We came here on short notice and were lucky to find rooms available at Spring Break. This is a brand new property unlike most of the older hotels on Caye Caulker. The north end of the Caye is starting to develop, is much quieter, and is only a short boat ride from the Split or center of town.
The individual cabanas are very spacious and have comfy double or king beds. The rooms are nicely furnished and have a TV (cable service is limited). The bathroom has a large shower and we were provided with lots of fluffy towels and toiletries.
The food in the restaurant was consistently very good, from the large breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The salads were super fresh and the chicken nachos better than you will find elsewhere. The desserts are great and there is room service Our server in the restaurant, Josh, got to know our preferences and remembered just how I like my ice tea each day and that the kids didn't like peppers on their food. He also had ice delivered to our room without being asked.
Service in general was the best. From the nice guy at the front desk to Christine Lynn, both of whom helped arrange day trips, massage, Covid tests. Chris had extra towels delivered to our room when she heard we were going snorkeling and arrange for our checkout and travel to the airport at the awful hour of 5 AM.
A big thank you to Eddie who picked us up at the ferry pier and took us on the hotel boat to and from the center of Caye Caulker a couple of times a day. And to the others who checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed.
There were no refrigerators in the rooms (maybe in the future) but ice was always available from the bar. There is currently no beach so some additional shaded areas with lounge chairs would be a nice touch. Highly recommend this place for the peaceful atmosphere and excellent service.

I had the most amazing time at El Ben Cabañas in Caye Caulker, Belize. Getting to the hotel was a breeze thanks to the regular taxi boat service that picked us up every hour. The check-in process was simple, and as soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the beauty of the well-kept grounds with soft white sand and lush green plants. The welcome drinks were a nice touch, and the staff were so friendly and helpful in explaining how to get around the island.

The rooms were spotlessly clean and so cozy, providing a peaceful and quiet place to relax. I absolutely loved spending time by the two pools with a refreshing drink from the bar. The restaurant served up delicious meals, and the chef's attention to detail made every dish perfect. I had a blast at the hotel's events, like the tasty sushi night and the fun full moon and wine party.

The staff at El Ben Cabañas were incredibly kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed during our stay. I have to give a special shoutout to Mr. Papi, the boatman, who went out of his way to take care of us. From helping with our bags to guiding us through the ferry lines back to Belize City, he made sure we were well looked after every step of the way. Don't forget to show your appreciation with a tip for the outstanding service, especially from Mr. Papi.

My stay at El Ben Hotel in Cayo Caulker was fantastic.
The staff was welcoming, the rooms were clean and comfortable with stunning ocean views, and the location was perfect.
The restaurant offers great prices and even the hotel provides a boat service that picks you up from the water taxi terminal.
I highly recommend El Ben for an unforgettable experience

This place is on the north side of Caye caulker which nothing is happening. There are only a very few restaurants and hard to get too.
It’s full of mosquitos, it was horrible.
We were supposed
To stay for 5 days and moved to Iguana Reef inn for 3 nights .
You have to pay to use their bike which is crazy. Their boat are free but you have to request 30
Minutes before and sometime you have to
Wait for 1.5 hours.
The other option is to
Go
To the Split by golf cart and take a boat there.
We booked ocean front cabanas and was so disappointed to find out there’s no beach in this property.
You have to ask the hotel
If you want your room to be cleaned, who
Doesn’t want a clean room? So before our activities of the day I requested a room cleaning.
We came back so tired from
Our excursions only to find a dirty room. We went to
Dinner at the restaurant and the food
Was aweful. My pasta was flooded with aweful sauce and there are probably only 7-8 string of
Pasta in it. My son’s was the same.
We left and went to the South Island to eat .
To make matters worse worst, the AC broke down. They were able to get us to another room that is not ocean front at around 1030pm.
The next day I found another hotel
On the south side till our other hotel is ready.
I find this hotel is very poorly run and has low quality standard.
Tyra was very nice, I find the others aren’t doing their job.
This was an aweful experience in a bad resort.

First, the owner actually greeted us and she was so sweet and wanted to make sure we had everything. New cottages and had EVERYTHING you could want including luxury amenities. They will pick you up by their boat and transport you to the village in Caye Caulker no problem (please tip them) - they didn't ask and barely anyone did.
ALL the staff went out of their way to insure all the guests were happy. They made our experience over the top. Even on Christmas we were all doing Karaoke including the owner and her family. Grounds and entire property spotless. Would definitely stay there again. It was away from all the noise, etc. from the village side of Caye Caulker, which we enjoyed.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at El Ben. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They had a ton of recommendations for us. Dorado even bolted to drive us to a sunset spot one night and showed us the alligators. And Haroldo took such good care of us!
The cabanas are big and spacious. The bed was very comfy and the wifi is very strong all throughout the property. The place is well taken care of, clean and beautiful.
Having access to the 2 pools was also great, as it was very hot when we were there.
Also, it was great that they offered a water taxi service, so you can go between the islands without a problem!
We loved our time at El Ben Cabanas, and highly recommend them for any visit to Caye Caulker.

My family of 11 stayed at El Ben from 2/18-2/25 and had an incredible experience. The property is immaculate, the staff was so attentive and accommodating, they truly made our stay the family trip of a lifetime. They coordinated transportation, helped us book excursions (sunset cruise, diving, fishing) and also helped us make dinner reservations at neighboring restaurants (although the food was so delicious at the T&T Bar & Grill that we rarely left). They provided golf cart transportation for those in our party who needed a little extra help when a destination was too far to walk. The rooms were very clean and beautiful, and we enjoyed quite a bit of pool time as well. I highly recommend El Ben if you are considering staying on Caye Caulker.

We hit the jackpot with El Ben! Our cabana is a 2022 sparkling clean and comfortable ocean front thatched roof happy place. The staff is friendly and solicitous and genuinely concerned for our well being and fun, adept arranging activities from snorkeling to sunset cruising or visits to the nature preserve. The on-site restaurant is an added delight. Breakfast includes everything from yogurt and fruit to huevos or omelettes. Dinner ranks with any fine dining we've had worldwide. Chef Hilda is a creative culinary artisan happy to visit our table and tell us how she loves her work, cooking and caring for her customers. Every dinner entree was beautifully presented, well-prepared and fresh from the sea, Chef Hilda is currently the only female finalist on a nationwide cooking competition. We think she'll win first place!

El Ben Cabañas on Caye Caulker provided an absolutely incredible experience! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring everything was perfect throughout our stay. The cabanas themselves are stunning—well-maintained, beautifully designed, and exuding a cozy, relaxing vibe. The pool is a standout feature, adding a special touch to the whole experience, especially with the breathtaking seaview just steps away. If you're looking for a serene getaway with top-notch amenities and impeccable service, I highly recommend El Ben Cabañas!

Just perfect. The most relaxing vacation we’ve ever had! El Ben is quiet, beautiful, friendly, luxurious, welcoming and warm, and truly paradise. The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable, and quiet-with all of the familiar amenities from home. The restaurant was incredible EVERY TIME! So much so, we ended up eating most of our meals there. The property is full of soft light by night and tropical plants and flowers by day-we even saw hummingbirds!

A tropical paradise for sure, but El Ben’s staff is truly where they shine. Everyone is warm, welcoming, friendly, and genuinely invested in your vacation experience.

It’s hard to fit everything into a quick review but, without us lifting a finger or really asking more than a simple “can you tell me about…” it was simply done! No muss, no fuss: a no-problem approach to our botched reservations (completely our fault!), last minute water taxis, golf cart transportation to watch incredible sunsets, great conversation and bar samplings with the owner and restaurant staff, bicycle rides to see the local flora and fauna, a staff member (Antonio) even spent an afternoon touring us around Caye Caulker, arranging private fishing charters and then an unforgettable dinner with our fresh catch joined by our captain and mate, etc!
Bottom line: our vacation with El Ben was incredible and we are truly counting down the days until we can return!
