Totally OK hotel, clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Close to the train station out to the airport. Located on a small side street, so airy and comfortable too. Wasn't so much into the view, but who sits in the hotel when you have to discover a new city.

We've stayed here about 4-5 times within 2009-2010, mainly to shop for wholesale clothes for our online store. The staff is a bit moody, sometimes they're cheerful sometimes they're not, but they've gotten to recognize us so we're on good terms, which has gotten us some small extras now and then, like a free room upgrade.

Rooms are generally very clean although there is no ventilation so the air feels musty/stiff at first. There is a bathtub but we've never actually soaked in it for lack of time (there's too much to see&do in bangkok to be busy soaking in a tub!) The tv has some English channels, but again, exploring BKK is better! You can opt for having a fridge in your room for a slightly higher room price. Clean towels are presented every day, although you can expect a tiny stain here n there once in awhile. There was a small cigarette burn hole in our bedsheet once, but we're not too bothered about stuff like that in a budget hotel.

Breakfast is simple, toasted bread with a choice of scrambled eggs/omelette with some veg to go, tea/coffee. Or you can always head out and eat as you walk along the street where vendors sell all kinds of foods.

We like this hotel because it's only 10mins walking distance to the air-conditioned wholesale mall and for the price you pay per night, it's a good deal. There are other store owners from overseasw who stay at this hotel while they shop, so expect to see huge wrapped up packages in the lobby.

The hotel is less than a minute's walk to the mainroad but it's sufficiently quiet in the rooms. Within walking distance, you have the huge Pratunam market, Panthip Plaza, Platinum mall, Pratunam Center, Baiyoke II shopping plaza, and further up, Central World Plaza. You're spoilt for choice when it comes to shopping.

The downside is that it's quite a distance to the nearest BTS train station (the main transit system there that leads to more shopping areas), but they've recently built a new one that's about 10mins walk away. I'm not sure where else it leads yet but this new one can take you straight to the airport within 20mins, apparently. Will be checking it out in Feb 2011.

PROS - Great for budget stay if you're just looking for a clean bed to sleep at nights. Walking distance to shopping madness.
CONS - If you're looking for a budget romantic getaway, try the inns around Sukhumvit area, between Soi 5-15, there are more romantic looking places there. Expect no frills in this hotel, and be nice to the staff so you'll have a higher chance of getting friendlier service. Smiling helps.

The staff's front desk boss is very rude, disrespectful, unorganized, and had not respect for customers. After booking by phone they didn't write down the reservation. We waited for 2 hours for our room. She kept on staring at us rudely and didn't say a word. We had to confront her several times. She finally said they didn't have a standard with breakfast like we booked, but a deluxe which costs a lot more money and they wouldn't include breakfast with the rate. Such a SCAM!!! On top of the rude service.. the hotel is old, smelly, and unclean. The restaraunt does not look cleanily either. We wouldn't eat there. Stay away from this hotel! Book anywhere but here. This is the worst service we have received in Thailand for years. Your money is better spent elsewhere. We moved to another hotel and was much happier.

The place has a rather old style design, staffs are nice, rooms are small and not well soundproof, I could hear the family several rooms away talking till morning.
Location's quite good, close to Sky train's station and some other tourist attractions.

Good location, walking distance to platinum mall around 10mins walk. But need to walk up to 6th floor due to elevator only can accomodate 4 pax per trip and frequently under maintainence. All the furnitures are old and very noisy at walkway. Toilet is not in good condition.

Siam being a pretty prime area in Bangkok, hotels are quite expensive. If you're looking for a cheap well connected hotel in the centre of Bangkok, this is it.
Its not modern but has the basic amenities and a small restaurant.
Located right next to the Baiyoke Sky Tower with Siam Centre, Siam Paragon, MBK Shopping Mall and Tesco Lotus all within a 10 minute taxi/ tuk-tuk ride away.
Room was quite spacious, with free wi-fi (though the connection wasn't great).
It's walking distance from the airport railway link (Ratchaprarop station) so very convenient to travel to the airport.
Lots of restaurants, a market and shopping places around.
Don't expect anything fancy though, you get what you pay for.

Stayed for 3 nights.
Wifi was available (Good coverage)
Rooms overall average:
1) Room was quiet.
2) Beds looks clean
3) AC was fine and cold
4) TV ch was ok (5 cable chs)
5) Toilet was a standing shower (Still looks decent)
6) Furniture were outdated but fine tbh.
Location was a walking distance (5-10mins) walk to Baiyoke /Platinum.M
Hotel located inside an alley so have to ask around for directions.
Just happen that the lift was in maintenance during our stay so had to
slog our bags up the stairs.
Massage parlours are just a stone throw away.
Amenities nearby, convenient store across the road whereas money changer just at the corner before the entrance of the alley.
There's a school along the same lane but I guess it helps alleviate the alley.

Value for money
