I stayed 2 nights using IHG points and was charged for taxes and fees. I've never had that happen at an IHG hotel, or any other hotel for that matter. Very misleading! Otherwise it's a fine hotel, but they shouldn't be charging taxes and fees on free nights.
Front desk staff was excellent! Super friendly and helpful! We travel often and this is a hotel we will definitely stay at again. The room was decent sized and very clean. Beds were comfy, a warmer blanket would have been great. The heater in the room was quite loud. Parking was very convenient and easy to access. Within walking distance to all the museums and the wharf.
Hotel is in a great location for a tourist. Subway station only a couple of blocks away and the national mall very close. Rooms very nice and daily housekeeping exceeded our expectations. Front desk personnel friendly and helpful. Our room was very quiet. On the negative side the restaurants in the hotel are very disapointing. Very expensive. I feel they take advantage of the hotel guest because there are very few choices in restaurants nearby. There is a pizza place and a McDonalds within the block and nothing else but food trucks in front of the air and space museum. I would stay at the hotel again if there were better options for dining.
I’m not sure where all of these 5 star reviews are coming from but they definitely did not stay in our room. We have one night left in room 277, a 1 bedroom ‘suite’. We were kept up all night since we are on the ground level with 4 railroad tracks 30 feet away from our rooms windows with trains honking and shackling up 24 hours a day at least every 30min. We can not even comfortably open our curtains as we are on the bottom floor. As for the inside of the room we are pretty disappointed. We stay at Holiday Inns pretty regularly and have always had a good visit until now. The room is dark, has two colors of lightbulbs, stains all over the walls and carpet along with large patched holes in the walls that have not been finished. This is all ok if I’m paying $100 a night total but for almost $550 for two nights it’s pretty unacceptable. Oh and the toilet rocks when you sit on it as if it’s not bolted down at all… NOT WORTH THE MONEY Pros: Very nice lobby, friendly staff and good location for tourists like myself.…
Hotel 'could not' honor request to book us adjoining rooms, even tho, when reserving room this was not a problem. Rez even had a note about adjoining rooms, but no luck. No USB outlets. Average internet service. Staff less than friendly. Beds comfy. Linens soft and clean. Deep tub, but poor pressure in shower head.
Let's start with the pros: (it is a shorter list). -location (a little further from the Mall than I usually stay but still within walking distance) -room (decent room, clean, good size) -price (this was fair overall, not stellar but decent) Cons: -Charges (the hotel made five total charges to my card on file which included the total charge x2 plus three extra charges; eventually the extra four charges were removed so the correct amount was the only one finally processed but this could be frustrating for someone who has not planned for hundreds or thousands in charges holding up their account for a week or so) -Parking (the hotel charges for parking which is an attached public garage; my partner parked and paid less than half of what I was charged due to a reduced weekend rate just paying through the garage. Something to check into) -Restaurants on site (This turned into one of the best memories at the hotel purely for how laughably bad it was. The buffet breakfast was what it was; watery eggs, McDonalds hashbrowns, etc. For dinner my partner ordered the homemade chips as his side. They were literally potato chips. Out of a bag.And they charged extra for them! The gall. The staff were incredibly slow, waiting for 20-30 minutes for drink refills, etc. ) In summary, if you are looking for a moderately priced place to stay for a decent night's rest, this isn't a terrible choice. Watch your charges, check into parking costs, and don't bother eating there. DC has too many good restaurants.…
Hotel was very clean with comfy beds and great water pressure in the shower. All hotel staff were friendly and housekeeping was excellent. You can't beat the location. It is only a block from The Air & Space Museum and within comfortable walking distance of the National Mall. Parking garage was well lit, clean, and there was always an attendant on duty.
The staff member I interact with (a young Chinese man) made derogatory comments behind his mask. I was shocked. I only said hi and he said a nasty thing. In the evening my friend went to the vendor machine they kept close to reception and I waited for her a few steps away and he noticed me. His behaviour repeated. The same nasty comment. I stayed before at the same inn in Windsor and everything was fine. That's the reason I booked again with them but I will never do that again. This is unacceptable customer service not to mention that it's inappropriate in general.
Great location, easy walk to National Mall. The parking garage was a tight fit for our Silverado and the fee was really high, $58 one day. Starbucks and cafe were nice and convenient. Gym was decent. Trains were loud right outside the window. Bathroom was small and not the cleanest.
Love this hotel - great location, wonderful staff. Location is perfect for sightseeing on the mall. Love that there's a Starbucks and restaurants onsite as well (kids eat free!) Shut out to Chris the front desk manager who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable!
