Sophie's Guest Rooms is a budget accommodation hotel right along the beachside near the popular swimming area. It offers amazing sunset views. Since it is close to the split it is in the prime area of the island. Right down the street from Terry's grill, around the corner from Wishwillys, Paradiso, Magandon, and Lazy Lizard.

Rooms are very basic but immaculately clean - a real luxury for the price range! Raoul is a very friendly and helpful host. It is located in the best part of the island, right on the waterfront and with a sunset view, as well as being far enough away from the centre of town to get a good night's sleep. Highly recommended!

You don't get much but the room is clean (and cleaned every day) and the bed is comfortable. If you listen carefully you can hear the sea while laying in your bed. If you want more than that then you have to pay more.

Loved our stay so much here, was sad to leave! The staff was amazing, so welcoming and cared a lot about our stay.
The location is the best on the island, very quiet in the mornings, beach all to yourself with free coffee.... Then perfect place to watch the sunset and relax in the hammocks. Seriously couldn't recommend this place enough. Thank you!!!

Sophie's Guest house is a simple yet perfect place on the water. There's 5 rooms that share two showers/toilets. The rooms don't have much, but it's very relaxing. You have a great view of the ocean just outside your bedroom. I really enjoyed staying here!

This is a no frills guest room and a great value. Rooms are simple and spacious. Staff is very friendly. The bathroom is shared (you have to step outside and walk down the stairs to it). Caye Caulker doesn't have much for beaches, but right next to the guest house (like, 30 steps), is a nice spot to hop in the water and cool off. I'd stay here again for sure

We enjoyed our stay at Sophie's very much. Our room was great (the rooms are renovated) and very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are shared, but they were cleaned multiple times a day.
To get to the main area of the island it's a couple of minutes walk, but this is an advantage, because the hostel is quiet and the only thing you hear at night is the sea.

Excellent location - right next to the busy Split and Front Street, but far enough away to be nice and quiet.
There aren't really beaches on Caye Caulker, but Sophie's is right on the crystal clear water and had a pier that people could use, as well as some little rafts to float on.
The place is small - only 5 or 6 rooms I think - so book in advance. We saw tons of people looking for rooms that got turned away and had to go to lesser accommodations like Dirty McNasty's (really?) hostel.
The staff was very helpful and attentive. They helped us find good places to eat and things to do. Guests can use the hammocks, picnic tables, refrigerator and grill. The office also has cold, purified water for guests which was very refreshing after a long day of kayaking.
Make sure you pay cash up front. They didn't take credit card.
We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

The staff was very sweet, but after one night myself and my two friends all woke up covered in bites from bedbugs. We moved, but we were so itchy for the next week we could barely sleep and it really put a damper on our holiday.
In terms of having to move, We didn't have a reservation, so it wasn't an issue, and we found that there was much better value to be found elsewhere. Thinking we were helping them out by letting them know they have an issue with bedbugs, we alerted them to this by email. I don't know if they mistakenly thought we wanted our money back, or what, but we got an extremely rude, highly offensive email back from management.

Please check that you have the correct hotel, as I am the owner of this hotel, and was there staying for a month, returning from Belize on April 15th. You stated you stayed there in the month of April, yet all my guest bookings stayed there nights booked without any complaints or having to leave before time. I would be more than happy if you can provide me with your email that you claimed you sent to me along with my response. I certainly never got any email alerting me of such incident, and definitely would know if I had responded to such email. I NOT HAVE BEDBUGS, as you can see by all my other reviews not one of my guest have stated so. All my bookings are done solely on line,and I would have record of your stay. Please provide me with your booking information and I would be more than happy to compensate you for your discomfort as you have stated.

My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights and we couldn't fault the location on the nicest bit of beach on the whole island with a stunning view yet only a few minutes walk to the main street and even closer to the Split. The twin room was more than adequate with 2 fans, a fridge, safe and a washbasin. The WCs and showers were kept very clean and we loved the hammocks on the veranda. Only thing that would have been nice would be a cushion for the wooden loungers

There were no safes. We just used locks on our luggage (traveled with one carry on or back pack each as a family) and everything was just fine. Absolutely fabulous place to stay!
