Iguana Reef Inn is located on the water's edge, in a secluded location in the heart of a charming village. The Inn offers decidedly upscale accommodations and the enchantment of the "Old Caribbean" island lifestyle. Relax on the verandah of one of the Inn's richly textured rooms or poolside and settle into the unhurried pace of the island. The Inn's ideal location is just minutes away from the restaurants and night spots on Caye Caulker.

We sadly did not get to stay here this year. COVID RUINED our plans. I will say that the amazing staff at the Iguana Reef Inn helped transfer our stay first from April to November then helped us cancle due to our delta flights being cancled. The staff was very helpful, friendly and full knowledge. Hopefully in 2022 we will be able to return and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere but at the Iguana Reef Inn purely by the way I was treated and the service they provided.

My husband, daughter and I stayed here for three nights before heading to Ambergris. We had done a day trip to Caye Caulker twenty years previous and were glad to see it still had that wonderful laid back charm it had then. Iguana Reef was a fabulous stay. We had the Penthouse with views to die for. The apartment was exceptionally comfortable and suited us just fine. The grounds of the hotel are lovely with plenty of places to sit. This side of Caye Caulker lacks all of the huge issues the seaside has with the sargassum. While it can be warmer on this side, due to less wind, we were more than glad to be on this side. Rose makes the best Pina colada ever and the food delivered in was always very pleasing. Darwin was super great and we were very happy to hear from him that Eric had really looked after his employees during the shutdown-kudos to him. Yes tours come to look at the seahorses but it was of no bother to us. Yes locals come and hang out at the beach, if you want ultra exclusivity then book a stay on a private island getaway. The stingrays and tarpon are cool. My husband caught bonefish right from the dock! We would return in a minute! And Stop by the local dog shelter nearby and say hi to the pups and give them a donation while you are at it.

I just returned home from staying at the Iguana Reef Inn and it was wonderful from start to finish. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful. There were unexpected and wonderful surprises, such as being able to feed wild sting rays daily. There were pelicans, sea horses!, sharks, etc, all right there to enjoy. I thought the landscaping was stunning - luscious palms & flowers everywhere! I loved the vibe in the evenings at the beachside bar, the lights on the palm trees, and the beautiful maintained beach with sand that was raked every single morning.
I loved the L’Occitane body wash, shampoo & conditioner in the bathroom. The internet was great (did some work while I was there). The size of my room was ideal - felt like an apartment!
I can’t wait to go back!

We planned a girls trip with a few ladies and stayed at Iguana Reef. I had the best night sleep ever at Iguana Reef! The beds were so very comfortable and the pillows they have are something from heaven! Our group enjoyed the beach atmosphere, and the seahorses, stingray and sunset viewing, but we also enjoyed spending time relaxing in the rooms because they were so comfortable! The staff was always helpful and friendly with anything we needed. The buildings and grounds are very well maintained with an abundance of flora brought in to give the place a lovely tropical vibe. We will definitely return, and would recommend to anyone!

Iguana Reef is the perfect place to stay for a getaway to Caye Caulker. The rooms are clean and spacious, the grounds are beautiful, and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is great. Not only is the hotel itself great, the grounds and the beach bar are one of the top places on the island. People from all over the island will come to the beach of Iguana Reef due to the great amenities. While the beach was not inclusive to hotel guests, it was never crowded and always had plenty of beach chairs. Iguana Reef is also one of the best places on the island to watch the sunset. Being able to stay at one of the top places on the island was very convenient, but hotel was still small and quaint so it never felt like a tourist hotspot. The overall location was also great, and is just a short walk to everything.

I stayed here February 2020 and it was incredible!! This hotel honestly exceeded all my expectations that were already so high! My room was so clean and the bed/pillows were some of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. The staff was always very helpful and friendly too. Word around Caye Caulker is that the Iguana Reef Inn is the best place to catch the sunset and it is SO right. At night during sunset they feed the pelicans which was so fun to watch! Then they also feed several sting rays and sharks that live around the hotel’s dock! Another main attraction this place has is the seahorse sanctuary. The beach was great. Very clean and has a beachside bar with some of the lowest prices on the island. There is food all around the hotel but the closest place is called the Pelican. The food was incredible and right next door to the hotel. The Iguana Reef Inn is definitely a little hidden gem on the island and I will absolutely be staying here every time I come back to Caye Caulker!

It's unclear whether we would have preferred another hotel on Caye Caulker, but we were underwhelmed by Iguana Reef.
First, some positives. The location is perfect, with a beautiful beach to swim and watch the sunset. The beds were comfortable and our room was spacious, and we appreciated the mini-fridge to store fresh fruit juices for cocktails. Importantly, the A/C kept our room cool no matter how hot it was outside. We only interacted with staff briefly, but they were kind and helpful. A small item in our room was thrown out by housekeeping by mistake, and Charlene quickly and generously retrieved it for us.
We may have been spoiled by our other experiences in Belize, but there were some aspects of Iguana Reef that I wish we had known about before booking. As others have mentioned, the walls and floors are thin – we heard guests banging around loudly upstairs throughout our trip. The pool is very small, and it's a stretch to describe any part of it as a "lazy river." There weren't enough hooks in the bathroom to hold each of our towels, so we needed to use a hanger on the shower curtain rod. The resort also feeds marine animals off its dock in order to attract them, which disturbs the ecosystem and is a practice that more environmentally-conscious businesses on the island have stopped engaging in.
Based on the price and marketing we expected more from Iguana Reef, but we still enjoyed our stay and loved our time on Caye Caulker.

Eric and staff made this the coolest stay ever!
The Iguana Reef Inn welcomes you in to a tropical paradise with pristine landscaping complete with a gorgeous pool, stunning grounds, and cabana. The rooms are extremely clean and spacious and the staff does cool things daily to enhance your stay!
The private beach is perfect and offers stunning sunsets, awesome drinks, paddle boards, stingray feedings, sea horses, shark feedings, pelicans, frigates, ocean swings, hammocks, and so much more. Head over to the bar where you will be kindly greeted by Robert and Rose where they will make you the best mojito pina coladas to accompany some of the most gorgeous sunsets ever seen!
This was our first trip to Caye Caulker and the Iguana Reef Inn and couldn’t be more impressed. As we sit here at the airport to head home, I have to admit we’re slightly depressed and we’re already dreaming of our next visit! Eric and crew we cannot thank you enough and look forward to seeing you again soon!

The Iguana Reef Inn is perfectly located, near everything to do in Caye Caulker. Our room was immaculate, A/C and wifi worked great. Security overnight made us feel as ease, especially as two female travelers in a new place. Amazing amenities- beach and pool are gorgeous! This is one of the most beautiful beaches and places to relax on the island, drinks at the beach bar are also very reasonably priced. You can tell the owner is very involved in creating a special place for his guests. Would absolutely stay again and hope to come back!! Book- you won't regret it!!

My fiance and I were staying at an AirBnB on Caye Caulker, and after talking with another friendly tourist/guest at Iguana Inn, we quickly decided to pack up and move to Iguana Reef. Other tourists on the island who stumbled across the property immediately wanted to change their locations as well! Iguana Reef is perfectly located and the rooms have A/C and good wifi. You've got the calm western winds on this side of the island which is perfect for relaxing with a nice cocktail in your hand. They provide paddle boards, hammocks, swings in the water, a beachfront bar, a pool, and plenty to see. Step outside your room and you'll find stingrays, seahorses, tarpon, and other amazing sea life. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the property is kept pristine. We felt extremely safe given we are two female travelers. If you need assistance or recommendations for things to do, the owner and staff are always around to assist. We felt like we were staying in a luxury resort for an extremely reasonable price, and I truly can't imagine our vacation without Iguana Reef. Try the ghost pepper margarita if you heat! We will definitely be back thanks to the care the owner puts into Iguana Reef. Absolutely LOVED our stay in every way!

Hello,
We get purified water from Bowen and Bowen, Our main supplier of beverages. Most stores sell their purified water in different sizes. We have the purified water at the beach bar and also in the room's mini-bar for sale if you wish to purchase them.
Not really “private”.
Iguana Reef Inn is located in the heart of Caye Caulker. A walking distance from the Water taxi. 10 -15 minute walk from the airport but it can be accessed by grabbing a golf cart taxi which is very economic.
Iguana Reef Inn has a nice clean beach that is normally used for some sun tanning, pelican feeding, sunset watching and beach combing and lastly some swimming.
The rooms are clean and spacious.
There are groceries stores and liquor stores in every corner in Caye Caulker. They all close by 11pm.
