My best friend and I decided to do a fun getaway after we both received our vaccinations and we chose this place, as he had priorly visited. Having never been to Belize nor a private island, I was quite excited. This place and staff exceeded every expectation. From the moment we landed in Placencia, they made sure a cab picked us up to bring us to the docks. Here we were greeted by Freddie, Juan, and Franklin, the captain. It was quite a scenic ride to the shockingly small and remote island. After stepping off the boat, every care in the world disappeared until we returned to mainland. The cabana we would be staying in was just exactly what it needed to be, a place to sleep. We spent every waking moment outside enjoying the island's views, weather, and amenities. We took in snorkeling, paddle-boarding, kayaking, handline fishing, and of course the infamous ring toss game. Keith was really helpful with all the water activities and knowledge of the water and its wildlife. The food that was cooked up for us (we did the all-inclusive package, which I would recommend) was absolutely delicious, especially the local cuisine. Freddie's drinks at the bar were some of the best takes on tropical cocktails I ever had, and Freddie made sure I was never thirsty, wherever I was on the island. The island, the staff, the atmosphere; all these things made it one of the most unique, relaxing, and rejuvenating vacations of my life. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to really get away and cannot wait to start planning going back! Thanks again to the entire staff there! …
We took a boat ride from Placencia to Ranguana for a day of snorkeling and relaxing. Tommy was a great host, providing us with great drinks, food and friendly service. The ride from Placencia is about an hour by slow boat, but the ride is scenic and always filled with colorful entertainment by our captain. The snorkeling is beautiful, great reef filled with all sorts of wildlife. We say a few spotted eagle rays and other cool fish along the easy swim. Thanks to Tommy and the whole crew for a great time and we will be back!
We used Trip Advisor to help decide on excursions for our time in Placencia. We chose Ranguana Caye because it was highly rated. We were met by our guide, Evel, at the dock and we took off for a 20+ mile boat ride to this tiny, beautiful island. We were the only passengers this day and we had the island to ourselves. We were enthusiastically greeted by Shadow, the island dog, and Tommy, the wonderful bartender. Evel took us around the Caye snorkeling and then we enjoyed a lovely lunch. Evel and my husband played a fun game of cornhole. We pressured Evel to take us snorkeling again and he did so briefly as time was a factor. We very much enjoyed this day.
We cannot say enough good things about this tiny little island. The people, the food, the snorkeling, and just being completely disconnected from everything else is truly a life changing experience. We even got to swim with dolphins to top it off!
Truly an island experience at Ranguana you wake up on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean surrounded by the most pristine blue water and beautiful marine life. This is hands down my favorite resort I have been to and I will forsure be coming back very soon. Tommy and Juan (the manager) made our experience so special and anything we wanted to do, they made it happen! We even got to snorkel with a pod of dolphins :)
