We are a same sex couple with some physical limitations age 50, 47 so we were a little hesitant to travel to Belize but also didn’t want to miss it. Chaa was more than gracious and accommodating in every way. We felt very safe and well taken care of. We stayed for six nights in late March. It is hot in March still during the day but cools to comfortable in the evening. Bugs were not a problem. But we wore bug spray day and night. We had cottage 8, one of the newest with a/c, stocked mini fridge, sink and just beautiful. Very close to everything. Which was good for us. Bed side lights were lovely. Umbrellas outside the door. Coffee pot. My only suggestion is maybe local coffee as an option too. We chose Barton creek, Tikal, horseback riding, spa and atv tour around the grounds for our excursions. All were perfect for us but we would likely choose a ruin closer to chaa next time. Tikal is a very long hot day with much walking and many stairs. A bit much for us. But we do not regret the experience either! Tikal was our choice before we ever arrived. The stables staff were very accommodating allowing us to have slower horses and take our time while others wanted to go a bit faster accommodating their needs as well. Barton creek canoeing was easy peasy. Relaxing and magnificent. Not to be missed. The food oh my oh my the food. Belize can make you hungry and Chaa does not disappoint, at any meal. I cleaned my plate daily. All of our drinks were lovely as well. There is a 12.5% tax added to everything incidental but this is for everything and everyone in the country not just Chaa But be prepared for it. We did not find the prices unreasonable or over priced considering the quality and location. We had a meal plan for all meals and were glad we did. It seemed about the same either way you go. I certainly would have paid more at home in Florida for everything. The gift shop has really great items. We bought most of our things there. The quality of Chaa items is also better I noticed. Very lovely customer service as everywhere at Chaa. This place is magical and straight out of a movie. Once in A life time experience. Although we met a family on their third visit. The pictures do not do it justice. It is very romantic setting but families were here also. It never felt crowded. Many times you felt as if you had the place to yourself even with a full house. Three things that make it super special. The nature/grounds, the food, and above all the staff. This place would not be the same with out it’s staff. Everyone is lovely, kind and comes to you with an open heart. We have our favorites and I am sure I’m messing up the spelling but hopefully you know who they are: Alice, Meshock, Saul, Rodney, Kevelin, and of course Mac who is a pro in concierge and took care of our every need daily. We are terrible at names so I know we missed some of your names. But thank you thank you thank you. It was truly an honor to be cared for and come and visit your beautiful country. Thank you. The Bullas…
The Lodge at Chaa Creek is perfection!! We stayed here for a few days during President's Week and it could not have been better. The setting is beautiful, in the middle of the rain forest. We were in a garden villa, which was great for our family of four--two adults and two teens. The thatched roof is very authentic and the rooms were spacious and clean. The food was excellent--at breakfast don't miss the corn tortillas and fry jacks. The dinners varied each evening and were plentiful and fresh. The bar was amazing, with a large array of infused liquors and amazing, creative mixologists. Pool was beautiful. Concierge helpful. Each day we went on a different excursion. This was one of the most special places in the world we have ever been!!
The villas were so beautiful. While the excursions were interesting, simply relaxing in the extreme privacy of the villa patio listening to the wildlife of the jungle was magical. All of the staff members were amazing, especially Candi.
The Lodge at Chaa Creek... the Flemings have created a luxurious oasis in paradise. An oasis where you are surrounded by rain forest, serenaded by Howler Monkeys, and pampered by marvelous staff. The food is beyond delicious, the grounds are immaculate, the pool is fabulous. We highly recommend The Lodge at Chaa Creek.
Our Chaa Creek experience was both memorable & magical...wish we could've had another night or two! Fantastic food, excellent staff, and a wide variety of activities (including just lounging around the pool!) - well fed, well taken care of, and plenty to do - what more could you ask for?!?
Amazing! Great people, great place, great food. So much to do. THANK YOU!!!! Especially thank you to Marie at the front desk, Candi, Ryan... thank you all! Easy to get around, so much life, so many plants, so many birds... and crazy to see all of it come to life at night too
Our family of four had a wonderful stay at Chaa Creek. The guides are great, highly recommended the ATM tour. We did the beach/Jungle package, and loved the combination. The food at Chaa Creek is 5 stars!
Our stay at Chaa Creek was wonderful. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was outstanding. The grounds were wonderful to explore and all the guides were knowledgeable and great teachers. The rooms were perfect for families and was lovely. I would stay here again.
Chaa Creek is truly first-class! We loved our treetop villa so much that it was hard to leave to do anything else! This place is really amazing, the rooms, the staff, the food, but don’t miss the private tours. The guides are so knowledgeable and cater to what you want. We loved ATM cave and Tikal. The property is beautiful and so many species of birds and sounds of the jungle at night. We hope to return someday!
What an amazing experience - if I could give 10 stars, I would! Everyone we interacted with was a joyful professional: Christine in reservations, our guides Daren and Eduard, chefs Luby and Chelsea, Mr. Mick, and the very wonderful and thoughtful Nelson who provided personal service during our stay. The Orchard Villas room arrangement was ideal for our family group. We loved the screened in setting; it was shaded and cool, and allowed us to hear the abundant birds and monkeys. We enjoyed the high-quality menus, cocktail service, and special events for our family. The pool was awesome for the kids! The hiking trails were well marked and maintained; the canoe and medicinal plant features were especially interesting. Our favorite guided tours were to the Barton Creek caves and Xunantunich archeological reserve. The booking process included all of the transfers, making this a pleasant logistical experience as well. It was our first time to Belize and we definitely want to go back to Chaa Creek!…
