This place is a great family hotel. It is well maintained and in a perfect location in Avila Beach. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable, even the sofa bed. There is a lovely pool, huge checker game and ping pong table. Breakfast is included and it is set up buffet style with hot food in chafing dishes like scrambled eggs and potatoes. There is also cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit and a variety of breads. It is nothing special but works for large groups. The hotel is directly across the street from the beach and the hotel provides beach toys and boogie boards but no beach towels. The staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place for a fun getaway.

The moment we walked in our room (room 120) we all said, WOW!

As you walk in there's a plush velvet sofa, chair, floor lamps, small sink, refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee machine and flat screen tv! The windows are something I've never seen before in a hotel. They are quite lovely actually. They have plantation shutters. A perfect set up if you ask me. There's a thick straw area rug.

The bathroom has double sinks, in the shower they have the shampoo/conditioner/soap dispenser. Hair dryer and plenty, plenty towels!

The closet is very ample with 2 large sliding mirror doors, 2 shower terry robes (the heavy luxurious ones), iron, 2 folding luggage racks, extra blankets and pillows!

There's a separate door that leads to the main bedroom. Both Queen beds were super comfortable (really comfortable!) 4 pillows on each bed. The carpet covers the entire room, let me tell you it's so soft and plush!

The nightstand has a phone and alarm clock with 2 USB ports to charge 2 devices at once.

There's a round table in the corner with 2 chairs. There's a chair next to the flat screen as well.

There's a charming patio that faces the pool and you can somewhat see the ocean. It does have lots of plants and flowers. So it's somewhat secluded (I like the privacy feel) it's just far enough and private enough where you don't feel watched. This room faces the pool. The patio has 2 chairs and round tables. We grabbed pizza the 1st night and ate al fresco. There's a wall light in the patio it's not the brightest. Also, the patio wall can be used as additional seating if needed (it's at about above knee height). The patio has top to bottom sliding plantation shutters. There are no curtains on the windows.... not to worry the shutters did a great job on keeping the sunlight out.

Parking: The property has charging stations for electric cars! The parking is under a roof on street level. Plenty rolling luggage caddy's. Elevator with clear signs directing you to your room number. A wheelchair can easily navigate through the property from the room to the main floor and out to the Main Street.

You're walking distance to the pier, kids play/climb area with swings. Lots of restaurants, wine tasting, shops, one store in particular is just adorable called HULA HUT. They are a 1 stop shop! Ice cream, fudge, coffee, breakfast meals, Avila Beach shirts, handmade gifts, candles you name it the list goes on and on!

Hope this review has helped! It's a charming hotel, you will love it !

Location is great and so is the pool. The rooms are quite expensive ( unless I am missing the discounts) and minimal service. For an average of over 400 a day you get little room cleaning with minimal done when you get it.. They had a grab and go breakfast when we got there and neglected to tell anyone that full breakfast was going to be started mid week. The survey on the hotel asks if we felt we were treated special . No way. The rooms are dark and there is no storage for items except for the floor. The big draw is the pool if you have kids. With the view of the ocean its great! Looking to book ahead I saw the prices were 50% higher for next year.!! That may knock us out of the running !

Your stay experience is of the utmost importance to us and therefore I apologize that it did not echo the perfection we desired for you. We are abiding by local regulations as well as our management guidelines. We are in agreement with our guests who have overwhelmingly stated their preference to not have hotel staff entering their rooms during the pandemic unless specifically requested. And as you are also aware, drought is a recognized California problem, and the hospitality industry is under increasing pressure to reduce water consumption. To help reduce water usage, we are only providing housekeeping cleaning service every other day. Our team strives to be friendly, welcoming, and always eager to serve and delight our guests, and as such all requests are promptly fulfilled. We truly appreciate the feedback that you have provided and we look forward to welcoming you back soon!

The front desk staff and housekeeping staff were very friendly and accommodating. Everyone always had a smile on their faces and eager to help. Love our 2 bedroom suite with ocean view and balcony. The room was very clean. On our arrival the second toilet did have a leak but engineering came within minutes and repaired the problem. Love the 2 fire places in our suite. The daily breakfast was delicious. Hot breakfast buffet included- ham and cheese croissants, bacon, eggs, potatoes, make your own waffles with fixings, toast, English muffins, bagels with all the fixings, mini muffins, cereals, yogurt and granola, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, OJ, cranberry juice, V8. Amazing for a breakfast that is included with your stay.
The view is amazing and is across from the beach. Pool and jacuzzi open till 10pm.
This is becoming one of my favorite places to vacation.

We just got back from a quick two night stay with our kids in one of the villa suites. We loved the location and my kids really appreciated the heated pool, especially since it was a chilly, windy weekend. We were able to walk five minutes to eat dinner or get a treat and you just need to cross the street to walk along the beach.

We found the service friendly with a pleasant check in experience and friendly staff at the included breakfast. When we first checked in two of the TV's in our room weren't working but when we called down, someone came up right away to fix them which was great! He was super friendly and got them up and running in no time with no subsequent issues.

We also loved the little free library, and although we didn't take any, we left about half a dozen books that we happened to have in our car to donate!

The room was spacious with a great view and the beds were really comfy. It was decorated well and the balcony was spacious. I only took off a star because of some minor quirks in our room, particularly the master bathroom. There are pocket doors in the bathroom that have large metal plates mounted on them (I assume to make them easier to use) but ours was only held on by one screw out of three so it made me nervous to use and I largely just left it open rather than risk the screw ripping out. The toilet paper roll holder wasn't screwed in properly and fell off on our second day. Finally, when we were getting ready for bed one night we could very clearly hear other guests chatting while we were in the bathroom getting ready for bed. It sounded like it was coming from the vent over the sinks which was extra strange since we were on the second floor, but we just knew to be quiet in the bathroom after that.

In general, the good definitely outweighed the quirky and we'll likely be back for another staycation in the future.

Wonderful and charming. Loved our stay here in the two bedroom villa suites - what a view! We had sun and 70s one day and fog and rain the others, but the heated pool and hot tub kept the kids entertained. Service was excellent and friendly, breakfast was nice inclusion especially for the kids. Beach gear is available and included in resort fee, a great bonus. The Avila Pass you get at check in has some great discounts you’ll easily miss at the few restaurants and shops in town. Don’t miss Mersea at the Hartford Pier a 5-min drive away, it was our favorite meal in town. So good, we went back twice!

I am VERY picky about hotels and absolutely loved this place! I hadn't been to Avila Beach area before and had no idea what to expect. My husband and I traveled with our teen daughter and her two friends. They got us adjoining rooms both with ocean/pool views and check-in was fast and easy. The rooms were spotless and smelled like they were freshly and thoroughly cleaned. The beds were so comfortable (again, I am picky!) and we loved the little balcony which we sat out on for coffee in the am and wine in the afternoon. The location is perfect and there is a garage right there for our car with no extra fees! You walk right out your room to the pool or beach and the promenade is literally right there for food, drinks, coffee, shops, etc. The pool was cleaned each morning and was not crowded at all. There is also a free breakfast/coffee each morning 7am - 10am. Everything was great - would definitely highly recommend this hotel!!!!

My husband and I wanted a laid back mini vacation from LA and this place fit the bill perfectly. We wanted a quiet and easy getaway and the amenities here made everything effortless. We stayed here for two nights and wanted to stay longer. Our room was 208 which was an ocean view with a king bed. We left only the screen door closed so we could hear the ocean waves lull us to sleep.

We started our morning with beach yoga which was one of my favorite hotel amenities at 8 AM. There’s nothing else like warrior 2 with the seagulls flying nearby and the soundtrack of the gently crashing waves in the background. My husband isn’t a yogi and the stretching was gentle enough for all levels beginner to advanced.

Breakfast is until 10 AM in the galley and we brought it back to our room to eat on our balcony with view of the ocean. The hotel has free rentals of beach equipment and we borrowed some beach chairs, a beach umbrellas, and towels to take to the beach across from the hotel. We finished our day in the hot tub and swimming pool.

We’ll definitely be back next time we need a break from LA. Next time, I want to try the oceanfront room to have a more direct view of the sea. We were happy with the ocean view room. I’m just curious about the oceanfront view.

This establishment was literally PERFECT in so many ways. Their attention to detail was top notch. So many cute and functional additions to the room, parking garage and breakfast area made this hotel a repeat destination for sure, I was part of a group who used the Conference Center and the staff was immediately responsive to a toilet malfunction. When we needed to get into the Center, early in the morning, it was easy to find someone to unlock the door for us. We had storms coming in the weekend I was here and they provided us with batter-powered lanterns "just in case." This hotel has a Tesla and other EV chargers. It is not a supercharger though, but that was fine. They bake fresh cookies every day and have them available several times a day. The breakfast was standard every day from 7 am - 10 am: eggs, bacon/sausage; ham/cheese or plain croissants; waffles, cereal, cheese, coffee, juices and more. Towels/robes are available for the pool area or just for lounging. The items for sale in the lobby are not overpriced. They even have a freezer with ice cream. There are some wines available as well. I cannot say anything bad about this place. The staff was friendly, professional and always available. They even had a staff person text me to ensure we were taken care of! I could text them 24/7 for anything. Try getting THAT elsewhere.
