Absolutely one of our best vacations. Owners were amazing, staff and the moon bar were great would definitely come back. Some days it felt like we had the place to our selves. Highly recommended. On arrival they met us at the airport, and they showed us the places to shop in town, room was great, we had an issue with the AC and it was fixed immediately

Beyond grateful for the time we spent at Mangata Villas! We just arrived home from a 10 day stay at this quaint, beautiful, quiet resort and are already planning a trip back. Serena and Aaron went way above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Our flight arrived late in Belize City so we would have missed our flight to San Pedro. Without hesitation Serena re-booked our flight so when we landed in Belize City we simply went through customs and were up in the air on route to San Pedro. Serena and Aaron met us at the airport with our golf cart rental (huge help!) and took our luggage to the resort for us. They stopped at a grocery store with us and even came in to point out some island must haves. They booked a catamaran tour for us, booked our beach massages, arranged a private fishing trip, recommended restaurants, had fresh towels and additional toiletries to us whenever we requested them and then assisted us with our luggage back to the airport at the end of our trip. Our trip was smoother, stress free and more enjoyable because of these 2. Our casita that we stayed in was perfect - beautiful shower, large double vanity, comfortable bed, efficient A/C and great to have a full kitchen. They have beer, coffee, rum and coke stocked in the rooms for purchase which also made our trips to the store less frequent! The pool is beautiful, the beach very well kept, you can't help but love the ocean view and for guest use they have kayaks, paddle boards & pool floaties that are all in great shape. We loved the location being just steps to the Portofino Resort for drinks and dinner and a short golf cart ride away to Secret Beach and other restaurants and bars. Nice to be close to these amenities so that you don't always have to go into San Pedro. Without hesitation if you are looking for a quiet, laid back resort with the most helpful hosts you can ask for .... you MUST stay here. Thank you Serena, Aaron and Mangata Villas for making our first trip to Ambergris Caye amazing!

We stayed here for 5 nights for the second half of our honeymoon and it was absolutely amazing!! Aaron & Serena were so accommodating and treated us as if were family. They met us at the airport and escorted us to our casita (with a quick stop at the grocery store) and ensured they greeted us every day to see if we needed anything. We were able to book our snorkeling tour with them and they recommended lots of great places to eat. The private casita was beautiful. The AC worked amazing and the bed was super comfy. They stocked the kitchen well with coffee.... (coke/beer & rum for a small fee) all the water you needed/wanted. Mangata Villas is about a 20 min golf cart ride from town but it’s well worth it. It’s a nice distant away from the craziness of town. We figured out the secret hand signal to get over the bridge without paying 🤟🏻and a friendly hello. (It worked 4/5 times) If/when we come back we will stay here again! Thanks for everything!

The resort offers so many activities and a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy Belize and a peaceful romantic getaway in paradise The rooms are beautiful well-maintained and the hosts were so accommodating to our every need. The drinks were excellent and well priced and large no skimping there. The staff was friendly courteous and quick There were kayaks and a great beach only 400 yards from the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world. Snorkeling was excellent and water depth to see all the wonderful sea life was never over 15 ft inside the reef. It was safe and visibility over 100 ft. Dive or snorkeling tours would come right to the resort to pick you up and a great price compared to stateside equivalents with so much better seascapes. Fishing was great and lots of fun. Yoga was taught on the beach with great instructor even if you were a beginner. Paddle boarding and a nice pool to cool off Many options for entertainment on the island and the catamaran tour was great we spent movie night there and got to meet a lot of ex-pats and having an outdoor movie on the beach under the moonlight was awesome with free popcorn great pizza and wonderful drinks you can’t imagine what it’s like to watch a movie like that in a golf cart or a lounge chair on the beach until you’ve experienced it I highly recommend this for anyone coming to Belize San Pedro area and a great value. The owners are wonderful people who are always out checking to make sure you have a wonderful time. you can’t go wrong with this place we will be coming back many times 👍👍👍👍😎🎣🏊♀️🚣♀️🏝

We went here for our anniversary and upon arrival to our room (after being picked up at airport by the owners) our room was tastefully decorated along with a bottle of champagne and island chocolate. This place is so quiet, peaceful, yet close enough to party central if thats what you like too. The beach feels like it's all yours, never crowded, you have free use of kayaks and paddle boards too. Oh and the pool overlooking the ocean is really nice as well. The owners, Serena and Aaron go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your vacation to the max. They know the island and the people very well. Want to go on an excursion? They can get you in touch with one of the best on the island, want to go to a nice restaurant, they know where all the best ones are as well, heck, they'll even make reservations for you as well. I promise, you will not regret booking with them. The rooms, both the villas and Casitas are tastefully decorated and have all you need and more, also impeccably clean. I will surely revisit this place, loved it

What a wonderful quaint, high quality stay we had at Mangata. An intimate stay with limited guests, this is the perfect paradise on San Pedro. They have on site kayaks and paddle boards that are in incredible shape. The rooms are beautiful and have great AC and amenities. Both the pool and the private beach are picture perfect. The hosts are fantastic and extremely communicative-they'll help organize excursions and have all the best tips for restaurants etc. We would highly recommend to both strangers and friends and family. An incredible vacation with one of kind hosting & amenities -- will likely return.

We stayed at Mangata Villas for a week in November in a beachfront villa. Absolutely beautiful resort, stunning rooms! Our family and friends stayed in the 3 casitas and we enjoyed our trip SO much we are looking at purchasing real estate on the island. Moon Bar is right on the beach and I loved the pina coladas and fungi pizza. YUM!! The beach and grounds are impeccable and it’s far enough from town to be peaceful and relaxing but close enough that it’s no trouble to drive into town for dinner at night. We had the BEST couples massage on the beach! The awesome hosts arranged a really fun snorkeling tour for us and recommended the best places to eat! The hosts arranged our golf cart rental (you will love exploring the island on the golf cart). We really enjoyed movie night on the beach every Friday as well. The hosts arranged our covid tests which was super helpful and the test was done in our room. We will definitely be back!!! Don’t hesitate to book here! It is adults only which we really appreciated. Cannot wait to come back!!!!

We spent 8 days at this gorgeous, intimate hotel. The hotel is situated 25 minutes from the main beach strip of bars (such as the Palapa Bar) and 30 minutes from the airport (via golf cart). I believe you'd be hard-pressed to find nicer accommodations on the island. Our villa was beachfront, modern, clean, and had a well-equipped kitchenette that allowed us to cook breakfast in the morning. It was like having our own condo on the beach versus a standard hotel. Having Moon Bar on-property was also a great perk when we wanted to go have a drink beachside or some pizza.
The hosts, Aaron & Serena, could not have been more incredible. They booked all of our tours, were available to answer questions via WhatsApp anytime before and during the trip. Communication was amazing, and they even picked us up from the airport personally, showed us to our golf cart, and drove us around to show us everything we needed to know.
If we ever return to Ambergris Caye (and we plan to!), we will not hesitate to stay here again.

I just completed 8 days at the Magnificent Mangata Villas. To say my stay was wonderful would be an extreme understatement. If your answer to the question I asked is for you to have a vacation where the view of the ocean is beautiful, then Mangata Villas will fulfill that desire. If it's to be in a place where your away from the hubbub and noise of city life, then Mangata Villas is definitely the place for you. If you want to get away from children for a while (even if you love 'em but just want some time away), then Mangata Villas Adults Only policy will help in that arena too. My entire life is devoted to children so the time away for the week was kind of nice. Did you just get married and are looking for the perfect Honeymoon Villa or Casita? Look no further! Mangata Villas would be perfect for you! I stayed in both the Casita and Villa. The Casita was very cozy with a king-size bed, small table and kitchen, and was just a 30 second walk to the pool/bar/beach. The Villa was bigger with a nice couch in a separate room with a small, just right kitchen. The bedroom had a nice, comfy king-size bed. The ocean view from the Villa was beautiful. The pool was literally outside my door. Both the Casita and Villa was immaculate and squeaky clean. Pride of ownership was evident. I also had excellent WiFi my entire 8 days!
As shared by others, it’s a bit of a drive to town, but I enjoyed the 20-30 minute golf cart drive (thanks MK Golf Cart Rentals) and found it very relaxing. If you just want to stay at the resort, you must order one of their incredible pizzas and have their sample of the many flavored margaritas (mango baby) or try their secret, homemade Mango, Habañero Rum! Their new Mangata Moon Bar was so pleasant day or night.
If you prefer crowds and noise and a place far away from the beach or ocean, then you should go somewhere else. If you want to stay at a place where the owners are some large corporation or conglomerate, then look elsewhere. But, if you would like to stay at a place where the owners themselves live and will truly go above and beyond in helping to make your stay as perfect as possible, meeting all your needs for the reasons you came to Ambergris Caye in the first place, I can absolutely, positively assure you that Serena and Aaron Musil are those owners. They amazed me.
In my travels to more than 74 countries the past 40 years, I have stayed in many, many places. I can say without hesitation, I have NEVER stayed in a place where the owners are there every day and truly, truly care about their guests the way that Serena and Aaron do. Within just a few days, they went from being the owners of Mangata Villas, to friends for life.
If you’re looking for the kind of place I’ve shared about, I cannot give a higher recommendation for a place to stay than Mangata Villas.

I would highly recommend staying at Mangata. I stayed in a casita and enjoyed the privacy and kitchenette where I could make my own breakfast. As other reviewers have said, the owners take great care in treating their guests and made every detail of the trip go smoothly. You can’t beat the ocean view, and we had fun taking the paddle boards out. The pizza at moon bar was delicious. It’s a nice quiet location that’s about a 20-30 minute golf cart ride to town, though there are many restaurant options closer than that along the way. Definitely put Mangata on your list!!
