My 9-year old daughter and I just returned from 5 days at Grand Caribe and we had a wonderful experience. The resort is very well cared for and clean. We had an ocean front one bedroom condo with an amazing view (Unit A8).
Housekeeping was fantastic and they even will do your personal laundry for you each day!
We ate lunch at the pool bar and it was very good and not crazy overpriced.
The pool was fantastic and they also had kayaks and paddle boarding.
We booked snorkeling tours through the resort and they were also excellent. They use a local dive shop and it may be less expensive to book directly but we did it through the resort for convenience.
We also rented a golf cart direct from the resort for simplicity. It seemed comparable in cost to other vendors.
We will definitely be back!

Grand Caribe, is a great resort, the staff is excellent, and the amenities are top notch! My husband and I travel multiple times a year and look forward to staying a nice resort for a week. One perk that we found invaluable was the free laundry service! the cleaning staff will wash your clothes if you leave them in the basket!
We were here for a week, and the hotel took care of everything that we needed, we did an excursion to the pyramids, and it was very easy to book through them, and organize our excursion. we booked our flights to and from the mainland with them as well, and they did all of our dinner reservations on nights that we wanted a nice dinner. You do not need to use the concierge, as I am sure that there are cheaper options in town, but they are top notch service and really did a fantastic job.
The location for Grand Caribe really cannot be beat, while we were here we drove the length of the island, and saw where the other high end resorts are (mahogany etc) and they are on the complete opposite side of the island. GC is close to secret beach, and still close enough to town, that it is only about 5 -10 Min to go to a dinner or a breakfast in town if you want.
The rooms are generous in size we had a 1 bedroom beach walk out, and it was by far bigger than the pictures online, the patio was huge.
TLDR : stay at GC, this side of the island is closer to the secret beach and down town. great restaurants in walking distance. Staff is amazing, you will love it.

The Grand Caribe Resort was amazing!! We chose a 1 Bedroom Condo with an Oceanfront Balcony and we were extremely happy with the condo! It was just as advertised, GORGEOUS - large rooms, beautiful kitchen, large bathroom, incredibly views from the large balcony which you could access from the bedroom or living room. The Staff were EXTREMELY friendly!! The resort made our arrangement for the Air Transport from the mainland through Tropic Air and the resort provided transportation to and from the San Pedro airport and the resort. Housekeeping was great!! Our friends used the laundry service provided by housekeeping and were very satisfied. We booked tours booked through the concierge and each tour was wonderful. We did several half day snorkeling tours and reef fishing and loved it all. The resort has 7 pools, we used the main pool with the swim up bar everyday! The resort has 2 restaurants, Rain and Aqua, and both were some of the best food we had on the island! We rented a golf cart to go to a few other off-site restaurants within a few miles of the resort. The Beach Basket grocery had limited items but we bought items several times during our stay. We would highly recommend this resort and hope to be back soon!!!!

Clean, Clean and Clean. The unit we reserved had a walk-out patio to the beach. I have no complaints. This resort met my expectations. The pool bartenders were phenomenal, housekeeping keeps the place spotless. Did I write spotless? I mean not one strand of hair found. I felt comfortable enough to walk around in socks. This property is well worth the money. I would suggest free shuttle service to the water-taxi because it is only a 15 minute drive and they charge guests.

We just returned from 6 nights at Grand Caribe. Upfront I will say we are not normally "big" resort people but this resort was a great option for our family with 2 older teens. We had a 2 bedroom condo that was ocean facing. The condo was spacious and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. The AC and Wifi worked well. Our 2 favorite things about Grand Caribe were the staff and the location. We had never been to Ambergris Caye before and we appreciated the ability to get to town or Secret Beach pretty easily. We visited a number of near by restaurants for breakfast and dinners. The staff working the pool bar were so nice from early morning breakfast by the pool or late afternoon drinks at the bar. The rest of the staff anywhere on the resort were very friendly and helpful. We did use the concierge to set up a couple of snorkeling trips and our golf cart. The resort also handled our airport transfers and scheduling. It was one less thing we had to worry about.
A golf cart is a must to really explore the island.
There is onsite covid testing and you could have it done in your room for no extra cost.
Nearby locations we recommend for meals include Marbucks and Tres Cocos for breakfast, Rum Dog, Stellas and Truck Stop for lunch or dinner.

The apartment is HUGE and very well equipped, the whole place is very well maintained and upscale. The staff very helpful, the pools are all gorgeous. The food and drinks are all delicious. The hotel even offer FREE Laundry service - they pick up and even folded the laundry for you. Amazing. The dock has paddle boat and kayak for guests to check out, which is very convenient.
The only nit is, the equipment could use an upgrade - given how upscale the place is. Only 2 of the 5 paddle boat have fins and one of the kayak has a leak - so do check carefully. We actually paddled the kayak all the way to the coral break and the kayak became so waterlogged we capsized many times on our way back. Good thing is we are pretty comfortable with the water and it's very shallow.

We just returned from a two week stay at Grand Caribe. We were met at the airport in Belize City, an agent helped check our bags at Maya Air for the short flight to Ambergris Caye. We were met at San Pedro airport and escorted to our transportation to Grand Caribe. Talk about special treatment arranged by the resort! We stayed in a one bedroom beach walkout in BelVoir South. The condo was roomy and very comfortable. Being right on the beach was wonderful! We ate most of our meals at Rain and the Pool Bar. The food was excellent (the only hiccup was on a busy Saturday night when some of the kitchen staff didn’t show up for work). The waiters were incredible...so friendly and efficient. By the third day, we were greeted by name (Miss Paula and Mr Richard) and they knew exactly how we liked our food and drinks prepared. A special shoutout to Jonathan, Tyrone, and Oscar at Rain. Even the hostess knew where we liked to sit and saved that table for us. Jordan at the pool bar is the best bartender ever! The grounds at Grand Caribe are impeccable. The housekeeping staff will even do your laundry every day if you wish. Your clothes are folded and returned the same day. We felt we received royal treatment during our stay. We highly recommend Grand Caribe!

My wife's birthday was on Saturday Night and dinner was as good as any other nice restaurant in town. It is during Covid so they only had local people because the airport was closed. We had 8 people for dinner and our bill was over a thousand dollars US. Wanted to do Sunday brunch and take a dip in the pool. They said we cannot use the pool unless we pay $25 per person. So obviously we did not go to brunch and will be our last dinner there. The pool doesn't cost $50 MORE to maintain because there are 2 people in it.

Everything was beautiful about this resort. It sparkled inside and out. The grounds, buildings and condos were constantly being maintained by a great many friendly staff. Oh, and of course the ocean view is amazing. We loved our beachfront walkout, where we had a ringside seat for the sunrise each morning. The condo was lovely with the personal touch of the owners and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you could ever need for meal prep. The resort is a reasonable distance from town, restaurants, Secret Beach and has a small grocery onsite with fresh take-out pizza.

I can't say enough good things about this resort. It was top notch from the start. I could tell even before arriving they were on top of everything and organized. They were very good at getting back to me with all my questions and arranged our flights and taxi to the hotel. I even found their rates for these very similar without a major up charge but significant added convenience. When I changed my dates of travel even though we had booked a higher rate, they actually lowered to rate for us to the current rate (in my experience) this is rare. The entire arrival was seamless we fly 12 mins to the island had a hotel taxi waiting and even got checked in early to our room. The rooms are huge with great A/C and nice amenities. The housekeeping every day was top notch and they even did our laundry every day! All the pools were a very good temperature and the staff was excellent overall. My family of 4 including a 6 and 8 year old had a blast. They even had a gym which was pretty good and very hard to find on San Pedro for hotels. Another added perk is they have their own golf cart fleet which is a must if you stay at this hotel. The prices were very reasonable and if you rent beyond 3 days is quite economical. I would highly recommend getting a golf cart for the whole trip as you can do so much more exploring of the island. One of the highlights is my kids enjoyed driving every day in the golf cart. Another plus and reason I choose this resort is you can take the free kayaks out to the reef (20 min paddle) and they have bouys you can tie onto and snorkel. The snorkeling at the reef was excellent and free! I would still recommend a tour for some of the major spots but you can DIY most of the time. Overall I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants nice big rooms, snorkeling, great beach, gym and pools and a little break from the hustle and bustle of downtown san pedro (again only 10 min golf cart ride into town if you want.)

Unfortunately, there is a lot of sea grass in front of this hotel property that kept the guest out of the ocean directly in front of the resort. There are pools and the snorkel adventures take you to clearer waters, but when we went in Oct'23, you'd have to go out a fair piece to avoid all the vegetation.

The resort is like a collection of timeshares so it’s not an all-inclusive type of resort. Use of the pools is complimentary with your stay but all other activities can be booked and paid for through the front office/concierge.
