Disappointed the jacuzzi jets were inoperable and there was no indication of this at their website but was compensated for this on my bill.. On the other hand, their breakfast buffet was up and running, fresh biscuits, eggs, bacon, bagels and danishes. Theresa was very attentive at the buffet, making sure everything was wiped down after being touched. Bed was also clean and very comfortable.

We stayed here for Vet Med graduation at ISU and I was very pleased with our room.
I have to say that it was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Years ago, I was a hotel maid so my standards are quite high and Maricel (hope I spelled that right), did not disappoint. I have stayed in much fancier, much pricier hotels but this one was cleaner than many fancy, expensive hotels where I've stayed in the past.
The lobby was nicely decorated and also quite clean. Staff was very friendly. I really wish I'd gotten the name of the man at the front desk because he was so friendly and helpful. We ordered food from a local restaurant and it arrived without napkins or all the utensils we needed. One call to the desk was all I needed to correct the problem. The man at the desk offered to bring me the items we needed but I told him I'd come down to get them. When I arrived at the desk, he was busy with another guest, but quickly grabbed the items and held them out for me to take, without even taking a break from the other people he was helping. He did it all with a smile on his face too. This is not the fanciest hotel I've stayed in, but to be completely honest, I'd rather stay here than some of the fancy ones, I've stayed in that weren't as clean or didn't have such nice staff.
I'll probably choose this hotel again should I need one in Ames in the future.
Highly recommend.
The bed was comfortable. The only drawback was that the pillows were smaller than regular but once I got used to that (I'm used to a king sized pillow), I slept quite well.
One piece of advice too, if you stay in a handicapped accessible room, position the bath mat a little ways back from the shower as there isn't a lip to contain the water and the mat gets wet. This is to make the shower wheelchair accessible, so doesn't detract from the room, but if the mat is too close, it does get wet.

No major frills but no glaring deficiencies either. Acceptable for my needs on this trip. I think the cleaning staff forgot to finish cleaning the bathroom and stock the fridge with complimentary water, but otherwise it was an average or slightly above stay.

It's a tired old hotel name that I won't book again. Room was clean and quiet.
The breakfast cook supposedly called in sick so waffles was the only hot option. That being the case, no other hotel employee refilled coffee thermoses, refilled the syrup and batter dispensers, washed tables or emptied the trash. Watched a young lad make himself a waffle and eat it dry. Sad.

Hi there, On behalf of the entire staff at the Country Inn & Suites, I wanted to thank you for your feedback. We are aware of some issues surrounding breakfast that we are working to address, and in addition a complete refresh to the hotel is in progress. I know that this experience was disappointing, but I hope that with our improvements we may be able to provide you with an exceptional experience if you do choose to book with us again in the future.

The staff was extremely rude! The front desk person barely said a word. The toilet was plugged when we got the room. When we called for a plunger, he said he wasn’t sure they had one. Then brought it and just handed it to me and walked away. Then housekeeping woke us up at 8:20 am! When my daughter went to see if she could just grab something quick in the breakfast room, the attendant was rude and told her she needed to feed her staff and they were closed. It was 9:00 am. Still a ton of food out.

My son’s baseball team stayed here while playing baseball in Nevada.
The pros:
*Clean room - I wiped our room down with Chlorox wipes right away & was pleasantly surprised how little dirt I found. There were some spots on the carpet & woodwork, but nothing that worried me for COVID19.
*Plenty if outside seating (with a firepit). This was a major player in me picking this hotel.
*Pool still open
*Great location - East drive to Nevada & to restaurants in the area
*Very friendly hotel staff.
*Price

Cons:
*Wear & tear of the hotel (Stains on carpets & woodwork)

A suggestion to the hotel would be to post at the check in desk what the breakfast options were. This would be helpful for both the workers & for the guests.

Room was damp and a bit run down. AC didn't fix the dampness, there were only two towels for a two day stay, no provision or effort to change them out. Breakfast was stated as being provided via bagged breakfast available at the front desk. It wasn't either day all we managed to receive the first day was water, nothing the second.

We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast each morning with hot scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes or biscuits and gravy. Also pancakes or waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast, muffins, etc. ( No sack breakfast with a granola bar and water.)
Everything was immaculately clean so we felt very safe from germs.

The staff was also wonderful! Ray at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Teresa in the kitchen/dining area was also very nice.

Our room was lovely and clean. The bed and pillows very comfortable!

The check in was fast and the person was nice and understood english. They helped us get a room change to be near our friends on another floor.
The room was clean and everything worked.
The morning breakfast was nicely varied, hot, the fruit fresh and a person was there to help.
Only negative: internet was slow and no exhaust fan in bath so mirror steamed while showering. Minor stuff.

Booked room thru Priceline, evening Travel thru Ames. Nov 17, 2021.
Rate was $69 for the night.

Arrived at to find out the clerk was on the phone with Priceline about the rate.

He kept saying his Rack rate was $99 and he could'nt honor it. I was saying that was between him and Priceline. He kept asking guy on phone what was their commission with Priceline. I said that was not my problem. He kept repeating his rack rate was $99. We cancelled our room and went down the road for $78 a night. Not customer friendly. Clerk was rude. You would have thought he would have honored for $30 bucks plus their taxes just to keep a customer happy. Not my Problem that someone authorized Priceline for same night stay of $69. Priceline did give us a full refund as it was prepay. I won't try to stay there.
