Sophie's Guest Rooms is a budget accommodation hotel right along the beachside near the popular swimming area. It offers amazing sunset views. Since it is close to the split it is in the prime area of the island. Right down the street from Terry's grill, around the corner from Wishwillys, Paradiso, Magandon, and Lazy Lizard.

This guest house is far enough away that you CAN get a good nights sleep, but also within a 5 minute walk of all the bars & restaurants. View was lovely from the rooms and bathrooms are clean. Only downside was it;s really hot here & there was only fans in the room but again, that's a small glitch.

Total of 4 or 5 guest rooms. Shared bathrooms were also fine to use. Each room had fans. About 10 minute walk from/to ferry dock and 2 minutes to lazy lizards afternoon bar. At the front of the guest house you pretty much have your own beach/lagoon. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Sophie's! After having an rather horrible night on the party side of the island we changed to this place and enjoyed some quiet days right at the beach next to the split. The location is perfect with everything nearby but minus all the noise and party from the Main Street. Monica took perfect care of us and made us feel welcome at all times! The rooms were clean and spacious and very affordable! The bbq on site came in handy for us. The only minus about this place is the missing kitchen area for some simple cooking. However with the bbq and plates, cutlery and glasses in each room we got by well. We would recommend booking online as they only have 5 rooms available. Thank you for having us!!

This place is great, specially if you are On a budget! Rooms are big, clean and confortable. The House has a lovely porch facing the beach. The beach in front of the guest house works almost as a private beach which is great because it can be a crowded island. Location is great, near Terry's Grill and Wish Willy, the best restaurants in the island! The owner is super helpfull. Really a cool place to stay!

We stayed here for 12 days and had a fantastic stay. The rooms are basic (beds, chair & table, fans & a sink) but are all you need in Caye Caulker. The guesthouse itself is small with only 5 rooms and the two ladies who run it are always friendly & willing to help, nothing is ever a hassle!! As we stayed there for 12 days we got to see the daily running of things & one thing we noticed was that the two ladies are always cleaning. Cleaning rooms, bathrooms, windows, raking the sand, mopping the balcony, washing, hence it always felt very clean & hygienic. As stated, the rooms are basic & nothing fancy but the location is epic! Located on the west side of the the Caye it has the perfect spot for to watch the sunset from the hammock or balcony, plus one of the most peaceful &

The room is a hole with a bed and a sink. It is so hot at night and the two fans are loud and don't do much, could not sleep in there! I would not recommend. On the big plus side - the price and the staff are wonderful. At the back of the island so the sunsets are beautiful and free coffee in the morning! And best part, clean but doesn't out way the non sleep.

Response from besophiesguest, Manager at Sophie's Guest Rooms

All I can say is that again am sorry that we were unable to refund your money, as our 48hr hour policy is in force due to high demand on our rooms. I do recommend on your next visit to pay for AC rooms, as the heat is beyond our control. Dont understand the bad intentions!

It's the kind of accommodation you are looking for when you spend a few days on an island. The room was simple, with a fan and shared bathroom. It was very clean. We had a nice little pier for ourselves and mainly to enjoy the sunset. The hostel is located on the quiet side of the island.

Had a lovely stay at Sophie's. Really like that the rooms are spacious, with clean sheets and towels. The rooms are cleaned everyday. There were two large powerful fans that kept you cool and kept mozzies away. The bathroom is outside, so you do have to get used to going out to use them. But they were clean and the showers had hot water. There is a nice backyard area with table and chairs, hammocks, and even a coal BBQ. Great place to sit and watch the sunset! Sophie's almost has it's own private beach and the angle is perfect for the sunset. It is close to the split but far away enough you don't have noise from the bars. The rooms were secure with locks and bolts and even a small drawer to further lock away your valuables. I would recommend to everyone for the price!

This hostel is adorable. It's nestled on the mangrove side of the island just around the bend of the split, which makes it convenient but also quiet. Beautiful view right on the water and a great porch with hammocks. Room was nice with towels and a table with chairs, basic kitchen equipment. Sinks in the room with hand soap and dish soap. Two full baths for five rooms, we never had to wait. We also got fresh towels during our stay. The women who run this place are lovely, I would go back just to see them again!

This guest room is in such a perfect location near enough to the hub of caye caulker and the lazy lizard but perfectly quiet and peaceful with sunset views! Excellent value for a private room, we stayed here for 3 nights and Monica really looked after us. Best value in Belize!
