Over Labor Day Weekend this year, a dear friend and I were guests in room 406. While I could use an entire review to commend the lovely corner room, its comfortable bedding, and its clean and ample bathroom, I wanted to praise the service that I received from one person in particular, Ms. Flannery Barnes, their Director of Operations.

That Saturday night, while leaving the hotel for dinner at Archipelago, I dropped my wallet five stories down the elevator shaft. I had been bragging about how thin my new Ridge Wallet was, and its entry into that small crevice was cleaner than Greg Louganis entering the water from the high dive at the Olympics! Needless to say, as I heard it bounce down that elevator shaft, my heart could have bounced with it. However, I trusted the RFID-blocking properties of the wallet and was even more assured, when Ms. Barnes told me in the lobby just moments later that she would get started right away on a low-cost of free solution to find my wallet…and that she did!

Shortly after I arrived at dinner, Ms. Barnes rang to say that the free option – the one for which I had hoped – would occur if we waited for the monthly inspection. After a wonderful breakfast the next day at nearby establishment that she had recommended, I drove back home to await hopeful news of a coming elevator inspection. On Labor Day, she emailed to say that the inspector would be on-site that week for a regularly scheduled inspection; the next day, the wallet was in her hands with all my credit cards and bills intact. Two days later, the wallet was in my hands at my home.

Not only is the Henley Park one of my favorite DC hotels within walking distance of so many of the District’s fine attractions and restaurants, but the outstanding service that I described above is standard for them. I look forward to returning when we can all take advantage of their restaurant (the Tavern) and impeccable room service.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Henley Park Hotel September 2021. I stayed in room 504 , as I had requested a room in the back that was more quiet, as the front of the hotel faces Massachusetts Ave which can be a bit noisy. The hotel is a very classy historic boutique hotel, they have afternoon tea at 4:00 pm, the hotel was very very clean, all of the hotel front desk people, as well as other staff work together as a team to make the clients stay a happy one! They greet you each time you enter the lobby and there is a friendly valet/door gentleman. Although my room was small, it was super clean with a comfortable bed, hairdryer, shampoo, lotion, soaps. A home cooked breakfast 7-10:30 daily is a must and you can order some items from the small bar in the evening. The hotel manager Dereck was very friendly and helpful as well.
The hotel is convenient to restaurants downtown, as well as tourist attractions such as the Smithsonian, the Washington Monument and the Capitol. in the future I will re-book at the Henley Park Hotel....thanks to all for a very relaxing stay!

This was my second time to stay at the historic Park Henley Hotel. Also stayed for 3 nights in September 2020 and I couldn’t have asked for a better service. Although I requested a room upgrade which was not granted in spite of available rooms, nevertheless the customer service was excellent from the front desk to housekeeping. The Security Guard could have been more attentive and gentlemanly by opening the door when he is standing behind it and he sees me walking towards the front entrance and hauling my suitcase.

Flannery at the front desk was terrific. She gave wonderful recommendations on restaurants and directions. Maintenance was quick to replace a bulb in the bathroom, Housekeeping promptly delivered more drinking water bottles. a shower cap, and body lotion.

Excellent value for a wonderful service. The room was extremely clean. The bed was comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was strong although a new shower head would improve water distribution. Also, an additional hand held shower head would have made showering a very good experience.

I had a very negative experience at this hotel. For one, although I called the night before to check Covid-19 protocols and was assured that they were very strictly enforced, that was not the case. Loads of people, including staff, without masks. No one said anything. When I checked out, I had to wait over half an hour for my car. Nowhere to sit outside. The valet guy was super rude; when I tried to explain that I had spinal fusion and couldn't stand that long, he just walked away. As he finally drove another car out of the driveway, I saw him pull off his mask. At that point, not knowing whether he would do the same in my car, I had to ask for a Lysol wipe-down, and I requested a refund of the hefty parking fee (~$50), which was denied. I do not recommend this place at all, the rooms are nothing special at all, it's quite noisy on the street, and most importantly, it is not safe at all.

I recently stayed at the Henley Park Hotel and unfortunately had my car broken into when it was parked on a street nearby. Dave ad Ldet from the hotel staff were incredibly helpful and even took my car into the valet garage and taped up the hole in the window so I could drive home the next day. I am very grateful to them and their kindness!

The location for us was excellent. We were visiting our son for his 30th birthday, and this hotel was a six block walk away from his office. The door men were very helpful. When we had a couple of minor issues, they were dealt with straight away. I booked a junior king suite, the room was very clean, a very good size, decent furnishings, and a good sized bathroom, with tub and shower. The bed was very comfortable, I slept well, which often is not the case. Next door is the Westwing Cafe, which was a lifesaver for us.

The check in staff were polite, but nothing else, no info about the amenities in the hotel. We stayed Wed thru Sat. For the duration of our stay we were unable to order breakfast, lunch, English tea or dinner. They supplied coffee and pastries for breakfast, but only earl grey tea, no English breakfast tea was available, (I asked). As I am gf, I was unable to do breakfast there. Thank God for the cafe next door. We asked the manager if there was anything he could do about this, (meaning reduce our payment a little), he said as it was an unforseen circumstance, he could not.

Bottom line, I think it was great for the price we paid, great location, good room. No amenities in hotel, but we knew it was a small boutique hotel, and we did not want a big conference hotel.

The Henley Park was a favorite of ours when our son was in grade school (he's now 30). But he went to Georgetown and so we found accommodations closer to the University when in D.C. But after an absence of more than twenty years we found the Henley Park to be better than we remembered it - a very tidy, historic oasis in the midst of what some of the worst of contemporary modern architecture has to to offer, including a dreadful edifice of a large hotel chain directly across the street.

Our junior suite was spacious, nicely laid out, and comfortably furnished. The lobby, bar, and dining room have also been renovated with a light touch befitting the historic property that the Henley Park continues to be. We were shown to our room early and served a great high tea by the general manager himself shortly thereafter. All of his staff are first rate, friendly and highly competent. I really look forward to my next stay there.

These are difficult times for the hotel business and I still have to travel during the pandemic. As such, everyone is doing the best they can and it is greatly appreciated.

My visit at the Henley Park this week was a delight.

Teshome (the hotel manager) was most welcoming and he offered a few local restaurant suggestions and also told me about the different room types.

The other folks I encountered on property were also quite welcoming and helpful.

I am a big fan of historic properties and it was nice to find that the beddings were in excellent condition and that the heat was most robust and effective.

Also, the bathroom was spotless. The shower and bathtub were immaculate and the grout was in tip top shape (I used to be a hotel inspector, so I keep a close eye on such matters.

A terrific visit and I shall be back!

I enjoyed my stay at the Henley! The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was simple but delicious. The hotel is nice and cozy, though it has a bit of a threadbare feel to it, like a luxury place that is well-worn. Even so, I found it extremely comfortable.

I don't recall what room I was in, but it was located directly beside a closet of cleaning supplies. It made it very difficult to sleep, as each time someone accessed the closet, it sounded like they were trying to get into my room.

Loved this hotel! So clean all throughout the building and regular king room was spacious. Valet parking, front desk checkin and checkout seamless. Front desk clerk even loaded our bags in our car while we ate breakfast! Breakfast was reasonably priced and very good. I ordered a $7 bagel with cream cheese- but it arrived with beautiful presentation including tomatoes, onions, capers and lox!! Only negative for us was that the AC in our room didn’t seem to be pulling moisture well and room felt a little “damp” but not musty at all — and I’m very sensitive to odors. However, we visited while a front was coming through with the remnants of a hurricane so that may be the reason. Walked to Capital One Arena for Eagles concert felt safe walking to and from. Would happily recommend!

Are spa services available? Please specify the hours and whether or not they are in room. Thank you so much!
Answer from Mireia Buti
Washington DC, District of Columbia
Dear Guest, We offer the service however the company is not on the property. We use Rejuvenate Massage Therapy that you can call to schedule an appointment. They will come to hotel. If this is not the kind of Spa service you are looking for, there are other options very close by that our Front Office Staff can recommend. I hope this answers your question. Thank you,

We have a lovely standard Coffee Maker, it comes with pre-made combo filtered packets with coffee in them. You also could brew hot water for Complimentary Tea, which is provided and re-stocked daily by housekeeping team.
