor and Deli Bar at ground floor which are shared facilities for both hotels Ibis and Mercure.

The Location of Ibis Hotel near BTS Prompong station, Easygoing to The Emporium and The Emquartier shopping mall. The room a bit small but worth the price paid. I stayed 5 nights at this hotel and was therefore able to get a good feel of the establishment, both the positives and the negatives.
Positives: The room is a good size, clean and well decorated. The room includes a fridge, safe and coffee station. The location of the hotel is excellent. Right next to Phrom Phong Station. The shower always had hot water. The bathroom is nice and clean. The bed is extremely comfortable.
Negative: The walls are paper thin which brings noise in from neighboring rooms. AC vents covered in grime. No gym. No pool (they charge 500 TBH to use the Mercure pool which is a joke). The fridge is full of pre-stocked beverages and snacks leaving little room for your own products. Water doesn't drain well in the shower. The pillows are not comfortable or fluffy. No luggage rack. No chair. Slow elevators. The hotel requires a 2,500 THB deposit. I stayed at at least ten hotels in Thailand on this current trip, and not one other hotel required a deposit, let alone one for 2,500 THB.
Overall, this hotel is nice with one glaring flaw: the paper thin walls which provide no soundproofing from adjacent rooms. You can hear people in the room next to yours having conversations, opening and closing doors and plugging in things in the wall sockets. If you get stuck with someone in a room next to yours who doesn't sleep until late, then you're not going to be sleeping until late as well, it's that bad. If you lean against the wall you will hear the wall creak, that's how bad the insulation and soundproofing is.

On another note, allow me to bring clarifications to some of your comments for the benefit of the Trip Advisor community reading this response. Firstly, we understand that the absence of a gym and pool may be disappointing for some guests. However, Ibis Sukhumvit 24 being a budget brand does not have a pool facility nor is advertise online. That being said, you can purchase a daily access to the Mercure pool and gym at THB 500 which you can eventually redeem on food and beverage consumption in our Vue Bar Rooftop. Ultimately, this allows our guest to decide whether or not they wish to use this facility. Secondly, we require a deposit as this is a standard practice to cover any incidental charges during your stay and is fully refundable at checkout time. Thirdly, I’m sorry to hear about the noise insulation and understand the impact it can have on your overall experience. We could have easily relocated you upon a simple request to our 24hrs operated front desk to a quieter side of the building. Please accept our apologies for all the inconvenience cause. We only spent a night here on 18-19th July, Room #1527 on 15th floor with twin bed away from lifts and noisy areas as our request in advance.
Front Officers, Security guys and Concierge were incredibly friendly, welcoming, helpful, attentive and efficient. They all made my day.
Everthing in my room worked well except drain in the shower. Like a small flood every single time I was having a shower. Definitely need to be fixed.
The other problem was the loudy flush system from somewhere above my room. Pretty noisy and kept me awake every hour whole night. Lucky me I only spent a night here or I would be dead as I had a really bad sleep 😓
Excellent location. Spotlessly clean in all areas. Modern decor. Comfy bed. Nice front garden. Convenient car park. Thumps up to all staff 😉

Who ever is GM at this hotel needs a pay rise. The staff here are so well trained and drilled that they even remember your needs on return trips. I use this hotel for business trips which in February was twice and March also twice. They remember me need for an extra pillow. They always have sincere smiles and welcoming ways about them every time you walk in and out.
OK, I know Ibis rooms are small but they are very functional and comfortable. We have had some great city views from as high up as 19th floor. Water pressure and tepm regulation good in shower. Bed comfy. TV channels OK. Desk space for me with sofa bench.
Coffee shop is good here also. Not so expensive as others plus you get this lovely free chocolate. I even had food here a few times, like ham cheese croissant. Honestly, i look forward to my biz trips to BKK as i am excited to see them all again.
OH and check out the location, right next to the Emporium Mall and BTS Phrom Phong. Seriously superb location for ease of travel, nearby eating out options, street food.

Great location - right next to a BTS station and across malls (Emporium/ Emquartier). Mercure and Ibis is in the same building but has different check-in areas. The building has it's own 711. Room is clean with enough space. It's just like other IBIS in the area but I would say location of this is way better. Across the bldg's 711 there's also a small kiosk for currency exchange that offers great rate, I also appreciate just crossing the road to shop and go around. I didn't have any problem with noise (guess I'm just lucky that my neighbors were not noisy), sad that there is no gym for Ibis (Mercure has one, I believe) but for the budget price and great location and service - this hotel is a good bargain, and I will highly recommend to friends.
