Absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. We made it through customs faster than expected and Tropic Air called ahead to Las Terrazas to let them know that we'd be arriving 1 hour earlier than expected. 2 gentlemen greeted us upon landing immediately and pulled a van around for us while handling our luggage. They drove us up town about 8 minutes to a dock where we were transferred on board a speedboat, luggage loaded by the staff. A short 6 minute boat road over to Las Terrazas dock where we were again immediately greeted with a cold towel to wipe away the travel before enjoying a freshly made rum punch. Checkin was quick and easy and our room was perfect as requested. The room itself was spacious and comfortable including thermostat temps! Beds were extremely comfortable. The staff at Las Terrazas is absolutely AMAZING. Unbelievably helpful and extremely friendly catering to every need. The food from O Restaurant was delicious and we tried almost everything! Golf cart rental on site made for a fun and unique adventure into San Pedro. My wife and I enjoyed a private romantic dinner the evening that we arrived and we could not have been more pleased with how the staff set it up. We'll remember it forever! This resort only has 34 units so it is small and quiet, and you feel catered to all day, every day. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Definitely come here!

Service. Location. Clean. Luxury. First visit to Las Terrazas and will be back for sure with friends & family. The entire experience is epic from the pick up at the airport with a quick drive to a waiting boat that takes you to your location. The rooms are well appointed with large comfy beds with all white linens and pillows that are the highest quality you want at a resort plus the AC is awesome and works to American standards ( thank you ) The staff is friendly and the food & drinks are awesome. This is a great spot for families or friends, the pool is beautiful and the location on the beach is incredible. I will bring my own hair dryer with me next time as that is the only thing ( so minor ) that wasn’t perfect ~ the room HD gave less air flow then a deflating balloon. Besides that ~ LT is a huge 5 stars and a total relaxing vacation spot!

Thank you not only for booking Las Terrazas Resort for your Belize vacation; but also for sharing your comments here. As you probably know, comments such as yours are extremely valuable to others when they are planning a vacation. We checked the hair dryer in your room after reading your review and it only needed a quick removal of lint! I wish we would have known while you were our guest. PLEASE contact Lorraine or Adam in our Houston office for personal assistance with planning a return trip --- and I promise, you won't have to bring your own hair dryer! We look forward to welcoming you home again. Cheers! Carolyn Stone Director of Sales

This was our second stay here and loved it. The three bedroom sea house is wonderful with walk out capability to the beach and outdoor shower for all our scuba stuff was great. You have the best of both, ocean front beach house and privacy but also a small boutique hotel that offers kayaks right on the reef out your door, beautiful infinity pool, excellent bar and restaurant and tons of wildlife. Iguanas we fed outside our bedroom papayas, a fishing pier with our daily buddy Jeremy a gray heron happy to take our small fish, and private boat tours and scuba pick up available at the dock around the island with local providers. You can drive from your golf cart into town- hermit crab racing on tues at nautica crab. Trivia night at the local truck stop on thurs. And elvies kitchen in town for coconut curry is a must. We love the people the island and this place and it is our happy place we recharge ourselves. We hope to return for 2 weeks again in August, we can not say enough of the service. They even provided rapid covid testing with 15 min results the day before departure for our airline requirements at our room.

Let me begin by saying that I have traveled extensively all over the world and I was so disappointed with my vacation in Belize. Upon arrival we were told we would be under curfew of 9:00 due to COVID which means no food or drink beyond 7:30- 8:00 at night since the staff had to get home when we paid for an "Inclusive Package". Keep in mind if you go out for any excursions and get back late you are not going to eat or drink. The resort sells itself as a beautiful beach front resort that basically has a fully unusable beach due to the invasion of the smelly seagrass. So to get to a beach where you would actually go into the water you have to rent a golf cart from your resort for $55/day US to drive to a nice beach and then pay $15-$20 US for a single drink! You pay for a Meal and Drink plan at your resort that basically you cant use a huge portion of the time. When you do eat at your resort you are taken advantage of. If you order a burger off the menu does it come with french fries? Nope those will cost you another $5.00 US. How about the fact you cant drink the water in your room but do they leave you any bottled water in your room that also has a full kitchen? No The cost alone even with the exchange rate 2 to 1 in the favor of the US dollar was 50% more than my recent trip to a true all inclusive resort in Mexico and the same cost as my trip to Greece!! The last straw was the alcohol. We were told the Inclusive Package included only local alcohol which I was okay with so when we arrived my husband and I ordered drinks and quickly realized it was significantly watered down. We decided to order local alcohol shots and were told after they gave us two that we would no longer be allowed to order shots during our stay?? When we asked why they said all alcohol had to be served with mixers? I am sure you can answer the "why" to that one which is so they can hide the fact they are giving you no alcohol or very little. The ONLY good thing I will say is the resort Restaurant O did provide good tasting food. Even with a Vaccine Card you will be required to wear a mask ALL day all around the resort and city unless you are actually in the pool or ocean. Don't bother and stay home!

Response from Carolyn Stone, Sales at Las Terrazas Resort

Thank you not only for staying at Las Terrazas Resort but for taking the time to provide your input regarding your experience. Comments such as yours are extremely helpful to others as well as to our team. Our goal is to exceed guest expectations and on behalf of our team, please know that we take your review seriously. I would like to address a few of your comments for others reading this review to help them better when considering Las Terrazas Resort for their Belize vacation. The current curfew was announced by the local government a few days before your arrival and was implemented the week of your stay. I relayed this to you via phone while helping you cancel your original reservation and then rebooking at the group rate. Since reopening the country for Tourism last October, Belize and its citizens has done a great job of controlling the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This is extremely important, especially in a country without the medical resources to help should the virus run as rampant as in some other countries. I am not sure why you were under the impression you cannot drink the water in your room.. We have our own Reverse Osmosis Water Plant on site. Not only is providing safe drinking water for our guests important, it is also part of our Sustainability Program to reduce the use of plastic water bottles on the island. The Meal Plan package was selected by the couple who hosted your group. They wanted it as a convenience for their guests. It is not something that is widely purchased due to island guests tend to want to go off site to explore, and in addition to dining on site at O, also dine off site. There is no comparing Belize with Mexico prices and it’s abundance of all inclusive properties. Belize is the smallest of all of the Latin .American countries and thereby has no purchasing power. Costs are just higher on everything, especially the island, where items also incur shipping charges. Your comment on the fries being an additional charge on top of the Meal Plan was most insightful and helpful. While the lunch portion of the Meal Plan indicates one entree and one dessert, we will have talks to change this to an entree and choices of second item. Thank you. Sunny Regards, Carolyn Stone Director of Sales

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Las Terrazas Resort. The staff specifically were fantastic - Aaron was absolutely incredible! We had him as our waiter for two of our dinners there as well as several of our breakfasts - he was so friendly and always had a smile on his face, no matter how busy he was. Noreen was another wonderful staff member who always had a smile on her face and provided excellent service. Hector, Bernie, and Karisha were fantastic bartenders who always were surprising us with fun new drinks. And Jahfeth, the CFO (Chief Fun Officer), definitely made sure we had fun! From taking us out on the Hobie Cat (and chasing down stingrays on it!) to helping us out with our paddle boards, he did a great job of helping us have a great time at the resort. We had a blast here. It was definitely a relaxing vacation for us, and yes, the off-site excursions could get expensive, but there were plenty of free activities to do at the resort that kept us busy! We loved our time here, and especially loved the people we met.

We stayed five nights in March and absolutely loved Las Terrazas! The resort is beautiful with big palm trees throughout the property, gorgeous pool, fantastic restaurant and very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are so nice and clean, with great housekeeping. The staff were so helpful with booking activities like fishing and scuba before our arrival, and helped us arrange transportation to and from BZE airport. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with lots of flowers that attract hummingbirds and a nice balance of shade and sun. Some of the bigger resorts look like they cut down all the trees to build more hotel rooms and the look stark and a little bleak from the water (we took boats to get to scuba and fishing so we got to check out the other resorts on San Pedro). You can rent golf carts from the resort to drive yourself to town, which we did one day to buy snacks and check out the Truck Stop (cool food truck spot). Otherwise we have eaten every meal here and they’ve all been delicious. Blackout curtains in the rooms make it easy to sleep in. They play music at the pool during the day sometimes but it isn’t too loud to catch a nap in the room. Hammocks on the beach are awesome. We left our kids home with grandma for this trip but there are plenty of families with kids here. I highly recommend this place, we had a great time!

My wife and I recently returned to the island for a short vacation. It was our first trip back since the pandemic has upended the world and it was great to see that most of the old businesses have survived and that new businesses have popped up. Staying at Las Terrazas is always a treat. The resort is close enough to town if you want to go and far enough away to feel the right amount of isolation. Our room was a pool view room and it was nice just walking out the door and the pool was right there or the beach was 50ft to the left. I really enjoyed just hanging out on the beach in a hammock listening to the surf breaking onto the reef just offshore. The front desk manager, Curl, arranged a half day fishing excursion for me with Captain Mike while my wife was busy getting a massage. Fishing was great and the guides really knew where to go to start getting fish quickly. I ended up with a bunch of snapper, a barracuda and a trigger fish.that all ended up at O Restaurant where Chef Nolven prepared for us for two nights. He did the barracuda in a ceviche that was amazing and cooked the snapper in a curry sauce, a wonderful seafood sauce, Belizean style, and my wife's favorite, with tons of garlic. All the staff at the resort are great and very eager to do anything to make the stay memorable.
Renting a golf cart was another high point of the trip. We took the short ride to Secret Beach, The Truck Stop, and to the little grocery store to stock up on Belikin Beer.
Leaving is always hard but we are already looking forward to when our schedules will allow us to go back to paradise.

As you probably know, comments such as yours are valuable to the team as well as other travelers looking for their next hotel stay. The people at resort very attentive and helpful. Our room was the Penthouse unit with dipping pool and quiet. The large unit was fully equipped with large shower and large jacuzzi tub. Our balcony was very well done. Location was great a couple miles from downtown. We were able to fish, snorkel, and swim in ocean. Truly enjoyed the golf cart excursions into town for food tour and eating. The fish we caught were prepared that night by the Chef with different preparedness. Truly great!

I was part of a lovely wedding at Las Terrazas Resort where we thought this weekend was going to be magically unforgettable with a nice vacation but this is our first time getting a bad experience. When we arrived we were greeted nicely by the staff except for one front desk. Our first night we called to the front desk that we needed some extra sheets the lady said in 10minutes or less I instructed her for housekeeper to leave it on the master bedroom; we came back from dinner nothing was left and the office was closed. The next morning the same lady was there we told her and she told us "ugh hmmm okay!!" (with an attitude) we asked her about some excursions which we could book with the resort she gave us some business cards and to let the company know by whom we were sent (which we didn't asked for). Throughout that morning we chilled by the pool we decided to ask for golf carts my friend went and ask and the front desk (Naialey) told her she doesn't have but she can get us a deal from another golf cart company because to her the resorts' golf carts are “expensive” (we didn't ask her for any deal) “she highly recommends to any other guest" thats what she said. We were already furious so my brother in the other room went down and check for golf carts and boom all of a sudden she did had after he gave her a 40USD. I don't know if she was expecting us to give her cash?? Can someone tell me did we needed to pay for such services??? Las Terrazas I don't know if I am still planning to do my wedding at your resort after this experience I am still debating.

We booked a girls getaway for Belize and heard about Las Terrazas from a friend who was there for a wedding earlier this year. We originally were looking at a hotel in the little town of San Pedro but so so glad we stayed there. We all really liked the location away from town but still close enough to easily get to. Mainly because there are not tourists walking along the beach or locals (the children!) trying to sell you their craft items. It felt like we were at a private or exclusive resort! Part of the charm and "feeling like a local" was the ability to rent a golf cart at the resort to putz in to town, The Truck Stop, Secret Beach, etc. Both Adam and Carolyn in the US Office helped us with rooms but also gave us the lowdown on transfers (they will book the flight for you) the island, getting around, popular tours and activities. This was most helpful as we had never been to Belize. I highly recommend a call with either of them to help you plan.

The rooms are huge and as shown on their website! We 6 girls shared a 3 bedroom with 2 full bathrooms. We just scheduled our shower, make up, hair dry time around each other. The new curfew of 9pm had just gone in to effect, but we made the most of it. We spent full days at the pool and other activities and actually were ready to be back at the resort by curfew. Belize Food Tour and a Catamaran Sail to Caye Caulker were our highlights. Our home state was in lock down FOREVER, so adhering to the curfew and mask wearing (when in town) was not a big deal. We ordered some cocktails in advance from the bar and a pizza one night and other snacks from the restaurant and stocked in our room for late night "snack attacks". Bernie the bartnder makes THE BEST cocktails!

Whether at the resort or anywhere we went, the people of Belize were some of the most genuine and authentic we have run across in our girls trips. The staff at the resort all cared if we were having a good stay, asked what they could do for us with no request being too small. Ohhh - be sure and book a spa appointment! I don't remember her name, but I had a 60 min relaxation massage that was so relaxing!

We are already planning a 2022 Girls Trip and our group has gotten larger after hearing about our fun. Go to Belize for a different type of vacation. A place you will explore

Can you walk into the ocean here to swim?
Answer from LasTerrazasTeam
Denton, Texas17 contributions3 helpful votes
Hi Hillary, Yes, you can most definitely walk into the ocean from here. Guests who stayed with us in the past had a different experience, but we have made improvements to the beach to better serve our guests. First off, Las Terrazas Resort has the island's only Surf Rake, which removes the sargassum and debris from the beach, shakes out the sand, and leaves the beach clear. Due to this machine, we were able to remove the sea wall and now guests are able to walk straight out into the water. The beach and pool have brand new loungers (as of December 2023). And remember our private cabanas are complimentary to all guests. Please reach out through our website if we may answer any other questions for you! Las Terrazas Management

Relax did a fantastic job of summarizing the nearby restaurants. Our guests can also request a list of recommended restaurants at the Front Desk - and we would be happy to make reservations at onsite O Restaurant or any of the other island eateries. I would also add that Secret Beach is a golf cart drive away on the north side of the island, which has many different beach bar and grills, with picnic tables actually in the water. Lots of fun.

Hi there, thank you for your question. Most of our golf carts are for 4, typically with 2 front facing in the front seat and a rear-facing seat in the back. However, our Reservations Office can help you find whatever size you need. Please give us a call or email and we can give you pricing, etc.
