We loved our experience at River Inn. What made it amazing was the location and the people. Everyone was genuinely kind and helpful. I can't say enough for the staff and how good their communication was. Only downside was the rooms are older and not updated. There's chipping paint and dated decor. However the beds are comfy and everything worked in the room. Bottom line: We'd love to stay their again

Hotel's Favorite
First time visit to River Inn as well as Washington DC and will be back to both. The hotel is superb, and the location is quiet but very walkable to most tourist destinations. Easy access to restaurants and wholefoods! Western Market an easy walk with lots of interesting and reasonable food stalls . Friendly staff, loved the greeting as we got back every day "welcome home" as it did feel like (nearly) home after a few days. We splashed out on a 1 bedroom apartment for 2 of us, knowing our early bird/ night owl tendencies would be enhanced by jet lag. Lovely to have all the space and nice views over the mews behind. We rarely heard other guests, and for a big city it was surprisingly quiet.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying 3 nights at The River Inn and enjoyed a wonderful time. The property itself is older, but well maintained and clean. Check-in and check-out was efficient. The restaurant provides a convenient place for breakfast and/or dinner…we ate breakfast here one morning and it was very good. Our suite was comfortable and clean, and the furniture is comfortable. Our bathroom was somewhat on the small side, but everything worked well so no problem here. The most impressive aspect of our stay was the friendliness and positive attitude of the staff. We were always greeted by name, even when just passing through the lobby. Any requests were addressed in a timely fashion with a genuine smile. Specifically, we’d commend Bettina, Shah, Jada and Ronald for their superior customer service! We will definitely return on any future trip to DC.

Very nice room. Quiet and clean. Friendly and welcoming staff. Short walk to the Kennedy Center and the Metro. The hotel is located in a beautiful neighborhood -- tree lined street. Great way to visit DC without having to deal with the congestion and noise of the main streets. We plan on making this our go to venue for future visits.

Can't beat the location, friendly and very helpful staff and overall value. We always feel very safe in this neighborhood. The Metro station is less than a 10 minute walk away. My wife is the world's pickiest restaurant eater and a great cook so a kitchen is a must if possible. Whole Foods is only a 12 minute walk away and everything we need to survive 4 days or much more is in the kitchen. Pots, pans, plates and utensils. Large fridge for a hotel and a 4 burner stove, microwave and even an air fryer. Good luck finding any of that at most hotels these days. The King suite is large enough to provide some privacy and space. The room was comfortable and clean. The towels were quite nice. We love all of the large windows. This was our second stay at the River Inn and when we eventually return to DC we will definitely stay there again.
