Detailed Reviews
We chose this hotel due to it's size, kitchen and location as we were traveling with 30 friends celebrating birthdays. This hotel was clean, comfortable, with a great central location. The staff was friendly and eager to help you with any needs you had.
If you are a beach goer, this hotel has chairs both on the dock and the small area on the walking beach. Not your typical beach, as it is the thoroughfare for beach walkers/bikers. It was fine for our group to get everyone together each day.
We really did not hang at the pool only because some of our group did not get rooms here as it is for registered guests only.
We had an ocean front room (207) which had a great view down the beach. It had a well equipped kitchen with medium sized refrigerators (no ice maker), coffee pot, toaster, tea kettle (good for boiling water to sanitize dished), microwave, stove top and all pots/pans, dishware you needed. The bathrooms have bulk soap and plenty of towels. Our bed was quite comfortable, not too soft not too hard....perfect for us.
Let's talk about water. The hotel staff says not to drink water from the tap. This is not a surprise to this worldly traveler. The only improvement that I would suggest is have a purified ice maker for guest use. They do have purified water fountain on each floor so when you run out of the pitcher they provide you can fill up more. We made ice in everything pan we could just so we could cut down on our ice purchases at the market. For coolers, and drinks.
If you are an active traveler, and enjoy being surrounded by the culture of another county in this bustling town....this is for you. If you are bothered by the local flare, and want peace and quite choose a place outside of San Pedro.
We will be back.

We just returned from Sunbreeze Suites and for the most part it was a very good stay.
We were celebrating a delayed 25th anniversary and when we checked in they left a card and flowers on the bed, which was a nice touch. The only problem was they had booked us in a unit in the back, right on the street, where there was construction right across the street. In the back units all of the windows are frosted so you can’t see the street, so they are very dark. We asked to be moved and they accommodated us and were very nice about it. We had to wait a bit so they could clean the new unit but it was much nicer.
Positives:
Spotlessly clean and good COVID protocols in place - much respect
The units are nice and although they are not fancy, they are well laid out with a full kitchen, nice bathroom and everything you need , even for a longer stay
Fresh water dispenser at the end of every floor so you don’t have to keep buying water
Nice staff, from front desk to housekeeping to security
Good restaurant on site with fresh Jamaican food
Convenient location right in the heart of San Pedro.
Units all have balconies that face the pool and ocean
Air conditioning and fans work well and are quiet - this can be a real challenge in the tropics and we were grateful not to have buzzing air con
Good value for money
Negatives:
If you want isolation this is not the place for you. Lots of busy activity, golf carts and trucks whizzing by right outside (but the units are quiet)
Inconsistent hot water - it’s hot, it’s not...you never know
This trip we had unreal sargassum. The smell was unbelievable and the seaweed went out 20 yards or more so the water was brown for a long way out, with giant piles on every beach. Not the fault of any of these hotels, there is no way anyone could keep up with it but it was really unpleasant.
Other things (not good or bad):
No privacy on the balconies but that’s true at most hotels
The pool is pretty tiny and not really made for swimming if that’s what you enjoy
You have to have a wifi code and it only applies to one device. They gave us more when we figured that out.
All in all the good way outweighed the bad at Sunbreeze Suites.

Thank you for your most candid review. We appreciate the time you took to layout the pros, the cons and the others. I am glad that the neighbors construction across the street is almost done and we are hopeful that the sargassum will not be around for too long. This seems to come and go when we least expect it. If we could only manage to remove it from the waters before it rots, we could avoid that awful smell. Thank you for the good things you experienced and be assure we will have to figure what the deal is with the hot water supply to that unit and make it right. Sincerely, Julia

We stayed for 8 nights & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff is very helpful & friendly.
We had several flight changes & Sunbreeze Suites Staff was quick to make our Maya flight changes & room updates.
The housekeeping staff does an excellent job. The room was exceptionally clean & comfortable.
The bed & pillows were awesome & we slept super good after busy days out playing. The linens are somewhat older with small stains but are soft & smelled good!!
The location is the best for walking around town to all the different shops/restaurant/tours. We didn't try the on-site restaurant but seemed popular w/ locals. Grocery store is a quick block over & there are several small markets within a minute walk.
I am not a fan of stairs but we did request 3rd floor ocean front room. We had room 306 & it was perfect for us. It is an easy walkup the stairs even w/ groceries & dive gear. The room location is high enough so that you don't get any smell from the sargassum that does accumulate on the beach. Always had a nice breeze & beautiful relaxing view of the ocean/boats. Nice big patio to dry dive gear & enjoy our morning coffee.
Room was extremely quiet except for 2 nights when Thirsty Tarpon was rocking the island with music. A little fan for white noise solved the problem.
We will definitely stay here again when we return!

In the heart of Old Town San Pedro, SunBreeze Suites is a simple stroll along the beach to much of what you might choose to do. Many great restaurants within a few blocks, as well as several stores should you be in the mood to take advantage of your kitchenette. A nice pool for fresh water frolicking and a sandy beach for sunning are on-site. The small dining facility has a limited selection of food, but what we sampled was nicely prepared. The beverage selection can fulfill most requests. All of the staff are dedicated to ensuring a nice stay from Daisy at check-in to Joe with bell hop and facility tranquility duties to the myriad of housekeeping staff who kept our rooms in tip top shape. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the SunBreeze for 7 nights and we are planning our next trip back soon! There is another sister hotel by the same name literally across the street from the airport. We stayed at the one further down the beach and centrally located to everything!
The rooms are big and spacious with a stocked kitchen if you want to cook or have snacks, full size refrigerator to keep your drinks and food cold! The AC worked great especially when coming in from fun in the sun. The shower had one of those rain shower head so it wasn't intense but it was good enough for bathing, they had plenty of hot water too. Housekeeping came every third day and if needed anything before then you just went up to front desk and requested it and they were spot on about accomadating your requests.
The food was decent, wasnt the best but it was good. This place is centrally located to everything there, you are walking distance to restaurant, bars, grocery stores and the marina!
Now the staff, man they really treat you like family!! Great big shout our to Ramon, Sarah, Mario and Vanessa.
Thank you all for making mami & papi's stay truly magical. We will most def be going back this year!

Very clean and spacious accommodations. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Huge bathroom. Coffee and tea provided in the room.
Was very quiet so assume that construction that others talked about is done.
Sunbreeze Suites is right in the middle of town so can walk virtually anywhere without renting a golf cart (note, you'll need a cart for Secret Beach or Truck Stop).
Without question, I would stay here again and/or recommend to others.

Stayed over Memorial Day week. The front desk was so helpful in setting up our flights with Maya air from Belize City. They also set up a golf cart during our stay. We had an issue with our safe and someone came up in less than 10 minutes. They also set up our Covid tests as well. House keeping did not come everyday but did an excellent job the two times they were there. Can’t say enough about the front desk and staff.
The grounds were very clean. The pool was in great shape, the beach was raked each day and they did their best with the seaweed. Unfortunately there a ton all over the island and it smells as it decays.
The bar and restaurant on site were very nice. Drinks were good and the appetizers tasty.
My wife enjoyed sitting on the dock and sunbathing. The smell was nonexistent since she was out over the water. The boys loved the pool, and I liked the close proximity to the dive shops. I dove with Amigo Del Mar but there was also Ecologic divers and one other small shop within a minutes walk. There are several restaurants within walking. The Palapa Bar can be seen from the resort. Lily’s Treasure Chest is a minute away. We ate there for breakfast and dinner a couple of times. There is also a couple of small shopping marts close by for snacks and drinks.
The only negative was that there was a minor smell of sewage, assuming coming up from shower drain? Just shut the bathroom doors and the issue was gone. Overall I would definitely encourage people to stay here. Really enjoyed our trip!!

We were on the second floor, ocean view and it was delightful. We ate breakfast out there every morning. We had a small table and chairs on our private balcony. The suites are located very conveniently and we could walk to any restaurant or grocery store quite easily. The staff, to a person, were really nice and helpful. We will go back.

This was my first trip to San Pedro, so I booked reservations at SunBreeze Suites based on reviews and the location. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. The location was perfect. I was there for 5 days, and I walked everywhere. It is walking distance from the airport, all of the local bars and restaurants, on the water, it was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better location.

Stayed for a week. Staff is amazing. They arranged all our transfers from Belize City to include Maya Air, taxi to hotel, rental golf cart and return covid testing. Everything was done with a smile. Live music some nights was a bonus. You could sit on your room balcony and enjoy. Saxophone 🎷 player was wonderful.
Palalpa Bar on the water was a short walk away and is a popular place day and night. You could simply walk up and down the beach for a variety of restraunts and taverns. Or leave outfront with your golf cart and travel 20 minutes to Secret Beach.
There is sea grass at this location, so you will have to head up to Palapas and above to swim.
We had no issues on our days we wanted to swim on the beach to head to Secret Beach or Blue Bayou. You just have to pack your suit and a towel, as both beaches are full service with food and drinks. Lots of neat things to see on the way.
Please remember to tip well. Seeing how hard these people work and how they are always happy, made leaving difficult.
In Belize they are greatful to have a job, returning to the states to people who dont seem to like their jobs is noticeable immediately. Everyone we met in Belize was happy and accommodating. Love this place and the people.
Food and drinks were ok. Again not a negative as there are more places to eat and drink close by than can be experienced in several trips.

Dear Lynn, Thanks for your review. You've said it all. We truly are very happy having guests and we want to ensure that each and everyone gets a wonderful Belizean hospitality. Secret beach that is no secret anymore is certainly the place to be to avoid the sea grass and unfortunately the sargassum when it comes in. Wish I could answer that but I didnt meet a tanya while visiting
Any of the locations “across the bridge”. I’m unsure the names of any places to stay, as we have only been there once and drove to secret beach from town. I believe you will want a golf cart either way because if you go to town it’s about a 45 minute drive from secret beach. (Don’t rent a golf cart from the airport or people who taxi you from the airport, they are outrageous in pricing). But secret beach has NO sea grass at all. It’s absoltely beautiful. Just a tip: the right side has a few bars to lounge by the water and relax and has people walking the beach selling bracelets, bowls etc, the left side is more secluded and you won’t have too many people around. Just keep that in mind.
If there is seaweed, you will smell it. We had room 301 or 311, can't remember, whichever room faced the ocean. The smell was unbearable. We left after one night. If you're looking for a beach, do not stay here. There is no beach, regardless if there's seaweed. There's sand that people walk on constantly, but no place to relax. If you want to lay in the sun, you'll be on a chair in the dock. If you want a beach/beach, the only two options are staying at The Palms or Ramons. They clean their beach constantly and have nice sand and separate areas for people away from the walking traffic.
There are several snorkel tours you can take. We booked through Searious Adventures which is just a couple of minutes walk from Sunbreeze Hotel (not the same as Sunbreeze Suites). The cheapest was $55 to Mexico Rocks which is a spot reef.
