It's a nice and clean hostel, a lot better than other hostels I have visited. But keep in mind that it is still a hostel, not a hotel.
The staff is friendly and very helpful if you have any questions, and their English is very good. There's even a security guard at night, he is also very friendly.

I liked the interior a lote and the atmosphere is chill. I liked the room too (I was in a 12 persons mix room, 4 of the bed where behind a wall so it was more lite 4 + 8). The beds are a bit hard, but they had curtains so you get some privacy. There wasn't really that many other people staying at the same time as me.
The ac is nice too!
They offer a lite box that you get your own key to, it's by your bed, where you can store valuables. But I felt like it could be quite easy for someone to break in to it..

The ladies bathroom is located on the 2. floor and the mens on the 1. floor, and there are no other toilets on the floor to use, so you might have to go up/down for going to the bathroom. There's an elevator if you don't like stair.
I would recommend taking a small towel with you for drying your hands on after washing them, since there isn't any small towels or paper by the sinks.

I hade the breakfast included in my booking, but I ended up only eating breakfast there one time.. It's a bit on the dull, you can choose from a few alternatives.. so I wouldn't recommend paying for it before comming there and seeing it for yourself.

I would say that it's a bit outside from the centrum and the temples and so, but it's easy to take a cab. I used Grab for booking my transport, that way I wouldn't have to explain the address and you don't get too overcharged! Watch out for that, it's very common that they charge you more fore being a tourist. The same goes for tuktuks.

There are some good small restaurants nearby and a lot of street food! 7-eleven's are also easily found in like every second corner.

But I would definitely stay here again if I were to visit Bangkok!

Stayed there for 6N, 5 of us took 4 rooms (Double room and Deluxe Queen)

Let's start with the good:
(+) Friendly boss who is a young chap
(+) Nice decor
(+) Bottled water was replenished daily if u indicate that they should make up your room.
(+) Relatively convenient location especially if your primary mode of transport is by Grab / taxi since it is below 100baht for a ride to Siam station where there are lots of malls. Multiple convenience stores (7-11) and street food just an alley away
(+) Good room size (sufficient space to open large suitcase)
(+) We'll arrange furnishing / functional furniture (all from IKEA)
(+) Comfortable bed and pillows
(+) Good water pressure in shower

But really... Be aware of the shortcomings before you book your stay. Here's our experience:
(-) Incompetent staff
(i) we reported a clogged/choked toilet in the morning and by the time we got back at 9pm, the problem was NOT fixed
(ii) Staff promised to help make an appointment for massage in the morning but failed to do so

(-) Issues with Double Room are more prevalent than for Deluxe Queen Rooms

(-) There were ANTS in the room when we expected none

(-) Room was not cleaned well at all, for example... Hair in shower was NOT removed for days and I did it myself because I did not want problems to arise
(-) Fresh toilets were only handed out every 3nights when I asked for new ones on day 2! (To my horror!)
(-) Lack amenities... For example... When I checked in... There were only TWO hangers, I asked for more and was told that they are fully booked and they don't have spare hangers and can only arrange for that the following day.
(-) Apart from the boss... Other staff cannot fluently communicate in English or rather... It was obvious that they do struggle... So they avoid providing more information or make small talk bcos they lack confidence in using the language... Not a big deal but if they were more fluent and more chatty... It would have enhanced traveller experience and trust me... Bkk has many other hostels/hotels with amazing staff!
(-) Quite a walk from the BTS station and the walk when it's night time can be pretty treacherous due to poor street lighting (virtually none) and lots of uneven roads/pavements.

All in all... It is a quaint and comfortable place for backpackers but it isn't all that ideal for families/travellers who expect more convenience/efficiency from staff. I would stay there again if I would like to lend the young boss my support.

My fiancé and I stayed here recently for 3 nights a really enjoyed the modern look and super clean feel of the hostel. It makes you feel like you're staging in a boutique hotel. They were accommodating with our earlier than usual check in and even more so with our extraordinarily late check out. They helped us book tours and find taxis at a discounted price. The area is quiet but close enough to walk the amazing Siam and paragon mall and the sky train. The two receptionists Apple and Ping were exceptionally helpful with everything. The rooms were very clean, comfortable had a great A/C unit and a nice big window that let in lots of natural light. The restaurant was quaint and offered some great snacks and breakfast. Definitely recommend to stay here in Bangkok.

I spent 4 days at this hostel. The feedback is absolutely positive. When you enter this place, you are surrounded by plants, light and object of design.
The rooms are big, provided with powerful air conditioning systems. Bathroom clean and new. Shared spaces nice and big.
Receptionist friendly and helpful. Laundry service upon request.

I spent one week at the Spades. I found the location to be perfect for me. It is a short walk from Phaya Thai where the airport bus and train stop, as well as the MBK Mall and the #53 bus to all the temples and sites. I recommend downloading the free Maps.me app which works without internet and gives good walking / driving directions. I had problems with the tuk tuk drivers in Bangkok so I recommend walking, taking the bus / train, Uber or Grab Taxi to save yourself the shake down. This hostel is SO easy to find, I don't understand why others had a problem but my guess is it was the fault of the tuk tuk / taxi, not the location.
My experience with the staff was excellent. Everyone spoke perfect English and was extremely helpful and pleasant. Thank you Ping, Helen, Den, Ma and Mi.
My room was one of the single pod style rooms on the Mezzanine and I found it perfect for my needs. The hostel is very comfortable, well decorated and clean. I met some very nice people relaxing in the common room watching netflix on the big screen tv. I think, as with any hostel, it all depends on who else is there at the time and is basically just luck. It is a quieter more peaceful hostel and for me that is a positive thing.
The beds are a little on the hard side as all beds in Thailand are, but they offer a soft topper if you need one so just ask. The bedding is the nicest of any place I have stayed in this price range ever. Very good quality.
If I am ever back in Bangkok, I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of a 3 month backpacking trip....it was just what we needed after feeling jet lagged and groggy. The rooms were perfectly clean and fresh. I really loved the way the place had been decorated as well - so cute!! It was a quiet and relaxing place to stay in the craziness of Bangkok. Only negatives is that our room wasn't cleaned at all during our stay and the lady that checked us in seemed really miserable (all the other staff were lovely).

10 mins walk to the skytrain and close to MBK shopping centre also. I would stay here again and would definitely recommend!

Spent 4d/3n with 8 friends and we had a relaxing time. There weren’t too many guests so the place was practically ours. The staff (especially those assigned at night) were very courteous. One of them even accompanied us to buy dinner at the nearby hawker. The rooms were clean and spacious. There were adequate cubicles in the lavatory. The air conditioning was excellent. The living room was spacious. The surrounding area was very peaceful. My only concern was the lavatory was in a different floor. It was quite a hassle to go to especially in the middle of the night. Shoes were left at the ground floor and some guests had smelly feet. Please put air freshener

I was traveling with my family and family friends, including children. We got a large room, and stayed over a week. The facilities were clean, the A/C was freezing cold, the beds were comfy, and the cafe makes delicious food. The bathrooms are shared, which was a little weird but ok. My biggest complaint was there was no towel to dry my hands with in the bathroom. Other than that, a great stay. The kids were a bit rowdy but the staff had no problem with them playing and watching tv in the common area. My sister got a private room, which was nice because it had a private bathroom and the door wasn't made of glass, as ours was. There is a 7/11 around the corner, and street food within walking distance. Also within walking distance was the Jim Thompson House, which was perfect because we were getting married there. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
