The month shown above is when I was supposed to stay. In January 2020 I prepaid two stays for March & April 2020 but the lockdown forced the hotel to close. I accepted the choice of changing the dates to August & September. However in July the hotel was still closed and they did not know when it would reopen, so they agreed to refund my money. Almost 6 months later and I have been told that I will not be refunded until the owner decides to reopen the hotel - end of December it is still closed. The reservationist has been quite charming in trying to let me know the status; obviously that has to be very difficult when you work for a crook..... Accor declined to respond to me.
We stayed here for 4 nights after arriving in Thailand (our 1st visit) before moving away from bangkok. A nice, well-run hotel with a mixture of tourists and business travellers. The most important thing you want after 18 hours travelling is a decent night's sleep. We definitely found the right place for that. No noise from anywhere within the Hotel, and only the slightest bit of Traffic noise from outside. While it's not in the centre of any Tourist areas do not let that put you off. It's just a 10 minute walk to both the BTS Train Station and the River Ferry Terminal. They are literally beside each other, so you can decide which to use when you get there. Good choice of Restaurants, Cafes, Bars nearby (including a Shopping Centre about halfway to the Ferry Terminal. We spent a couple of nights having a few drinks in a tiny place called "Cafe Bar" just down the road from here(walk under the flyover and it is practically facing you as you walk down the street). It only seats about 10 people but a nice spot for watching the local world go by. Foodwise we only had breakfast at the Hotel, but it was very good with a decent choice....and the freshly cooked omelettes were great. Just to compare, when we were coming home a month later we stayed in a decent Hotel fairly close to the Khao San Road. A bit pricier, but a lot more interior noise at night.... and apart from just one adjacent Restaurant that had us hooked straight away, I'd prefer the Novotel. …
I stayed in Novotel Bangkok Silom Road hotel for 3 nights during my trip to Bangkok in September 2019. Location of the hotel is very good with many Indian restaurant like Saravana Bhavan, Indian Delight etc located within walking distance. This hotel is a big one with 20 floors. I was allowed check in at 11.30 am without any extra charge but one has to give a refundable deposit of 1000 baht per night during check in. My room was spacious with king size bed, sofa, working table, cupboard, attached bathroom with all modern amenities and a good view of the tall skyscrapers in Silom. Complimentary breakfast was very good with wide variety of options.
Great staff, all always very friendly Tangmo, Tent, ... room service, at the bar ... all generally very good people. Good situation but the only thing against it is that it is too close to the highway with the consequent contamination.
I stayed for 3 days but my friend lost cell phone in Taxi and I can not remember taxi nember . I asked for reception Mr. Pun for help. He called to find out the cell phone. Finally we got the cell phone. We gave 300 to taxi for return our cell phone.
