This is an attractive hotel located in walking distance from all of the key spots in Caye Caulker. Our room was enormous, with two beds and room for dancing. The outdoor dining room on the top floor affords wonderful views and good breezes while dining. Unfortunately, the island as a whole was experiencing a water crisis while we were there, and there was often no water for showering or flushing. While this was an island-wide problem, the hotel could have done a better job of keeping guests informed of what was going on and when and how water would be available. Also, clean sheets were left for beds but the beds tended not to be made up. Only one fan (of two) seemed to be working and replacement of towels was inconsistent. How much of this was a side effect of the attention demanded by the water crisis is hard to know. But it was clear that staff were not any happier about the water problem than were guests.

Good, clean and spacious rooms. No frills hotel though and fairly basic, but has everything you need. Staff really friendly and happy to help. Good location - 5min walk to the Split. They also picked me up from the airport for no extra fee. The restaurant on the roof served really tasty food although it’s very windy up there.

Super friendly and accommodating staff during our whole stay! Unfortunately we missed the last ferry over to the island for our first night, but after letting them know, and since they were able to book someone else in, they even refunded us for the night we missed! Not something many places would do in my experience! Great location, super clean rooms, and nice pool and fire pit area. Our housekeeper was very attentive and kindly brought us an extra blanket after noticing I had taken the sheet off the other bed to try and survive the insanely cold AC my boyfriend likes to sleep in. They also offer complimentary use of paddle boards and kayaks too! Only down side for us was the extremely hard beds and lack of hot water throughout our stay. Otherwise was a really nice place that felt very safe.

I can't say enough about the service, led by manager Ken. Smiles and warm greetings from everyone and they diligently work to keep everyone happy and everything so clean! Early on, my son wanted to go in the pool and I admit wondering how yucky that might be, but those worries quickly faded when I saw them cleaning it twice that day! I've seen them raking the sand and washing down the outdoor wood furniture... they have implemented really good protocols for keeping everything clean and safe. Very well done.

Our room is really large! It is a corner unit with a private balcony, 2 queen beds (very firm. Took me a night to get used to it, but very supportive and comfortable after that), private bathroom with shower, A/C and a small fridge. There's also a TV which we didn't use, although if that is important to you then be advised that it is in an odd location given where the beds are. WiFi throughout the property is excellent! I did have some in-room wifi issues because of a router that went offline after a thunderstorm, but Ken was on it quickly.

The pool is on the small side, but so refreshing after a day in the Belizean sun! There is a fire pit every night and hammocks to relax in, kayaks to borrow and bikes to rent, and a rooftop bar that just opened up with amazing views and more terrific service! It opened on our last night and we already had dinner plans, so I can't comment on the food. The menu SEEMED a bit on the pricy side for food, but given the rest of the hotel, I suspect it is good value. The bartender makes a great Lizard Juice ;) and they have a well priced Happy Hour selection I think from 5:00 to 7:00.

I learned that this hotel is under new ownership and management from about a year ago, so be careful with older reviews. The service here can't be faulted as it is now. The hotel itself is what I would call on the higher end while still being a budget hotel. Great value. You do have to manage expectations though because one could be disappointed if they are used to 5* luxury resorts. There are a few rough edges but then that's Caye Caulker too, right :)

Very pleased.

We stayed at La Isla for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. Make sure you stay in a room in the 4-story building in the front for a beach/oceanfront view instead of behind the pool. At the top of the building is a wonderful rooftop bar, with a view of the whole island. The pool is nice, clean, and warm. There’s even a sweet little kitty who roams the resort grounds.

What really makes the resort is the people who run it. The staff is so accommodating and loving, we felt as though we had been surrounded by friends the whole time. We love you Marta, Daisy, Angie, Yasmira, Philip, Francisco, and everyone else!

Make sure you go out to the Barrier Reef with StarTours, affiliated with the hotel, by booking it at the front desk. It’s a great experience for a great price!

La Isla Resort was the perfect place to stay while visiting Caye Caulker. Not only did it provide the perfect island setting, with a private beach, balconies, and easy access to everything on the island, but the customer service was above and beyond.

I realized just how accommodating and hospitable the property is when, near the end of my trip I unfortunately had a positive COVID test. Ken and his staff jumped into action - needless to say I was stressed about the idea of a mandatory hotel quarantine. They safely set me up with a private room for quarantine at a very reasonable rate, and provided me with top quality service during my stay, checking in on my well being daily through WhatsApp communication, and providing whatever I needed, including wonderful food recommendations and deliveries (Chef Juan's for the win!).

Not only did they make sure that I was comfortable and safe, but they were able to do so while giving the highest respect and consideration to the safety and well being of the other guests at the property. My panic quickly turned into relaxation and peace, as they provided me with everything I needed during my unexpected prolonged stay.

This was my first time traveling since the pandemic, and it was wonderful to see the dedication to providing a truly relaxing and blissful experience, while also providing top notch safety measures for each of their guests.

Ken and each member of his staff were truly incredible and I will never forget my stay at La Isla Resort. Thank you!

Caye Caulker stole our hearts!!! The people of this island are a tonic of pure happiness and peace. Never have I met so many friendly people all on one island. As soon as you arrive you feel the chilled vibe and straightaway understand the island's moto ‘GO SLOW’.
We were lucky enough to stay at La Isla resort, a beautifully restored hotel in the heart of Caye Caulker. Fantastic hotel with private beach access, pool, spacious bedrooms (with AC) and stunning sea views. This hotel is the perfect retreat for staying in Caye Caulker, location is great for ferry access, restaurants, chilled bars and beach parties. The hotel feels private even though you are in the heart of the island. The attention to detail around the hotel was delightful and elegant. We had a lovely night by the open fire pit in the “Take it Easy Zone” and you also have free access to the kayaks- great to explore the island and experience sunsets. The staff are excellent and cater to your every need. Ken the manager is the most gracious host and will make your stay a truly special and unique experience. There will also be a rooftop restaurant opening soon! Can’t recommend this place more highly!

If you’re looking for a nice, clean, comfortable place that is centrally located with sea views, beach access, aaaand outstanding customer service, look no further! La Isla Resort is the perfect place to stay while visiting Caye Caulker! It recently reopened with a fresh makeover and under new ownership. It’s clear that they take great pride in the appearance of the resort as well as the quality of customer service and the guest experience. The buildings and the grounds are well maintained, including the beachfront area. The resort offers a good selection of room types to choose from to fit a variety of needs and budgets (the suites are beautiful and definitely worth the upgrade if you are looking for something more spacious!) It’s perfectly situated in the center of town, directly in front of the Caribbean sea with a small private beach and dock. There is also a pool, a firepit and free use of kayaks and paddleboards. In addition, the resort is in the process of adding an onsite spa, tour company and rooftop restaurant! I was really impressed with the attention to detail including the WhatsApp message I received after checking in which provided useful information such as Wi-Fi codes, pool times, etc and a convenient way to communicate with the staff if I had any questions or concerns.

I’ve stayed at a number of different hotels on the island over the past few years and La Isla Resort definitely stands out from the rest. Everyone that I interacted with was so friendly, attentive and helpful. I can’t say enough good things about this place and the team that runs it! I love to support locally owned businesses that offer great service, nice amenities, and are well run. This is my new go to spot for future trips to Caye Caulker! If you are considering staying here, do it! You won’t be disappointed :)

Please stop looking, you have found the best place to stay in Caye Caulker: the La Isla Resort

The resort is an amazing place to stay based on 3 key reasons:

1) Location: It is less than 100m (~300 ft) away from the ferry drop-off point and is perfectly situated on the main road right at the (private!) beach

2) Property and facilities: the buildings and pool are incredibly well maintained and look good as new. The resort has its own piece of private beach and pier where boats could dock (great for post activity drop-offs such as snorkeling). Rooms are spacious and clean, even the more budget focused rooms are already great. But what we thought was very special is that the resort offers complementary paddle board and kayaks that you can take out for several hours. We watched beautiful sunset at the Split which was unforgettable. Lastly, the resort lights a massive bonfire with comfortable seats around it which creates an amazing atmosphere.

3) Staff: The staff is super friendly and really treats you like their first priority. One person I’d like to call out is Ken, the manager of the resort. Never have I ever met someone who is so engaged with the guests. I’d go back to La Isla just to give Ken a big high five, thank you for making La Isla and Caye Caulker feel like home!

Absolute 10/10 recommendation. I’ll be back at La Isla for sure :).

We visit Caye Caulker every year in February and multiple years We have stayed at La Isla. The staff there is wonderful and is a big part of the reason why we return each year.

The location is one of the best on the island. You will find yourself centrally located within walking distance of dozens of restaurants and not far from the water taxi. The hotel has a lovely courtyard with a nice pool and pool deck and every evening in the courtyard they host the bonfire. Just across the small street is the private beach and dock. There are kayaks and paddle boards available as well as thick cushions to put on the lounge chairs at the beach has an added bonus. The staff will carry all those things to the beach for you.

The pricing on the rooms is very fair, and the resort has a variety of room options. They have about 50% of the rooms that as an American I would consider a typical Belizean hotel room the rooms are simple and very functional, not fancy. The other 50% of the rooms are more upscale for a Belize experience, many of these rooms are suites, or have a kitchenette. The pictures that they offer on their website are very good guidelines as to what you would expect in your room when you arrive.

Enjoy your time in Caye Caulker!
