Nirvana Garden-Hotel is located in a tranquil oasis right in the heart of Thamel: Kathmandu's hub of touristic area, within walking distance of the Royal Palace Museum, the shopping and business district and areas of touristic interest. One step away from the hustle and bustle of Thamel, guests can enjoy the serene comfort of an expansive and lush landscaped garden replete with a rocky waterfall and a profusion of flowers, trees and birds. The hotel is unique, starting from its prime location, a spacious parking area, the ambiance and decor of the lobby and rooms to the Nepalese architecture of the hotel structure. The service is friendly but efficient and polite but personal, catering to all the needs of a discerning guest. The hotel aims to provide international standard accommodation and service with a touch of warm Nepalese hospitality at very affordable prices.

If you need a quiet hotel in the middel of Thamel this is it. Nice rooms, wonderfull garden, the whole staff are very polite and welcomming - you are always met with a smile and ‘namaste’. We have been here three times, and we will for sure come back again and again. An advise: use the taxidriver in the green car outside the gate. He is so nice, a good driver inthe caotic traffic of Kathmandu, really fair price. He has been running his taxi from this place for more than 20 years. Have a nice stay at Nirvana Garden Hotel.

The room is quite comfortable. The hotel provides drinking water, tea and coffee in the room and a breakfast buffet is also included. It is spaceous. It gets very noisy at night. In the early morning, a close construction site creates a lot of noise. The garden is wonderful and the terrace in the room is very nice, but i didn't use any as most of the time it was very noisy outside. The hotel is overprised if you consider that there is no hot water!!! The lack of hot water for the shower is very disappointing. I would avoid to stay in this hotel again. No value for money.

My friend and I stayed for 2 nights here (the first day we arrived to Kathmandu, and the last day before we departed from Kathmandu), and we somehow got the same room. We could not say anything negative about the location of this hotel. It is at the heart of Thamel, yet due to its position and thanks to its beautiful garden, it could still maintain its serenity. The room is okay. Not perfectly clean, but okay. Very well-lighted with large balcony. It is not air-conditioned (which is actually not necessary). The staffs were helpful and friendly. The only drawback is the unstable supply of hot water. Regarding breakfast menu, if you have time to roam outside the hotel, you better eat outside, as the breakfast is not as satisfying (in terms of variety and taste).

I stayed with a group of nine a few months back and we all stayed there. The rooms were nice enough but odd that I had 3 beds in my room so the extra space was minimal. The room wifi was terrible and often got almost 0 when i needed it. The shower was also not good as it drizzled out with 0 pressure. This was the same when I returned to the same room 24 days later. The staff was good from what I recall and the rooms were clean for sure. The garden was an excellent idea an d privatish area that we cold meet for beers and just lay low. you cold eat there or have a beer to get off the streets and the traffic wasnt hard form the garden area at all. Prices seemed good for meals and drinks and it was located so a short walk to everything. It is for sure nothing fancy as far as rooms go but its nepal and not a big western City. I would stay again if I went back but jsut be prepared for very low wifi and a weak shower.

There could only be one reason to stay in this place, and that is because it’s situated in Thamel area. For the rest I cannot think one reason why you should go here. The last time maintainance and cleaning have been taken place, must have been in the sixties of the last century. The rooms are noisy. I thought my neighboor was sitting on my toilet but walls seem to be made of paper. Breakfast is good if you are a masochist and what “deluxe” is on the Deluxe rooms: I have no clue. Even the space of the room is below every standard. On the day we came, there was a tray with used cups and plates in front of one of the rooms. Three days later, it wasn’t still removed. Just like dirty laundry just beside the staircase. It layed there as long as we were there. It was a kind of Faulty Towers hotel but then with less humor.

Close to the bustle of Thamel, this oasis is located down an alley away from the noise of Thamel in Kathmandu. The rooms were simple but clean. The garden (where l am sitting right now) is pleasant and quiet. We have found the staff friendly and helpful. Quite a good value for the location.

We used this hotel as home base and spent a total of 7 nights in 3 different rooms between treks and adventures over a 3 week period. We were able to leave some belongings with them for safe keeping while away. The staff were friendly and helpful without exception. The location at the end of a lane off a busy Thamel street is an oasis of calm. The included breakfast is varied and plentiful. The rooms were in need of a thorough cleaning, as in washing the bed covers and blankets, but the sheets and towels were clean. The bathrooms are definitely in need of upgrades. Each room we stayed in had leaky plumbing so a lot of water was wasted. Having said this, I would probably stay here again.

We have stayed in this hotel on three different trips to Nepal. We have tried others, but still prefer this one. The staff are lovely -- friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and kept quite clean by Nepal standards. The rates are reasonable and the garden is great because it shields your accommodations from the hustle and bustle of the street; it is quite private once you get to the end of the long driveway where the hotel sits. The food is ok and is prepared with thought to the finicky stomachs of westerners, however, we prefer to venture out to one of the many restaurants close by that have been popping up over the last few years. If you're off to a very early start in the morning they will even pack you a box lunch which is pretty good!

This is a quite nice hotel, but our room had a horrible smell coming from the bathroom and the toilet didn't flush properly. We should have complained but were only there for two nights and couldn't face moving rooms, probably the staff would have been really good about it. The rooms are big and comfortable and the breakfast is fine. The location is great at free Wifi is good.

It is a pleasure to stay at the hotel. Rooms are cleaned very properly every day including a change of towels. Beautiful and flowery large garden, nicely lit in the evenings. Honest staff - unlockt and expensive mobile phone forgotten in the garden was undoubtedly provided back by the staff. Good service in the dining room \ bar. No problems with wifi.
