We traveled to DC for the Alzheimer’s Advocacy Forum. Service could not have been better! We had room needs for the TV access and service was courteous and immediate. Meals were great and they serve Starbucks Coffee at the Market Shop.
We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed the amenities, including the pool area. The hotel is a well-functioning for business and leisure purposes. The the hotel staff were very attentive and kind. We will definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family visiting town. The location can’t be beat.
If I could give this a -10 I would! The rooms are dingy, dirty and need updating. I could live with that but the manager would not budge on the lie the front desk clerk told me about the daily credit and upgrade cost. The only reason I’m giving the benefit of any doubt is that this was booked through Hilton Vacation Club which I listened to the spiel and saw it for what it was a scam! Points you pay for upfront for a vacation you may or may not be able to actually book. Timeshare ownership is a scam folks. Don’t get sucked in. Back to this worn out old hotel! What a dump!! Hair in the bathtub, carpet smelled like a dog urinated on it, suite was 2 rooms that connected and was laughable except for the high price! Don’t walk away from this gem RUN!!!
I couldn't be more happier. Thank you and thank Alexis McClain for such a lovely and fun welcome at a very late time in the middle of night. Her smile was all we needed to get through the check-in process. A little disappointed about the absence of a lounge, but not a deal breaker. The staff were nice, the rooms had what I needed and the view was lovely.
The accommodations were clean and comfortable, with great service. However, before booking, make sure you know whether you'll be charged a "destination fee" (I call it a captivity fee), which they levee as a credit toward expenses at their on-site restaurants and overpriced market/pantry, to increase the odds that you'll stay there for breakfast, drinks or dinner. I think that's a sketchy add-on.
My daughter and I stayed at the Washington Hilton for her school conference and remained an extra two days. Our TV and heater didn't work so someone had to come and fix these things (twice)! I think that this person cased our room as we had quite a few things as I was working and my daughter had her conference. Two days later, someone broke into our room and stole our computers, airpods, chargers, my backpack, her winter jacket, and my jewelry. Also - it was strange but the room was not cleaned that day. I didn't know this but apparently: There are no security cameras on the Floors There is no security protection in the elevators - you don't need a room key to get to any of the floors. For the most part, the staff was very laissez-faire and just asked us to list what was stolen so they could submit to their insurance company. This seemed like it was just normal to them but they also denied that this occurs. We had to call 911 and have the DC police help us. Luckily the DC police took this very seriously and told the Hilton that their security is terrible and with no cameras or limited elevator access, it is unsafe for guests. The DC police told us that this happens a lot at this hotel. The only person who was helpful was the manager (I think he was Director level) who helped us the next morning. He typed out the long insurance list and was overall very nice. We filed our report with the hotel 2 weeks ago and NO ONE HAS FOLLOWED UP WITH US.…
In town for an American Legion Conference. I always enjoying staying at this hotel. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean, and I like the electronic key. The only check mark would be forgetting to leave wash clothes. I will be back next year. Travel safe…
Tell you I believe this hotel is well below the status of the Hilton. I am in Hilton honors member check-in went smooth. However, please be advised the rooms are small there are no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms. Went to one of the restaurants to eat yesterday in fact, went twice once for breakfast were two eggs with sausage and a cup of coffee was over $25 before the tip. Rather than travel somewhere in the evening, I went down to get a hamburger sat with some associates , apparently they only had one waitress working. It took 33 minutes to get a menu by the time we had placed our order and received our food and all simple food two hours a hamburger one alcoholic drink with the tip was over $46 this place seems totally unprepared for the amount of people that are here this weekend for a national conference representatives from all 50 states are here I have stayed in the Hilton in Crystal city for other business purposes and it far out rates this Times I travel to Florida down the 95 Carter and I have stayed in hotels that are much less expensive and have so many more amenities. It’s incredible I know it’s Washington DC but $880 give or take for three nights borders on insane welcome to Washington DC choose wisely.…
Room laced with potent nicotine/cigarette smell. Requested new room and they promptly put me into another room. Heater wouldn't work in middle of the night, slept bundled up. Moved to 3rd room next day - again, no haggling required, which was nice. Upside: Great gym, service is pretty good, lobby is remodeled, and location is near a Walgreens and other stores. Downside: visible dust, broken baseboard (taped with masking tape), tons ofnl channels via Directv, but no way of streaming music or even a clock radio, rooms that face a building with little light, windows desperately need cleaning even for rooms with the best view, closets too small to fit a full sized suite case on a stand, food options for room service poor, not the healthiest, and very limited.
Rooms were dirty, stains on bed/walls, towels had stains & holes in, bathroom needed an overhaul, walls were so thin I could hear the people talking in the next rooms. Unable to order room service after arriving at 9pm from a long flight from Europe, lobby and bar areas were very busy and super loud at all times (2-3 conferences on). Charged to leave my luggage for 1hour (this is a first for me). On the positive side the staff at check-in were nice. Would recommend you find somewhere else to stay.
