Looking for a unique experience? The David School Inn is just the place! We chose the Inn due to its location but mostly because seriously—how often can you stay in a school house built in 1908? Everything was amazing, from booking to checkout. Lyle reserved a larger room in the newer part of the inn, yet when our adult son decided to drive over and stay with us, Lyle and Tammy quickly booked us into the ‘Red’ Reading-Themed classroom. The room had ample space for us and the beds were very comfortable. It was so cool to stay in a classroom, especially being a retired educator who taught reading intervention for years!! Lyle and Tammy brought a delicious full breakfast (Coffee and teas in room, along with a mini-fridge and dishware/glassware) right to the room. They also had excellent tips on sites within a 100 mile radius. The tour of the inn/history of the school was an added bonus. We will definitely be back when traveling in the area!

Davie School Inn is truly a unique place that will delight any traveler looking not only for comfort and convenience, which it provides in abundance, but also for that something special that adds to the overall experience. The rooms are spacious, full of light, with comfortable beds, nice kitchenettes conveniently equipped for some basic needs, nice bathrooms, plus super interesting furnishings and artifacts reflecting the previous function of the building, i.e. that of a school. There is also a very nice deck on the side of the building, where our group enjoyed spending afternoons and evenings. The owners, Tammy and Lyle, went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We got an interesting tour of the building at the beginning, during which we learned about the history of the place. Every morning, we were treated to a delicious homemade breakfast, and every evening, Lyle and Tammy would get a great fire going for us in the outside fire pit. With the many attractions nearby on top of all that, it was a wonderful environment to celebrate our friends' 50th wedding anniversary.

This was a great experience. Sure reminded me of my old middle school. Brough back some memories, bad and good. I would definitely stay here again, but chose a different room. The history room is on the top floor, and the train that went by kept waking us up with tooting its horn. The second nite was much quieter, although there was a train, the horn was silent. The people are fantastic, hard workers, very knowledgeable, and friendly. Also very noisy creaky floors, but thats part of the ambiance. The food was great. We had 8 in our party and we had a seperate place to eat together, the other choice was breakfast brought to our rooms.

The room is an entire old grade school classroom, super clean, with a modern bathroom that had two sinks and a whirlpool bath AND a shower. There was a luxurious king bed, a record player, chalkboards, huge windows, dining table, sofa, chairs, desk, fridge, mircowave, coffee maker.... Reasonable price included a full delicious breakfast in room.

Went here for my birthday weekend and it was a nice surprise. They were waiting for me at the front desk when I arrived and, due to a guest's error, they needed to move my room from green to blue. I understood and appreciated that they were open and honest with me. The blue was perfect, especially for a single traveler like me.

The breakfast was delicious both days and they also had wine glasses and bottle openers in the room so I could open the wine I bought on the wine trail easily. I even wrote on the chalkboard! I wanted to stay again over New Years but they were booked solid. Next time I need a weekend away, this will be the first place I check for availability.

We stayed at the Davies School Inn last night. The Inn's hallway is decorated with different desks, school books and even the original drinking fountains! We went back in time in the "white" "math" themed classroom. The room had all of the charm and nostalgia of the classroom like student desk, black board, school clock, built in bookcase and the coat room is now the bathroom...so cool! The spacious room also had all the comforts of a bed & breakfast including king bed, couch, loveseat, dining table, TV, and kitchenette with frig, sink, microwave, & kurig machine. As a retired teacher of 35 years, I enjoyed the personal tour the owner Lyle gave us. Lyle also delivered us a wonderful breakfast in the morning. He was even able to accommodate my food allergy with an alternate menu. I highly recommend this unique Inn. On our next trip, we will book one of the other themed classrooms.

I had heard about the Davie School Inn and was intrigued so we decided to stay there on our latest excursion to Southern Illinois. It did not disappoint! The rooms were spacious and comfortable. They had the rooms “themed” making it so interesting to just look around your room. A fantastic breakfast was served in our room. Every effort was made to make our stay special and it was! We definitely plan to stay again!

The Davies School B and B in Anna Illinois was a wonderful getaway. We were within minutes of state parks ( we went to Fern Cliff) , wine trails, and other activities . Our host gave us a tour of the renovated school house. As a retired teacher I was very happy to see such good use being made of an older school building. We stayed in the old music/art room and enjoyed reliving childhood memories. We had provided popcorn, hot chocolate and a dvd at night. The full breakfast in the morning is served to your room and it was delicious! We definitely would like to return and tryout a larger suite with the four post bed, large jacuzzi , and fireplace!

The Davie School Inn (The school our mother attended as a girl!) is exceptional! Proprietors Lyle and Tammy Woodrum took great care of us, ,making us feel right at home. This wonderful inn, where comfort, relaxation and a hearty breakfast (adaptable to your needs) are just the beginning, is a few minutes walk from downtown Anna, IL with its friendly shops. Davie School has been decorated with treasures that preserve the fun and charm of the original schoolhouse along with all the amenities of a comfortable residence. We visited Anna for the 2024 Eclipse and were treated to a delightful eclipse party hosted by Tammy and Lyle: looking out over the back of the property with its small lake and park grounds we enjoyed meeting other guests as we watched the moon make its transit across the sun. Thank you Tammy and Lyle for a memorable and enjoyable visit. We hope to come back one day soon.

The rooms are large and comfortable with themes for each one. This visit we stayed in a previous second grade classroom that has been re imagined as an art and music space. Fun message and drawings are left on the blackboards. Breakfasts were delicious and large with a differing assortment of egg dishes, bacon or sausage, fruit, pastry, and one morning delicious French toast! Coffee and tea are always available. Movies and popcorn are, too.

I'm sorry for the delay in responding. We just got access with the transition to new ownership. We do not allow pets for a number of reasons (guest allergies, possible room damage, wear and tear, the cost for additional cleaning, etc.). The only exception we make is for certified service animals. Sorry......
