We stayed at Barefoot Beach for one week after the holidays, and it did not disappoint! Susan (the owner) was very responsive leading up to our stay and arranged transportation for us from the Belize airport (BZE) to the water taxi that would take us to Caye Caulker. Upon arrival, our bungalow was clean and comfortable with the COVID-19 safety protocols taken. During our stay, Susan and her staff were so attentive, friendly and helpful with anything we needed (towels, new sheets, etc.). There is a picnic area and bar on the property for hotel guests which was super convenient and a great place to hang out and mingle (distantly of course!). The property is also beachfront and has chairs and a dock that you can lay out on if you please. There are bikes available for free that you can ride into the main part of town or you can walk there as the island is very tiny. Overall, we loved our time here and would stay again!

We sure enjoyed the two nights we stayed at this property. There are various choices of accommodation available to fit most budgets. The place was super clean. The staff is efficient, extremely friendly and goes out of their way to make your stay great. We spent our first night in one of the Cabanas, which was fantastic, then spent the 2nd night in the two bedroom house which has a fantastic veranda that overlooks the beautiful beach with view of the reef!
The house was super nice and spacious and has two bedrooms and even more space to sleep in the main room. This would make a fantastic choice for a family who wanted a great comfortable, secure accommodation on the island. There is a clean groomed sandy area on the water and a lovely dock to hang out on, with water access for anyone who wants to swim. Oh yes, and if that was not enough two bicycles were included in our rental. Highly recommended.

Barefoot beach is in a great, quiet location right on the water with free access to bikes to get you from one side of the island to the other. Rooms are very basic but clean with a/c and decent wifi. Overall great value for money, just missing the full five stars over small, simple things such as no hand soap in the bathroom, only one roll of toilet roll, no hot water in the shower, nowhere to hang your clothes up.

Sorry about that. We ask guests to ask for anything they need...it is listed right on the bed. We can not do daily services due to covid and gold standard rules.

Barefoot Beach Hotel was a great deal. It’s a little far south but RIGHT on the sea with a beautiful beach and pier, and bikes are complimentary for your trip - we actually preferred biking to being on the main drag and walking everywhere! You can bike pretty leisurely from the Split to Barefoot Beach Hotel in 10 minutes. Susan was a fantastic hostess and we felt safe and well cared for here.

If you are looking for something super fancy, this isn't your place. If you want a great island stay, Barefoot is perfect. My room was super CLEAN, huge comfortable bed, full kitchen. I travel with my small dog often, and it was nice that they accept pets. My view was incredible, their is a private area with lounge chairs, a place to swim, a palapa to get shade. What more can you ask for. You are provided bikes... I travel to Caye Caulker often and this will become my go to spot for years to come. I stayed in the Ocean Front Suite and also a side view suite. Water is provided, towels, beach towels and a fridge to keep your Belekin's nice and cold. Most of the island was without water, but Barefoot Beach had it!

Stayed in unit #7, adorable, clean, great location. It came with two bikes, mini kitchen and full bathroom. The only comment I have is the bed really needs either a topper or replacement. You bottom out when you sit, roll over. There were a few pokey springs to be had and I'm glad it wasn't a romantic trip, I can't imagine business time on that bed. The staff were great, the location perfect, quiet, private, right on the ocean with a covered dock and lounge chairs on the pier. The pool is small, but a great non smelly (sea grass-no one's fault, just a thing that happens) swim option. It was nice as it was out of the sun by late afternoon and sometimes you just need a break from the sun. It was insanely affordable and the lil cabins are adorable. My friend was in one and it was great, clean full bathroom.

I love this place!! The rooms are clean. Staff is great. There is an endless supply of fresh, cold water and I loved having a bicycle to use for my four night stay. Location is close enough to enjoy restaurants, far enough away from the action to be really peaceful. I’ve been coming to Caye Caulker a few times a year for over 10 years. This is the very best value I’ve seen. I will be back!!!

I stayed 3 nights in the parrot perch room. I chose the room because of the view ad also more space. Note this trip was to unwind from manic NYC and I chose to come here first to decompress. I wanted no fuss, and limited everything form contact to people and surroundings.

Customer Service: 5/5
The resort manager - bugs is amazing. Responsive, helpful, and laid back. I came during covid (May 2021) and the island itself was really vigilant. The residence at the time not so much. I also became a little relaxed with the rules.

Comfort: 3/5
Room was spacious. Furniture dated. Very Clean. Comfortable bed. Limited utilities. Located away from the center and the bicycles they provide is definitely a help. 8 min cycle into town.

Value: 4/5
This was off-season for them so the price was good. I wanted privacy and have space, but there were smaller huts for half the price.

Barefoot Beach was recommended by a friend and we are very thankful that she did. This casual resort is private and boasts a great location--a quieter part of the island, but a 3 minute bike ride to the action. The staff BEND of backwards to make you stay memorable! You are able to swim off of the dock, jump in the pool, or relax in the sun. We highly recommend vacationing here.

Super cute spot on the beach and an ideal location — an easy walk to town but out enough to be quiet. There’s a covered dock perfect for reading or jumping in for a swim. We stayed at Barefoot soon after Belize reopened to tourists. The owner, Susan, arranged tours for guests even when most places were closed. She was easily accessible for extra water, towels, and anything we needed. And when she found out we were planning to build a home on Caye Caulker, she called around to check out builders we were considering. How’s that for full service! It felt like staying with family.

We have cameras, I live on site and check my property, we have burglar bars and double locks on all doors, we do not allow anyone except registered guests on the property. We also speak with our guests to make them aware. Major crimes are non-existent on the Caye....theft is our main issue. So common sense and no issue!
