Very clean, convenient to everything on the island. If you arrive by water taxi, it is only 700 feet down to the inn. If you fly in or out, which we did on the way out it was 5 minute golf cart taxi ride. The water taxi took about 45 minutes and I would not recommend if you have water/motion sickness. New owners have done several facelifts on the property…including painting rooms, matching furniture, local artwork, luxurious towels, etc. If you want to walk to a beach, 2-3 blocks either way…or bicycle, taxi (golf cart). New owners have also reconfigured second floor so that there are up to four bedrooms, 3 baths that can be adjoining with kitchen/living space with nice patio…very reasonably priced with $15 for the week of every other day maid service. Extra towels were available if needed before maid day. Pool towels were available in the rooms so you do not need to bring them. We did not have an issue with bugs…no need for anything but casual clothes.
Staff and owners helpful with recommendations on restaurants with three convenient stores within half a block. We did have to buy ice and beverages at convenient stores and found liquor about 20%cheaper at the airport. We did go on snorkeling trip which was great one day but otherwise just relaxed. Pool is small but serves its purpose to “dip” and cool down. Do not think you can go wrong with the Pura Vida…

Our suite was tastefully furnished and well equipped, even including an individual water cooler in the full kitchen. Nice touches abound, and though the place is not high luxury, we found it extremely comfortable and spacious. Eric was helpful and friendly; he picked us up at the dock on arrival and took us back when we left. A small dipping pool compensates for the lack of beaches south of the split. Location is central and within easy walking distance of all restaurants and tour company offices. Highly recommended.

We stayed 3 nights at Pura Vida Inn in Caye Caulker at the end of August 2022. We arrived by Ferry from Belize City after tons of activities and exploring. (The boat was packed and highly recommend to take a plane.) Anyway, it is situated waterfront and actually quiet as most of the traffic (foot and golf carts) happens one street inland. We preferred this location which is little further away from the Split, but very close to the higher rated eateries. We stayed in Room 1, which is on the first floor and closest to the beach. Room is very spacious and clean with a full size kitchen and living room. AC works very well, also. Many reviewers commented, but staff members are super friendly and helpful. Especially, Maria went above and beyond. We overpaid for the taxi one day. She actually contacted the driver and recovered the over charged portion for us! Also, we were looking for the yellow flamboyant tree, and she found a gentleman who was able to assist us. Also, not to forget to mention is Erick who took us to the Airport. I would've given 6 starts if I could!

We spent our 40th anniversary in Belize and spent the first 3 nights at Pura Vida. We had the Ocean front suite on the first level, the manatee suite. It was comfortable, well appointed, had a coffee pot with coffee and sugar included, a water cooler in the room, fridge, microwave. The bed was comfortable, the shower good (after we figured out which way was hot water). This island is laid back and has a slower vibe, with no cars. The staff was excellent and made great recommendations for sunset viewing and restaurants. This is not a luxury resort, but they have a wonderful beach front spot for viewing sunrises and they picked us up at the ferry dock and took us back so we didn’t have to lug our suitcases. We were very happy with our stay and would definitely come back. Thanks for a comfortable stay.

Every once in a while, life throws an unexpected surprise at you and that was the case for us at Pura Vida Inn during our stay at Caye Caulker. Eric was absolutely as nice and professional a person you’ll find during our check in process. The room we stayed was a very nice, pleasant upgrade from the night before at different location close by. All our needs were met and exceeded by the staff at Pura Vida. Bed was comfortable and room was spacious, warm and inviting. We were sad to leave but another even more pleasant surprise awaited us after leaving. Somehow, I forgot some very important documents and personal information upon leaving. Mary was relentless on tracking us down as she realized the importance of said documents. She arranged delivery of documents in very well sealed package and I received them in time for travel. We absolutely will return to Caye Caulker on our next trip back and Pura Vida inn will be our first option.. Do not overlook this location in your search. The ocean view from room is beautiful and the sunrises worth waking up for!

I am so glad we picked this place! We had a great stay. This hotel feels like you are staying at someone's home because YOU ARE. The expat owners, Carla and David, live on the 3rd floor and come by the pool and chat with guests every day. There were a couple of local employees, Eric and Mary, and we were on a first name basis with them immediately. They were de-facto concierges with all of the island information and hookups for everything. Eric gave me the keys to a bicycle lock and let us ride a couple of bikes all week. The rides on the golf cart to the ferry weren't necessary because it was only about a 5 minute walk but we took them anyway. It was such a nice touch. We traveled as a couple but will return in the future with the kids. I think I had forgotten what real hospitality felt like and these guys made it all look easy.

Our four day stay was very enjoyable. Our room was spacious and quiet. The have a water dispenser, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, TV. A couple of comments, they do not supply shampoo or conditioner so be sure to bring your own. The toilet takes 20 seconds to flush and is easily clogged. The fridge keeps beverages cold which I liked. The tap water is a little salty so we used the water from the dispenser to make coffee and brush our teeth. Plenty of places to sit and sip coffee in the morning overlooking the sea. The staff at Pure Vida were top notch and went out of their way to help us. They even met us at the ferry and gave us a lift to our room. Plenty of good restaurants nearby - be sure to try Steve's Grill. Great value for the money.

Lovely charming quiet Hotel and a perfect location
On the beach Mary and Eric keep the hotel immaculately clean. We stayed in the oceanview room which is like the other rooms on the main floor. They are one bedroom, granite kitchens, big showers and very clean. The hotel is very well run. It is right next-door from Magic Grill with a full restaurant and bar. The pool area is rather small but they have a large part of the beach across the street with lots of tables and swings to watch sunrise

Eric is there most of the time with Mary part of the time and they are both knowledgeable and helpful about anything you need while you stay there.
A big thank you to both of them for making our stay so wonderful! We hope to see you again soon!

I was recently in Caye Caulker, Belize for the opening of the Lobster season and to celebrate my birthday of July 4th. After much searching for a Hotel, I found Pura Vida Inn, located to the left of where the water taxi docked. It is on the beach with a cute little swimming pool right in front. Pura Vida turned out to be in a central area of the Caye with easy access to all the events that were happening on the Island that weekend. The Island was busy with folks enjoying all the festivities of the Lobster Feast and there were plenty to enjoy.

As I entered my Villa at Pura Vida, I immediately felt cozy, comfortable and at home, it was beautiful, clean and had all the necessary amenities. The staff was friendly and available. My stay with them was short but sweet, I felt safe and comfortable.

From the beginning of my contact with Eric from Pura Vida the follow up was on point, they made sure they reached out to me as the time for my trip to the Island was getting closer. They asked and offered to arrange transport from the Airport to the Island. I did not need to take them up on this as I had those arrangement already secured through family members who lives in Belize.

I recommend Pura Vida Inn to anyone visiting Caye Caulker, Belize as a place to stay and will myself be returning to them on my next visit down.

Caye Caulker, Belize is like no other place on earth. In one word, it’s the “vibe.” We stayed 10 days and the inn was Extraordinarily clean, safe, private…but most of all it is so welcoming. Eric and Mary are the best people and are so fun to talk to and took care of every need. The people of this place are kind and gracious. We have had the best service and felt the most gratitude than anywhere we have ever traveled. They took care of the transfer from the hotel to the water taxi, picked us up upon arrival to the island, and arranged everything for our return trip. Every restaurant recommendation they gave us was excellent. They called restaurants for us, dropped us off around town, made reservations for excursions, and checked on every single need. You can rent a golf cart, but we never needed it. The inn is located in a more quiet area of the island, which we loved. We had all the privacy we needed. I can’t say enough positive about our stay. It was perfect in every way. Be prepared for almost everyone you encounter on the streets to speak and welcome you to their island. Although we had some great meals, Roy’s Wish Willy’s and Sunset Pelican were our favorites!
