Detailed Reviews
I took 3 hours during a stopover and it was a great experience! Everything was clean, well maintained and modern. Prices are affordable, bed comfy, water hot, wifi fast…the only little downside is that there was no hairdryer available in the bathroom. I would highly recommend staying there if you have a longer stopover in Addis airport.

To be clear, there are two (2) Skylight Hotels at the Airport. One is inside the airport and is for transit passengers only. The other is outside the airport about 0.5 km away. This review is for the In-Terminal Hotel.
In general, it is clean and convenient. The best part is staying within the airport so you don't have to go in and out of security, etc. That in itself is worth a price if your flights are widely spaced. While the price is high for Addis, the convenience alone is worth it if you can afford it.

The service was quick and helpful during the check in process.
The restaurant service was impeccable with the waiter Yibeltal being helpful and kind. I would definitely recommend anyone who goes to Skylight in terminal hotel to request for the service of Yibeltal. Service rating for Yibeltal: 10/10.

As a frequent business class traveler on Ethiopian Airlines, I had high expectations for the Skylight In Terminal hotel at Addis Ababa airport. However, my recent experience was deeply disappointing. Despite booking a room for one night, I was informed upon arrival that the hotel was fully booked. This lack of availability, combined with their refusal to upgrade us and the suggestion to go to their in-town hotel, showed a lack of respect for guests.
As a seasoned traveler accustomed to layovers, I anticipate a certain level of professionalism and respect from hotels associated with the airline. The Skylight In Terminal hotel failed to meet these expectations. The inconvenience caused and the disregard for guest comfort and satisfaction left me deeply disappointed.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend the Skylight In Terminal hotel to fellow business class travelers on Ethiopian Airlines. The lack of availability, inconvenience, and overall lack of respect shown towards guests were significant letdowns.

Amazing place, bad staff. They do not know their work well, have significant delays in everything, are extremely slow, and can easily lose your booking and never find it. They will then offer you the more expensive rooms. It is frustrating and annoying. If you tell them you booked through the official website, they tell you “it has a problem” and proceed to ignore your request altogether.

Apart from the convenience of its location this hotel is dreadful. Given the ongoing renovations in the airport terminal it is a nightmare to get to. The majority of rooms have no window at all, which makes them very claustrophobic, and they smell bad. The breakfast buffet was very sad and the staff are surly and unhelpful.

The food was not bad although they have to do something about the very hard meat . Second I really hated the customer service ot was very unexceptional. My family and I come from a weather fair country and we weren't expecting the weather to be cold,I'd asked for covers or duvets to sustain is but they never came I ended up asking 3 more times while trying to be more understanding bit they never came and my family were traveling with an infant , who can easily get sick. But they never came and had me waiting a good 6 hours + .which was very disappointing for a first time . So their customer service was lacking and extremely disappointing.

Whilst we were in a 9 hour tranist at the Transit Hotel, we had great service and the best coffee EVER at the cafe in the main Hotel, made and served with a smile and joke from Yeabsira, he definitely made the 36 hour journey a bearable one - thanks. The cakes looked fresh, unfortunately we did not sample any, just coffee for us!!

The room is aesthetically pleasing, but ultimately very uncomfortable. I stayed here on two different nights (outbound flight and return flight) and in two different rooms. I was very disappointed both times.
Although the temperature outside in Addis Ababa was 16 degrees on my first stay and 20 degrees on my second stay, the temperature in the room did not go below 26 degrees (and sometimes reached 27 degrees). On my first night I had lukewarm water. The second time, the water was ice cold. Perhaps the managers of the hotel consider this refreshing after a night of sweating in the overly hot rooms.
Otherwise, I have no complaints. The internet worked and the staff was polite. But I got so desperate with the overheated room that I even tried sleeping on the tile floors. While this did cool me down a bit, ultimately the discomfort from the hard tiles was too much.
The hotel knows it has a problem and seems to have known it for a while, judging by some of the reviews here. Still, nothing is being done to solve it. I shall not be returning.

The A section rooms are awfully. Lots of noise and very loud noise from the terminal prevent any attempt to sleep. Fortunately for me, a lady receptionist named Frehiwat Bekure managed to move me in the B section rooms where I could find some sleep. She is a great customer representative.
